Final Investigation.
| Friday morning dawns like the rest of the week before it, with the chiming of the clock and the doors to the kitchen unlocking; once again, there's no announcement from Jericho, and everything seems to be largely quiet. Noticeably quiet, really, given that there are only eight of you left. However, quiet tends to be a good thing around here, overall; it means you're free to go about your business like you usually would. There are a couple of things to note, however, as your morning proceeds onward and begins to creep into afternoon. The first is that Rin's unlockable box has started making a strange mechanical whirring sound. The second is that sometime slightly after noon, the power to the building suddenly and abruptly goes out, casting everything into darkness. Interesting. |

Huh.]

If she looks at the door itself, is there anything strange or notable about it?]

Was yours locked?
[There's a chain dangling from Rin's hand. Looks like she found something.]

I was about to be incredibly frustrated. At least this key was easier to find.
[So she's walking over to take it from her.]

[Which makes Rin think that whatever's in that room is going to be very interesting... Well, she hands the key over to Adelina.]

[Once she has it, she's going to go ahead and put the key in the lock. Does it fit?]
no subject
[She'll duck back into the other section now.]

You going in, Adelina?]

This room appears to be incredibly dark, like several of the other sections of the building today; there are some of those dim emergency lights casting a weak yellow glow through the room, however, enough to make it clear that there's a table in the center of the room - just a very simple one, nothing heavy, no tricks to it. About as sturdy as your average card table. There's a chair in front of it, near you, and there appears to be another set up across from it, on the other side of the table.
There's someone sitting there; they don't seem to be doing anything, nor is there anything in front of them to occupy themselves with. Just someone sitting in the dark with their hands folded on the table and their head bowed slightly. It's hard to tell for sure in the dark exactly who it is, but from here? Well...
Let's say she looks like she might be familiar.]

She freezes in place for a moment, shocked, and she doesn't move forward quite yet. It's possible it's just her corpse, but with how they've been able to speak to people who have been killed here... She's tense and ready to move quickly should she need to.]
...Alena?
no subject
...Oh. Hello, Securing.
[She sounds about the same as she usually did, back before the...everything. As though nothing is weird about this at all.]
Did you need something?
no subject
[She tries to break through the surprise to appear somewhat normal, but even past how wrong all of this seems... The tone of her voice strikes her as strange, too.]
Alena... What happened to you?
no subject
[She still seems pretty even about it, though. Not quite that weird blank thing that she did sometimes, but a little too calm for the circumstances, despite the mild confusion.]
You can sit down, if you want.
no subject
[She's still extremely cautious as she comes to sit, but she does regardless.]
Would you tell me about it?
no subject
My sister did kill me, after all.
no subject
[There's something like sympathy on her face as she continues on.]
Which is why I'm certain that you understand how confusing it must be to see you again.
no subject
[Fidgeting...]
It isn't as though I'm angry about it, though. It had to happen, so it did.
no subject
[But she gives a small pause.]
But, given what happened... How are we speaking right now?
no subject
[...Alena, no.]
I'm always here, though. In one way or another.

[So much fidgeting.]
I can't really be killed, unless someone knows what they're doing.
no subject
[She trails off, frowns, and then continues.]
Does it have to do with the group you're a part of?
no subject
I don't think "immortal" is the right word, but maybe? I don't know, I've never really thought about it.
[...]
I guess the group has something to do with that, maybe. I do what I was put here to do.
