Week 5.
Two more are gone this week. Luna and Chie Hori have joined those who are present only in memory now, and their passing seems to have left a lot of emotions raw and exposed. But as usual, the group has at least a little bit of time to recover. Saturday can be dedicated to rest and sleep; on Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock. The stairwells are clear of bodies; there's no more death to be dealt with for the time being. Unless, of course, you happened to recover something particularly unfortunate in your dreams... Once again, there's a new floor to explore; your reward for doing your job well. And since you've survived for a month now, you are doing your job well. However, the new floor isn't the only thing that's changed; there are a few things about the building that seem a little...off. A few things that weren't there before might be, or a few things that should be there aren't; you'll just have to see what the week brings, won't you? That is, if you're not going to be investigating all the goings-on personally... |

INVESTIGATION...INVESTIGATION 100 YEARS

So he walks to his grandfather's room, a look of resolution on his face as he prepares himself probably for another fight over something dumb -- when he notices the door ajar.
Normally, he'd be worried something happened to Rick. It's kind of late, this place is FULL of murder waiting to happen.. but the milk carton in the door says otherwise. He was probably just on a beer run, so Morty should probably go find him in the bar....
...oooor he could close Rick's door for him. From the inside. Yeah, he's just doing Rick a favour because surely Rick wouldn't want someone snooping or anything!
So he opens the door and steps inside, not moving the carton and closing the door because lets be real that's not actually what he's here for.
Anything noticeably weird? He's been in here before but never got a real look around..]

You've got the standard amenities, which is not saying much, considering the sparse state of the room itself. Though it seems as though all of Rick's vending machine junk has been piled into trunk by the bed, considering it looks as though it's threatening to burst open any second now.]

It is actually pretty surprising how Rick is tidy, but not something Morty isn't unused to. The garage has always been neat, so it's not a super stretch that his bedroom would be neat too. Just kind of weird.
Anyway, he'll go for the trunk first -- mostly out of curiosity. Rick doesn't ever share what he gets from the vending machine with Morty and this'll probably be the only chance he sees, so he's just gonna pop it open and see what's inside.]

The handbook raises a question, and he flips through the pages curiously.]

But that's okay, he'll spend a minute reading the first page before getting bored and setting it aside. He continues to dig around, taking stuff out and setting them besides or behind him. He.. he's making a mess.
Is there anything to note the further down he gets?]
no subject
...wait, that's another thing he can pull out, it looks like.]

He sets the whip aside, looking very disturbed and digs out the other two items. Well, looks like this search was only good for making a mess out of everything...
...huh. The bottom of the trunks aren't supposed to be orange?
Morty shifts so he's sitting on his knees, the trunk kind of high against the boy's short stature so it's easier to get a better look at what was at the bottom. He reaches both hands in and pulls at what's down there, feeling kind of nervous that it's coming out so easily...]

It's a prison jumpsuit. One that has the words "Galactic Federation and "Maximum Security" emblazoned on the back of it.]

He hasn't seen a prison suit quite like this one before, so just by looking at it from the front he has no idea what to even think. Though, he flips it over and reads the backing... "Galactic Federation"......
Where did he hear those words before? On one of their adventures? Did Rick mention it here, in the academy...?
...wait. Wait. In the van - while they were making an escape, he mentioned that the Galactic Federation was after them. This jumpsuit belonged to them.]
What....?
[He holds the jumpsuit close, reading the words over and over as he tried to figure out what this all meant. If Rick had a prison suit from the Federation then.. he was caught? But he said he was going out for ice cream? And though Morty knew better - knew that he wasn't going to come back he... there was no way Rick would know that he was going to get caught.
Right?]

Is there anything more we want to take a look at here, Morty, or are we done?]
no subject
emotionally compromiseddistracted with this, he probably won't look anywhere else.Unless like... there's something extremely off-putting about his bed or something.]

He'll kind of haphazardly shove the jumpsuit into the bottom of the trunk, along with the rest of Rick's junk before leaving. The last thing he needs is to leave a giant mess and have Rick yell at him for snooping around in his things...]
