Week 4.

WEEK 4 Ashley Williams and Asuka Langley Shikinami have joined the ranks of the deceased. Two more deaths, two more people whose absences will be felt by the group; a bit over one-fifth of the Participants are dead. And this week, it seems everyone is feeling it. They say three times can be considered a routine, and the fourth week of the exercise isn't breaking pattern any. Saturday can be given to rest and sleep; on Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock. There are no more bodies, no more bloodstains; there's nothing else to be found this morning. Unless, of course, you count whatever you found last night, strange dreams or otherwise. Once again, there's a new floor to explore; after everything that trial decided to be yesterday, you deserve the reward. And for the second time, there are rule changes, effective immediately. I wonder what else this place has to offer us.

It could simply be a pattern of "every few days," or "when a major change has been made," and so far that's just correlated with... that, yes.

It would certainly be nice if that was the case, but I doubt the Conductor is feeling generous.

He's having just as hard a time of it, isn't he? Perhaps Tabitha's right about who he's answering to.

I've been dead-set on believing that he's the only person behind this, but I... suppose that it's a possibility I need to seriously consider.

[It would be so much easier to pin all of his hatred and anger on one man that they can see behind the window down in the basement.]

I do wonder if he's right about a god being behind this. I've never met one, but I've never heard of one who throws murder games.

"Gods" are a concept we haven't had in Albion for years. I've read a little about them, but it's certainly odd to think that something with so much power would want to watch this.

Don't they mainly just have local spheres of influence, anyway, not across worlds? Though I suppose the idea is different depending on where you are.

[decrees]

I'm not sure. Perhaps this is merely the god of the area this game is taking place in? It's certainly a confusing concept.

Precisely. I don't have any idea if this world even works the way mine does.

It seems as though it doesn't operate on any sort of Albion logic, at least.

How are things different from where you come from, then?

[decrees]

Well, there's the fact that gods simply don't exist in Albion, but the technology here is different as well. It's more advanced than what I'm used to.
