Week 4.

WEEK 4 Ashley Williams and Asuka Langley Shikinami have joined the ranks of the deceased. Two more deaths, two more people whose absences will be felt by the group; a bit over one-fifth of the Participants are dead. And this week, it seems everyone is feeling it. They say three times can be considered a routine, and the fourth week of the exercise isn't breaking pattern any. Saturday can be given to rest and sleep; on Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock. There are no more bodies, no more bloodstains; there's nothing else to be found this morning. Unless, of course, you count whatever you found last night, strange dreams or otherwise. Once again, there's a new floor to explore; after everything that trial decided to be yesterday, you deserve the reward. And for the second time, there are rule changes, effective immediately. [ He'll come right on in, then — and since she's at her desk, he'll stand nearby; he isn't just going to plop his butt down on somebody else's bed without permission (he's not that rude), so he'll just lean against the wall nearby. ]

Did you have those memory dreams again, too?

Yeah. I remember meeting Kaneki-kun.

[ There's a pause as he seems to go through a cycle of internal "well that's not that weird" followed by "no, that's actually kind of a really weird coincidence?" and then looping back a few times, judging by the expression on his face. ]

... But neither of you recognized each other when we got here, right?

[shuttermouse]

[ She shakes her head, idly playing with the collar of her shirt as she speaks. ]

Nope. We were wondering what possibly could be connecting us since we were from the same place, but we couldn't figure it out. Now I have memories of our first meeting, but they raise a few questions - the Kaneki-kun I met had white hair.

White hair — so what does that mean? Either that he's not naturally dark-haired, or...

[ Bakugou knows how much this sounds like an incredibly unlogical thing to say before he even says it, but. ]

... There's some kinda crazy time jumping shit at play here?

[shuttermouse]

I don't know exactly what happened, but his hair lost its colour at some point.

[ In other words, there's probably some crazy time jumping shit going on. ]

He died here before his hair changed, so either we have some sort of time paradox or Kaneki-kun and I are from parallel universes.

This might sound really fucking stupid, but there's no chance that Kaneki's not actually dead, is there?

[ Maybe Kaneki is playing a big trick on all of us!! ... Yeah, no, that definitely sounds stupid. ]

... Somehow that's even more idiotic-sounding than a parallel universes theory.

...That's really stupid, Bakugou-kun. [ Please think before you open your mouth next time. ]

Hey now, most people would say that about meeting a parallel universe version of somebody too, you know?

[ ... Point taken, though. ]
