Initiative.
Rachel looks a bit conflicted about what should happen from here; Lisbeth is still on the floor, but she's told her what she should do, and so... Well, she's never really been good at saying no, though she does walk up and reach out to pet Lisbeth's hair gingerly for a moment before turning to everyone else. "We should leave." And with that, the courtroom changes, all at once; it was one thing, and then quite simply it isn't, and the podium circle has been replaced with a round spread of consoles wrapping around a center spire. The room is no longer concrete and steel, but rather stark white, all done up in glossy tile that looks like it'd crack if you hit it hard enough with something – that said, it's not recommended to try, given that it's just as indestructible as everything else in the building. Rachel approaches the consoles, reaching out to touch them, fingers tapping gently against several of the unmarked buttons; it's probably not precisely necessary for her to do so, given the state of things, but she seems to like doing it, so do it she shall. There are a pair of slots that look like keycards are required; she glances at them for a second before manipulating more buttons, causing a small panel to open up in front of her – it looks like an authorization mechanism of some sort, the kind that you press your hand against to get it to recognize you. "It's going to be a bit jarring when you wake up; sorry about that, but you've been asleep for a really long time. I'd suggest giving it a moment." She pauses, though, once that's out there, glancing back at everyone. "I'll be on the other side with you, but not like this. We can still talk, though, if you like." And with that she just turns and presses her hand against the panel without waiting for an answer; the next thing you're aware of is the flash. |

[ Yuri's figuring it has something to do with...his powers or maybe he's just making blind guesses for fun. Okay it really isn't the latter, but. ]
Anyway, you got a minute? There's something I want to talk to you about.
[ Obviously he figures Luca would, but. He means a little away from the group. ]
no subject
[No really, if Yuri knew Luca's world's magic he would be quite the extrovert indeed. He's almost disappointed that he probably won't ever see those results, since Luca isn't exactly the best person for teaching Sfeer Theory and there's no way in hell he's going back to his own world.]
Time is certainly something we all have a lot of right now, yes. So what's on your mind, then?
no subject
None of them are in any danger of meeting their death in a gruesome set up, he feels more a little more free now to think some more on the future. That said... ]
A lot of things are.
[ ... Good job explaining things, Yuri. But no, he'll get straight to the thing he wanted to talk about with Luca. ]
If you haven't decided to go elsewhere, maybe you should come along to my homeworld. I think you'd like it a lot there. Sure, it's not perfect or anything, but things are more peaceful there then it has been in awhile.
no subject
[There is just a tiny touch of cheekiness there. Tabby's offer is definitely tempting, but he can be convinced to go somewhere else.]
no subject
Eh, he'll give it a try. ]
Oh you know, if you're ever interested in being a researcher, you can get that as an official job in the Empire, and since it's full of less corrupt people in charge with Flynn and Ioder doing their thing, I'm sure it could be something you might wanna do.
[ ... ]
On the other hand, in my world you can travel practically almost anywhere you want if you just wanna go someplace. It's pretty easy to make a home wherever you wanna make happen, as long as you're willing to work for it.
There's the guilds too, and I'm a part of one. They're not exactly with the Empire, though they've been getting along better with them ever since that whole truce thing and things cooled down. With the guilds, you can join one and take on a job there, and there's less regulations then there'd be in the Empire if that's your sort of thing. Though they do have rules of their own, it's not something like 'you've gotta be up at 8 am in the damn morning' or something.
Plus, my world doesn't suck, you'll see some familiar faces, and it looks nice.
[ This is so simple and casual, he's not going to make it sound like the best thing since sliced bread because he's just. It is what it is. ]
no subject
Which is why the choice is so difficult: There is the promise of magic, and Tabby's pretty cool and Luca would like hanging out with her, but there's no guarantee that he would find a way to travel between worlds. The possibility is there, but he's learned not to rely solely on 'maybes'.]
Mmm, you drive a hard bargain. Honestly, before today I thought I was going to have to go off on my own when this was over. I didn't expect to have so many different choices.
no subject
Is that selfish? Mmmngh. ]
Well, there's a lot of people around and many worlds, so I guess that's why it ended up that way. I'm at least glad you're not going off on your own or anything -- not that I'm saying you couldn't handle being by yourself, but it's easier going along with at least somebody.
Anyway, there's no pressure. We've still got some time before you go ahead with deciding, right?
no subject
[Even if he can handle himself, he doesn't want on be lonely anymore.]
...
The sorcerer that Tabby knows, apparently he can make portals to other worlds. That would be quite a thing to have, hmm?
no subject
[ Everything is magically solved, if that's the case, right? Alright, no, not really. It still sounds like it might be iffy to him because who knows what can happen with that, but it also sounds to him like it's something Luca really wants to do.
He'll smile slightly. ]
If that's the case, then you may as well go along with her. If that's a thing he can do, you can just come over anytime for a visit. Maybe you can even show me anything you've managed to pick up from your learning session with the guy.
no subject
[He sighs.]
She might be wrong about that. And if she is, I would regret it. Immensely.
no subject
Luca's right about that -- one part of him is still telling him to let Luca run off and do whatever he wants if he wishes. Another part of him wants Luca to come along, though. That hasn't changed and he hasn't wanted to think about it too deeply because everything will work out.
But now he's thinking about it more. There's more uncertainties if he went elsewhere, and -- ]
...Yeah.
[ ... ]
Plus you know us more than you know her.
no subject
[He doesn't even want to think about what kind of guy she would try to set him up with. It's a little terrifying.]
no subject
[ ... The look on his face. Estelle doing that just makes him kind of...wow he doesn't even know what to do with that. ]
... Right, anyway.
You just come with us then. It's kind of obvious that things will be less of a pain and easier this way. Plus, it'd be weird not ever seeing you again, so.
no subject
[It's frightening. Help him, Yuri. Help him]
It's...tempting, even with Estelle's little plan. But...
[He makes a noncommittal noise as he glances away.]
Are you sure it would not be too awkward? A few years away might actually be what I need.
[To get over these stupid feelings, he means. That never stopped being a thing, even if he toned it back by a lot. He just keeps it bottled up inside now.]
no subject
[ Goodness, if it's not one thing, it's another. Well, Yuri will just rub the back of his head. ]
Anyway, if you're asking whether or not I think it's wise I'm just going to say 'yeah it is', because I just want you to come anyway. Especially since I'm still kinda not knowing what's gonna happen if you go to another world.
The decision's ultimately yours, yeah, so it's also very much 'do what you'd think would be best' -- I'm just giving you how I feel about it. Without the whole logic part of it now.
[ Plus it might give them time to talk about that. Which he doesn't say. ]
no subject
...
I really would like to go to your world, if I am being honest. I think I would miss you and Estelle a fair bit.
I suppose there is no way for me to convince the two of you to go with me instead?
no subject
[ Even if it was just a simulation, he's actually kind of tired. More than what he's been showing and it's not just because of the sudden drowsiness. All of this has taken a lot out of him.
He just wants to see his friends again, be sure that he will, and go home. ]
