Week 9.

WEEK 9 With another death to the timer and another double murder - accidental though that last part may have been - your numbers have been cut even further. Hibiki Ganaha, Sayaka Maizono, Alex, and Kyrie Ushiromiya are all dead, bringing those left alive from twelve down to eight. It's almost hard to believe this started with thirty-five people. There are so few of you now. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... It seems that the pattern from last week is holding; there is no new floor to occupy yourselves with. It doesn't seem much else has changed, either - leading to questions that are uncomfortable but must be confronted. Namely, where do you go from here? Is there anything you can do? I mentioned this to Elda, but what if we've all been involved in a past game?

Given that we have been gradually receiving memories each week, I would not be surprised if we had experienced other games and had our memories of such events erased.

But the question is, why? If we are here and alive, then that means we much have survived other games. Isn't a condition of winning that we get to leave?

[Unless those games ended in some other way besides 'winning', maybe.]

Jericho has been taunting us for weeks about other games, about titles being reused...

If we all survived our previous games, that doesn't help clear up the mystery. Unless the intention all along has been to ensure there aren't any survivors.

Mmm, that could be the case. Though from the sounds of it, at least a few people here in this game have been killed before?

[Archer comes to mind, after reading that file. But that might also mean that some of the people here also did not survive their rounds too, maybe?]

I wonder if we could get any information out of Hilda about it.

It's possible, but I have a feeling she'd tell us something along the lines of "figure it out for yourself."

[Rin seems to reach for something at her side, then halt the motion.]

Honestly, I've suspected that for some time now, too. And not just before, either, but perhaps more than once, given what you can find in the vending machine.

The majority of the items, if not all of them do seem like personal items.

One of them expressly is. It belonged to someone I know, but I made it myself. There should only be one like it, but I've seen it multiple times now.

That.... is not a good sign.

Yeah. It's bothered me for a while now.

There's a box of pictures, too. It's weird I've seen even that twice now, with the same photos. I even have two guitars with the same scratches. It's like they're perfect copies.

....The only conclusion I can come to is that the same group of people have been kidnapped over and over again, many different versions of them, and then they're...

[He brushes a hand through his hair.]

We need to stop this. Permanently.

[Yeah. She doesn't say anything to that theory, but it's clearly because it's the same one she's sat on herself for several weeks now. It might not be the exact same people each time; probably, it's a mix taken out of the same larger pool, several times over. Just how often do they do this?]

Then we should get to work. Jericho said we have as long as two months, but I don't trust that.

If he's eager to "take responsibility", let's not keep him waiting.
