RESISTANCE MEETING

[The clock chimes at 10PM as it always does, and if you're one of the people who decided to go to the meeting, you'll find the conference room is properly set up to accommodate all 27 remaining students. If you were expecting refreshments or anything then tough luck. Logan can't cook and the kitchen's closed now.

Logan has taken the chair at one end of the table because of course he has, but he'll wait until most people are gathered before speaking up.]

I'm sure you're all aware of why this meeting is absolutely necessary after that... announcement. What we need to do is share any information we have about this place and our captor. The Conductor will answer letters, but I have not gotten anything particularly useful from him.


(OOC: Consider this log to be like the trial; feel free to threadjack and comment on anything that comes up. Throw out theories and information and talk to each other about all of this stuff!)

What, like fighting alongside your pet monsters or something?

Something like that, yes. Though, I wouldn't really say I'd call them pets. It's... different, I suppose.

What else would they be?

It's a little more... nuanced than that, I guess. They're... more like trusted bodyguards, I'd say? There are people who don't battle with their Pokemon, so I think that relationship would be more like a relationship with a pet.

[ Jean doesn't quite get it... but he thinks he's getting closer. ] Like dogs trained to guard livestock?

I guess so? I don't really know how that dynamic would work out, but... we do have tougher Pokemon guard groups of weaker Pokemon sometimes.

I guess if they can do so many different things then they're more like partners than pets. [ That sounds pretty nice, actually. ]

Oh, definitely. I think the fact that all of you exist is proof that people can live without them, but it's proven to be a great symbiotic relationship for us back home.

There's really not anything like that where I'm from. Just regular animals - but listening to you and Blue talk, Pokemon are a lot smarter than that.

Huh... that's definitely a bit odd to think about, but I guess I don't really have that much of a frame of reference for what that would even be like.
