[Another week, another set of disasters. Hibiki’s head is still reeling from the lengthy ordeal that was Solf J. Kimblee. But it’s because of that exasperation that she’s able to turn her restlessness into something useful. It’s too late to set about making curry for everyone, so it’s time to make some easier dishes. A replication of Fern’s mac-and-cheese, somehow she’s whipped up some kind of donut to go with her animal-shaped rice balls. There’s coffee, tea...hopefully it’s enough? And if it’s not, Rin has provided some delicious Chinese food. And that always tastes better late at night, doesn’t it?

And for the adults (or the exasperated teenagers), Susan is carting down booze from the bar. Joy. Hibiki’s never written to the group en masse before, but she delivers a piece of paper to everyone while Rin and Susan finish up the preparations. Each paper has a drawing of an animal on it, too.]

Too much has happened today. Whether you want to get angry, cry, smile, laugh, or just be out of your room, you don’t have to do it alone. Rin and I have prepared food for everyone, and Susan’s brought the drinks downstairs so none of us have to go into the bar tonight.

Even if it’s just for a little while, won’t you think about joining us in the dining room tonight? Being together is just as important as working hard. And remember, nankurunaisa!

[Three more candles are lit today. Tabitha Smith. Sigrun Eide. Solf Kimblee. They’re all Cabanela’s doing. There aren't any decorations, but the food is spaced out so everyone should be able to grab something and munch if they need it. It’s not clear how many people will come, but a serious attempt was made this time.]

Yeah. Weird as she is, looks like she really does have someone to get back to.

[ ...She's pushing that conversation they had from weeks ago aside, the one where Aligula talked about how she didn't really do connections with people. ]

Kinda...nice to see right now, honestly.

[She nods, and then her smile grows a bit more curious.]

Do you have anyone like that back home, Alex?

That was my meaning, yes.

[ She shakes her head. ]

No, I wasn't... Not for a long while, I haven't really been dating around or anything.

And there's nobody you feel that way about, either?

Nope. [ She...shrugs. ] I wasn't really looking for...you know, something like that.

I don't think it's something you should set out looking for. It happens more... naturally.

[ She's quiet for a moment, thinking about... Ah, it doesn't matter. ]

U-um... Two big bones? Says they're dino bones. [ certificates! ]

...I do not know what a dino is.

[Medieval fantasy problems.]

Dinosaurs...?

[Judging by her blank stare... Nice try, but no dice.]

And that would be...?

Ohhh boy. Okay, they're a super old, super extinct species of animal that's like...they're lizards but they're also birds? Scientists dig up their bones and stuff to figure out how they lived.

A lizard and a bird at the same time... Like how a gryphon is both a lion and an eagle? How fascinating!

Sort of. They look more like lizards, but they're ancestors of birds? Except maybe they had feathers, science is...they keep discovering new things.

How fascinating! So... Lizards that are descended from birds, somehow. I wish that I could see one.

Are there many different kinds?

So many. There's...jeez, if only I was a dinosaur girl, there were a lot of them, okay.

Then... If there are a great many, could I at least hear of your favorite?

...Favorite dinosaur? Uhhh. [ It seems she hasn't really given this much thought. ] Pterodactyls seem cool. They're like...flying ones. Big wings, pointy heads.

I see... They sound fascinating!

But - how do their bones determine how they lived?

Uhh... If they had injuries, or...how strong they were or big...? There's more to it. Other remains fossilized, I- I don't really know, I didn't pay that much attention in that part of science.
