Week 2.

WEEK 2 Two people are dead. Ken Kaneki has been murdered, Reaver has been executed - and perhaps most uncomfortably, the Conductor is proud of you all for adhering to due process. (As always, by which he means that there is a process, and you all are certainly doing it.) Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, once you've shaken that off, there are new things to be looked at; the previously closed-off area near the kitchen has been unlocked, and there's a new floor to be explored - consider it your reward for a job well done. [Welp. Yep. That's pretty awful.]

How pleasant. I didn't know he'd put weapons like that in there.

...The gun doesn't work. The bullets wouldn't fit this one anyway.

[Admittedly there is a functioning gun in his possession since Reaver fixed it and then died, but that's not really important.]

More concerning are the sword and the pickaxe. I sincerely hope there won't be any more of those falling out.

Who has those?

[She knows about the knife Hibiki gave her - something she hasn't mentioned to anyone else either - but she doesn't know who else has what.]

Chie has the pickaxe, which obviously shouldn't be much of a concern as long as she keeps it locked away. I have the sword.

[Maybe it would be better to hide it but ehhhh. It's not like he's going to kill anyone right after he sacrificed his only friend's life so he could live.]

[Susan nods. Chie hardly seems large enough to use a pickaxe, and Logan...well, if she distrusts him with a sword she certainly won't say so to his face.]

As long as it isn't Rick.

[Thank you for not jumping straight to "but you're going to murder someone" after the... everything with Reaver. He definitely appreciates that.]

Exactly. It might be best to keep an eye on the machine, but that's hardly something anyone would want to spend all of their time doing.

[And it's not like there's anyone here that we can all trust, so.]

[It's just sensible. You don't tell a potential killer that you're maybe onto them. Anyway, she's not really so decided about Logan yet.]

No. We'll just have to keep in mind that anyone might be armed. And we did have the kitchen knives to begin with. The only difference is that a few of us might have giant bloody swords, and those are hard to conceal.

[No one's going to sneak up on her with THAT. She'd be more worried about someone whipping out a hidden knife.]

I don't know what all everyone has gotten from the machine. There might be other weapons I'm not aware of.

[Like knives. Which he definitely doesn't have on him at this very moment. Um.]

Of course. Anyone could have one.

[That's kinda her point. JUST DISTRUST EVERYTHING]

Obviously he wants us to kill one another. I have to wonder if he'd grant a request for a weapon if we were to put in for one.

I don't see why not. Unless it's just meant to be down to luck - like a proper game.

I doubt that. If it was proper luck then wouldn't we all receive the same amount of coins every night?

How many coins have you been getting?

I believe I've gotten over forty, though I don't recall the exact number.

Does anyone know why? I've only written him once, and not for that.

I've asked him to stop and he just keeps leaving more.

[THE CONDUCTOR HATES HIM SO MUCH FOR SOME REASON

I haven't spoken about the coins with anyone else, so I'm not sure. All I know is he refused to dignify my letter with a response.

[apparently logan's mental health is not a necessity, who knew]

I asked him about his compositions, and he sent me some sheet music. Just that - though he did want to know why, first.

[decrees]

...That's hardly a necessity.

Have you played it yet?

Not yet. It only came yesterday.

[And everyone was still kinda decompressing from the weekend's bullshit.]

It's not, but I'm not surprised. It's all about vanity, with things like that. He probably likes to think he's a great artist.

Most likely. I'd like to hear what he's written, though I doubt it's nearly as impressive as he thinks it is.

Of course not. But he must be proud of it - it's the most straightforward thing in that profile of his.

I can play it for you?

If it's possible, I'd like to take a look at it as well. It's been quite some time since I attempted to play a new piece.

I didn't know you played at all.

I do, yes. It's been quite some time since I last practiced regularly. It... is a nice distraction here.

[Even though the ballroom is where Kaneki was strung from the chandelier... Logan hasn't been into the ballroom since before that investigation.]

[Susan shrugs faintly.] You must be busy.

I've only played the one here once or twice. It didn't feel right at first...I'm used to just playing alone in my flat, every so often. [Her expressions sours a bit.] The neighbors aren't my biggest fans.
