Week 9.

WEEK 9

With another death to the timer and another double murder - accidental though that last part may have been - your numbers have been cut even further. Hibiki Ganaha, Sayaka Maizono, Alex, and Kyrie Ushiromiya are all dead, bringing those left alive from twelve down to eight. It's almost hard to believe this started with thirty-five people.

There are so few of you now.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

It seems that the pattern from last week is holding; there is no new floor to occupy yourselves with. It doesn't seem much else has changed, either - leading to questions that are uncomfortable but must be confronted. Namely, where do you go from here?

Is there anything you can do?

If you'd like to get in contact with the Coordinators, you can do so through private meetings with Hilda!]

Oh, did they get there? I knew she was planning on it and apparently it's not even arranged, as weird as that is.
notaccurate: (22)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2017-11-12 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
I'm glad I'm not the only one who found that weird. I've never heard of marrying for love at such a young age.
matchbreaker: (The Vision)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-11-12 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I've heard of plenty of fools considering it, Shakespeare even wrote a play about it. But I should think any kingdom worth their salt wouldn't allow it.

[ She laughs a little, spinning a hand in the air. ]

But then, she's a hero now, after a sort. And all that's left of the line.
notaccurate: (04)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2017-11-12 07:34 am (UTC)(link)
And heroes get to marry the ones they love, hmm?

[That sounds like something from those romance novels Luca has been turning his nose up towards.

Also, he totally missed his shot there, so he will back up from the table so Elda can go.
]
matchbreaker: (Waffle Crew)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-11-12 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
Why not? They can hold their might over people.

[ She says this with some amusement as she makes to line up her shot carefully here... ]
notaccurate: (79)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2017-11-12 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
But if they are using their might to get what they want, are they truly acting heroic?
matchbreaker: (Rare Hits!)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-11-12 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
Oh please, all of those classic heroes do their deeds and then get their rewards. Might pay for it later, but Gilgamesh and Dracula and Achilles still got fame and fortune.

[ Bam, shot! She manages to sink two there and not lose out. Nailed it. ]
notaccurate: (82)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2017-11-12 07:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Oooh, good shot. Luca even gives her a little bit of quiet applause there.]

Didn't the story of Achilles end in tragedy?

[And he's not even going to get into the Dracula thing, because Dracula was never a hero in the version he read.]
matchbreaker: (With a chicken wing...)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-11-12 07:52 am (UTC)(link)
I did say they paid for it later.

[ And... lining up her new shot here. She seems to be slow and deliberate about this, contrary to what you might expect from her personality.
notaccurate: (02)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2017-11-14 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
I would hope that Adelina doesn't have to face tragedy later.

[That girl has been through enough already.]
matchbreaker: (Notre Dame)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-11-14 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
Likewise. But then, no quest like that can fail to include tragedy. If people are happy, then they have no reason to set out, right?
notaccurate: (02)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2017-11-14 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
No, but it's much better when those quests end happily.
matchbreaker: (LAST ONE REMADE)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-11-14 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed!

[ And... there!

Oh good, she sunk her third ball. Hah! Time to line up her new shot.

... this new position sucks though, no way she'll make it, mmm. ]
notaccurate: (05)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2017-11-14 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
[Try your best, Elda!]

Do you think we will get happy endings?

[The eight of them left alive, at least. He hopes the others get one too, but reviving them may be impossible.]
matchbreaker: (Storm King's Thunder)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-11-14 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Yes.

[ She says it immediately, firmly. But then the minute she says it, she also starts to line up this shot and- ]

But I confess, I'm a poor person to ask.
notaccurate: (16)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2017-11-14 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
[Well now he's curious.]

Why?
matchbreaker: (Yin Yang Twins)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-11-14 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
If I'm "indomitable," it's only because I operate in certainty. [ she laughs a little, baring her fangs. She for some reason pictures Rin ]

I can't even consider failure - I refuse to. Remember when I was complaining about those letters people write? I've ... I've only ever written one, and I regret it still. So if you ask me if we'll win, of course I'll say yes. I'll go on thinking it even as my head's being lopped off. I'll make sure to break their ax.
notaccurate: (79)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2017-11-14 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I did specify 'we', but you could have easily said "I think I will get out, but not the rest of you". Though I suppose that just shows how fond you've grown of us, if you truly consider all of us together instead of counting the rest of us as separate from you.
matchbreaker: (Notre Dame)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-11-14 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
[ she hits it. And... like she thought, it knocks some stuff around, but nothing sinks. She sighs. ]

... I made that clear when I apologized.
notaccurate: (84)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2017-11-14 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
[She did, but Luca was still waiting to see if she followed through on it, or if it was just pretty words. Not that he's going to tell her that, of course.]

Aah, you did, yes.

[But it's his turn now, so he surveys the table for a bit, trying to decide on the best shot.]

Does that courtesy extend to family members? Or will I have to introduce you to Giovanni first before you decide on that?
matchbreaker: (the one below was the worse option)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-11-14 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
[ ah... ]

I'm still so uncertain about them. ... Not if it means we won't rescue them, but about why their ghosts aren't about here. Have none died, or are they apart even there? James must be dead by now.

[ Maybe if she keeps saying that, it'll hurt less. ]
notaccurate: (89)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2017-11-14 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps their ghosts are stuck wherever their game is? And even if he is dead, there might still be a chance for him.

[About as much of a chance as any of the ghosts here, but that's still a chance.

Also Luca is deliberately not thinking about the possibility that his son might be dead. He's not ready to face that thought yet.
]
matchbreaker: (Get off my dick)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-11-14 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, probably.

[ She hums ]

Based on the notes I took at that meeting, I suspect James is dead and then Tarrlok's man is either dead or leading them. Your son's almost definitely alive, and as for Rin's father... I'm torn as to if he's being useful or would have been taken out.
notaccurate: (08)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2017-11-14 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
It's only been a few weeks there, they wouldn't have had many deaths yet.

Though I am curious, why do you think your husband would be dead already?
matchbreaker: (Fear is the heart of love)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-11-14 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
For better or worse, the minute the killing starts, he's the first victim. Generously the second. The man...

[ Mmm. ] He died for his gentleness before. Either he'll have trusted someone he ought not have, or more likely he'll have protected someone and paid for it.
