Week 2.

WEEK 2

Two people are dead. Ken Kaneki has been murdered, Reaver has been executed - and perhaps most uncomfortably, the Conductor is proud of you all for adhering to due process.

(As always, by which he means that there is a process, and you all are certainly doing it.)

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

However, once you've shaken that off, there are new things to be looked at; the previously closed-off area near the kitchen has been unlocked, and there's a new floor to be explored - consider it your reward for a job well done.

PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 27

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

[OOC: Welcome to week two of Trustfell! Save your threads for coins and the coming week's activity check; don't forget to check in to this week's activity check and submit your memory regains as well!

The Letters and Switchboard posts are still active, for the sake of contacting the jerk who's keeping you here, to be used at your leisure!]

[Elise looks up from a thick novel she's... okay, she's barely a few pages in, but she's trying to look busy.]

Oh, hello. Did you find anything interesting?
hashtagafreakingghost: forever and always (the painted hallways)

[personal profile] hashtagafreakingghost 2015-11-13 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
[A little wave to Elise, though her hand is full of gold yarn. Ashley sets it down at her nearby chair and picks up a novel of her own- or at least, a collection.]

Nothing I recognize, but a book's a book, right? You?
announcemyvictory: Smug neutral look. (blue hydrangea)

[personal profile] announcemyvictory 2015-11-13 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
It would be a lot easier if I just knew what this world considered cultured and what was worth reading.
hashtagafreakingghost: then i'll tell you mine (if you can keep secrets)

[personal profile] hashtagafreakingghost 2015-11-13 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[She raises an eyebrow.] You don't wanna just read and see what you like?
announcemyvictory: Confused. (sunset in vine)

[personal profile] announcemyvictory 2015-11-14 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
That is the sort of thing I like, Ashley. It's important, isn't it? What sort of thing do you like better?
hashtagafreakingghost: forever and always (the painted hallways)

[personal profile] hashtagafreakingghost 2015-11-14 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not saying what's considered cultured is bad! I love all kinds of classics-- all I'm saying is going off only that can keep you from finding some hidden gems. There are plenty of books I've read on a whim with no sign that they'd be good or not that I've loved.
announcemyvictory: Assured... or just sleepwalking. (those summer nights seem long ago)

[personal profile] announcemyvictory 2015-11-14 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe. I suppose it doesn't matter anyway. It's not as if anyone would laugh. The Conductor, maybe, but he owns the books.
hashtagafreakingghost: (written in the ashes of the fire below)

[personal profile] hashtagafreakingghost 2015-11-15 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
...You don't read some books because people would laugh?
announcemyvictory: Blushing. (where did you go)

[personal profile] announcemyvictory 2015-11-15 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Doesn't everyone avoid things that would embarrass them?
hashtagafreakingghost: but there's no light behind me (there is a shadow here)

[personal profile] hashtagafreakingghost 2015-11-15 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
You really avoid low-culture that much? Why does it embarrass you?
announcemyvictory: Profile shot. (cold cash divine)

[personal profile] announcemyvictory 2015-11-15 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
I don't want to be laughed at or compared to other people unfavourably. That's all. Isn't that what anyone doesn't want?
hashtagafreakingghost: (the time goes by and sets the stage)

[personal profile] hashtagafreakingghost 2015-11-15 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Well, yeah, but... Do you come from somewhere where a lot of people would laugh about that kind of stuff? Even...pop culture's kind of a staple of my life. ...I'm from LA, it's really a staple of my life.
announcemyvictory: Smug neutral look. (blue hydrangea)

[personal profile] announcemyvictory 2015-11-15 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
I've... well, always been compared to my older sister. It's nothing important or tragic or anything! We were always close growing up! But I'm still a lady and I ought to act like it. That makes sense to me, anyway.
hashtagafreakingghost: nothing waiting in the silence below (always empty in the house of every other)

[personal profile] hashtagafreakingghost 2015-11-15 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
So proper ladies aren't allowed to like silly books or anything like that? Sounds like a lot of work.
announcemyvictory: Profile shot. (cold cash divine)

[personal profile] announcemyvictory 2015-11-15 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
I'm just embarrassed, that's all. I didn't know it was all that uncommon. It's important to you, though, isn't it?
hashtagafreakingghost: buried underground (what's lost will be found)

[personal profile] hashtagafreakingghost 2015-11-15 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
...Kind of. Some genre fiction's upheld, like...Tolkein, or Le Guin's Earthsea series, or even Harry Potter, but so much fantasy and especially science-fiction is just left out of the world of literature. Mystery novels get it a bit better, but- ohh, don't even get me started on horror, I could- [She falters.] ...I'm not into it, very much, but my friend, he...talked my ear off about how great horror books are excluded from the...classical canon all the time.
announcemyvictory: Assured... or just sleepwalking. (those summer nights seem long ago)

[personal profile] announcemyvictory 2015-11-15 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, really? What else do you like? Is there much of it here? I know nothing's really all that recognizable.
hashtagafreakingghost: there's something waiting for you here (it's so much better to pretend)

[personal profile] hashtagafreakingghost 2015-11-15 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
No. [Sigh.] There's nothing here I recognize...or, anyone I've talked to recognizes, actually. Weird. I just...I like most things. Fantasy, romance, mystery... I write it too. Sometimes.
announcemyvictory: Waving from the game cover. (but if you send for me)

[personal profile] announcemyvictory 2015-11-15 04:35 pm (UTC)(link)
You do? I've never tried, if I'll be honest with you. Is it difficult?
hashtagafreakingghost: ("don't forget to smile")

[personal profile] hashtagafreakingghost 2015-11-15 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh, well!] It depends on how I'm feeling or how in a groove I am. If writer's block's set in? Oh, yes. But sometimes it's really simple. Putting together actual coherent stories, that's another subject...but it's really fun. I love stringing together sentences and working in the minds of characters and creating worlds... It's all so exciting.
announcemyvictory: Profile shot. (cold cash divine)

[personal profile] announcemyvictory 2015-11-15 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
That might be. There's a writer in Oak Tree Town who talks a lot about her work. She and her brother run an antique shop. She's that mature and refined type everyone loves... I wonder how the town's doing.
hashtagafreakingghost: this moment is endless (pretending‚ believe that we're safe here)

[personal profile] hashtagafreakingghost 2015-11-15 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
What's it like? The place you're from.
announcemyvictory: Ojou laugh. (cashmere cologne and white sunshine)

[personal profile] announcemyvictory 2015-11-15 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
It's very nice. Small, the sort of everyone-knows-everyone place, but the weather is usually mild and the people are easy to get along with. It's not like this dump, that's for sure. No one has to be afraid.

hashtagafreakingghost: but there's no light behind me (there is a shadow here)

[personal profile] hashtagafreakingghost 2015-11-16 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Really? That kind of place? I never would've thought... You have the city-girl feel to you.
announcemyvictory: After changing. (you used to call the queen)

[personal profile] announcemyvictory 2015-11-16 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I did come from the city. I lived there for most of my life. But a lady's got to see the world and establish herself, right?
