Week 6.

WEEK 6

Losing three people in one week isn't very nice, is it? Morty Smith, Rakka, and Dio Brando have all joined the deceased. It will be hard to forget them. It will be even harder to forget that execution and Dio's flying, screaming head.

Life must go on though and as usual, the group has at least a little bit of time to recover. Saturday can be dedicated to rest and sleep; on Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock. The stairwells are clear of bodies; there's no more death to be dealt with for the time being. Unless, of course, you happened to recover something particularly unfortunate in your dreams...

Once again, there's a new floor to explore; your reward for doing your job well.

Some of your antics have resulted in more rule changes, effective immediately. You might want to avoid breaking those if you're fond of staying alive.

But then again, there are ghosts. Maybe dying wouldn't be so bad after all.

So they really are like our ghosts. They're not alive, but not really dead enough to be considered dead dead. [ Good job with words there, kid. ] ... I wonder what's keeping them around, though. Maybe this is because of that God that the Conductor talks about sometime?
oftheland: (this guy's asking for the beedrill)

[personal profile] oftheland 2015-12-10 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Something like that, yes. I mean, it's possible that Ghost Pokemon just share qualities that tend to be associated with ghosts, but... you know how it is.

I think that some sort of godlike being keeping them tied to this place makes as much sense as anything else, though I suppose the question that would spring from that is "why?"
blazeit: (needs more...... EXPLOSIONS.)

[personal profile] blazeit 2015-12-10 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Well, apparently the Conductor messed up something so bad that he pissed God off sometime in the past. So maybe he's just continuing to fuck around with the Conductor, and we're caught in the middle?
oftheland: (though... you'd be the best admin)

[personal profile] oftheland 2015-12-10 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
...You know, I have been wondering if he actually has a choice in this matter, given that context. I'm not going to say that it affects my feelings on the matter either way, but it's definitely something that I've been considering.

Like if he has a choice in running this shitshow? ... Well, he did tell me that the exercise is a reward, but it does feel like there's stuff happening beyond his control lately. And thinking back, even when we first got here, he was kinda confused why some of us said the profiles were wrong and stuff like that.
oftheland: excuse the mascara (heh.)

[personal profile] oftheland 2015-12-11 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Really, now? Well, I guess watching all of this must at least be entertaining, though I do agree that things don't seem to be going quite the way he planned. Maybe he should've researched a few of us a little more closely before deciding on how to deal with us.

...or at least the one where decapitation isn't instantly lethal, anyway.
blazeit: (get away from me with ur teen angst)

[personal profile] blazeit 2015-12-11 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, he... did kind of fuck that one up good. Which is weird, when you consider how he said he probably knows more about us than we know about ourselves... I guess the real question is, why aren't things going right for him?
oftheland: (but that is not how type matchups work)

[personal profile] oftheland 2015-12-11 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe he has some sort of karmic allowance, and the further he goes in this the more likely someone is to turn into some sort of strobe light when they should be dying.
blazeit: (wtf at bakugou's baby fat)

[personal profile] blazeit 2015-12-12 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Man, at this point I wouldn't even be that surprised if that actually happened, it'd just be like "oh wow, another thing that makes no fucking sense. Whatever."

Actually, depending on how ironic he wanted to make my theoretical death, I probably could light this place up like a Christmas tree..
oftheland: excuse the mascara (heh.)

[personal profile] oftheland 2015-12-13 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
At the very least, it would probably be nice if that were the case.

... and well, I'm sure that there are plenty of ways that one can put on a pretty good show upon death, so I really have to hope that any future murderers consider it.
blazeit: (i might be a bastard but you're stupid s)

[personal profile] blazeit 2015-12-13 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, they could at least, like... try and take some of those shadow fuckers out on their way.

[ At least they won't be disappointed at the end of the week... ]
oftheland: (unlimited smug works)

[personal profile] oftheland 2015-12-14 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
If you're going to put all the rest of us at risk, you may as well at least try and make it up to us.
blazeit: (the truth is i hate u and wish u'd die)

[personal profile] blazeit 2015-12-14 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. It'd make me at least 20% less annoyed at putting all our lives on the line like that.
oftheland: no crimelording here! (why officer i'm completely law-abiding)

[personal profile] oftheland 2015-12-15 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
I think I could go up to 50, quite honestly. Maybe they could do us a favor and not die in the process?
