WEEK 2 Two people are dead. Ken Kaneki has been murdered, Reaver has been executed - and perhaps most uncomfortably, the Conductor is proud of you all for adhering to due process. (As always, by which he means that there is a process, and you all are certainly doing it.) Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, once you've shaken that off, there are new things to be looked at; the previously closed-off area near the kitchen has been unlocked, and there's a new floor to be explored - consider it your reward for a job well done. It'd be better if we had a dummy to practice on. I'm not going to go poking holes in people for the sake of a demonstration. But you can at least see how to set up the IV bag - these stands here are collapsible, see?

And that means we can move them quickly from place to place, right?

Yep. No need to drag anyone up here, if they can't walk.

These bags here just have a saline solution in them. You can use it to get water in dehydrated people, or if they can't drink for themselves. The blood's in the same type of bag.

You just unscrew the cap on this end, and attach it to the end of the line. Then clamp the line, here, squeeze it a few times to get it ready, then unclamp and let the line fill up.

The other end's the one with the needle. That, you'll have to stick in someone's arm.

Alright. Oh- one moment. [...Is she taking a pen and paper from her pocket to- of course she is. She's taking notes. What a fucking nerd.]

Okay, much better. What next?

It'd go in this vein here, like I said. [Pushing one of her sleeves up, she indicates the inside of her elbow.]

[Always the good student, this one. Ashley looks up and starts drawing a very crude diagram -- not exactly a good at this, but she tries -- to mark which vein she's talking about.]

Okay... Is it always the most visible one?

Yeah. It's harder to see if they haven't been drinking enough, but there's not so much you can do about that.

I guess we should have reminders for everyone to keep hydrated, then.

Well, you'd want to change the bag once a day, if it were going to be in that long. Not for the blood transfusions - you shouldn't need more than one bag for that. Just take the tubing out when it's done.

They should be monitored the entire time, of course, just to make sure they're stable. I...hope that doesn't actually come up.

Oh, of course, me too. How bad would it be if we need to hospitalize someone in this place...? But...more than one person should know all this stuff anyway. So...thank you.

It'd be nice if one of use could save someone for a change.

It'll only help if we can get to them in time...we need to keep a better eye out.

Why is everyone going out at night anyway?

I wish those rooms weren't quite so quiet. That would help.

What they need is to not go out alone. Buddy system, or something like that.

We could just stick with our neighbors. If we trust our neighbors.

[She's already offered that to Elise across the hall, and the only room next to her is Cabenela's, so that's all right.]

Katsuki suggested that... Marty and Mr. Jiminy. I like them well enough, but...I don't know. Trust is kind of hard here.

Mordecai...

[Susan hesitates. She thinks he's to be trusted. But is she certain enough to stake someone else's life on it? That's bigger than just trusting him herself. How could she live with it if she were wrong?]

...seems alright. I don't know Marty that well.

They seem alright. There are just... They aren't my big go-to, and... Oh, I don't know. Can't be too careful. With these stakes.

Well, you're welcome to come see me, but my room's nowhere near yours. [There's a good excuse too, if Ashley doesn't trust her that much either.] Who else is down near you...Giovanni? Don't ask him.
