Week 4.

WEEK 4 Ashley Williams and Asuka Langley Shikinami have joined the ranks of the deceased. Two more deaths, two more people whose absences will be felt by the group; a bit over one-fifth of the Participants are dead. And this week, it seems everyone is feeling it. They say three times can be considered a routine, and the fourth week of the exercise isn't breaking pattern any. Saturday can be given to rest and sleep; on Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock. There are no more bodies, no more bloodstains; there's nothing else to be found this morning. Unless, of course, you count whatever you found last night, strange dreams or otherwise. Once again, there's a new floor to explore; after everything that trial decided to be yesterday, you deserve the reward. And for the second time, there are rule changes, effective immediately. I know. In some ways I wish I could return to Albion and not remember any of this.

[He'd be so much better off if that could be a thing. He'd have no idea what happened to Reaver, but he'd be mad that Reaver vanished instead of... anything that's happening right now.]

...Unfortunately, I can't say I truly want that either. I've met many incredible people here. I wouldn't want to forget the majority of you.

That's true. Even if what we're going through isn't something anybody would want. I don't know what to do but move forward. Isn't that right?

[decrees]

Yes. That's all we can do at this point. We move forward, and we try to get as many people out of here as possible.

...It will be difficult to keep moving forward the longer this goes on. All we can do is keep our heads up and be strong. The others will follow.

[That's what a king does, anyway. You fake it 'til you make it.]

We've gotten this far in this mess. We may well need to be examples if no one's to fall for that incentive he gave us.

[decrees]

I'm not as worried about this one, though I'm certain he wouldn't give it to us if it wouldn't hurt at least one person here.

I suppose so. Everyone's got some kind of secret, even if it is silly.

[decrees]

I will admit that had this happened earlier, I would be very concerned. But as it stands now... I believe any secrets I have are not important enough to kill for.

[Everyone's going to find out in a year anyway.]

So we'll go on, then.

[She hesitates and takes a handful of chicken feed, sprinkling it on the ground and waiting for the chickens to come up.]

And if someone does kill, we'll need to prepare for that.

[decrees]

...Of course.

[And someone will kill, because there's no way we can go a week in this place without someone killing.]

For now we'll just have to continue doing what we can.

Of course.

[She stands and watches the chickens for a while.]

Whatever that ends up being.

...Perhaps we'll have something more to go on eventually.

[People are getting information out of the Conductor and finding things, like Jean's book from the library. Maybe eventually...

Well, it's something to consider, anyway.]
