WEEK 3.

WEEK 3

You all got to witness Yosuke Hanamura's death earlier this past week. You know what the punishment for breaking the rules is. With Chitoge Kirisaki and Blue's deaths, you're painfully aware of just how little trust this group really has. How long until someone kills again? What about that time limit the Coordinators imposed? Will there be another incentive?

There are so many questions, but not a whole lot of answers.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

And when you wake up, you'll discover that a pattern seems to be emerging, at least as far as the building itself goes; a new floor is available to you, a stairwell across a short hallway from the one on the second floor having unlocked itself. There's not too much of a question about it as a result - at least, as far as what it means.

It's definitely a reward.

I'm not the kind of person who says empty words. If I say it, I mean it.

[She sounds especially emphatic about that. It seems questioning the sincerity behind her words bothered her, because she gets a bit forceful]

Don't you dare pretend to know how other people will react. You can't be certain their reactions will be as bad as they'll be.
destage: (GLARE ♡ Okay you can die now)

[personal profile] destage 2017-09-26 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
[Even if she realizes that she's...probably not helping matters any, Sayaka doesn't back down.]

Sure, because everyone's reaction to Blue-san was simply forgiveness and a hunky dory 'it's going to be okay, it's not your fault'? Do not give me that. Any respectable person would think it's absolutely disgusting.

[...She pauses a bit, the fight...kind of leaving her.]

...I've known it for years, too. Anything you can say or anything that you do can be used against you in any way that's seen fit.

Are you comparing a person's imminent death to your situation?

[Kyrie listened patiently, but she does seem a bit annoyed]

Of course it can. That's just how society works. What are you going to do about it?
destage: (BITE ♡ I hate this; I hate me)

[personal profile] destage 2017-09-26 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
That's not what I'm trying to say! I'm talking more about what she told us...that you need to look out for yourself, and never trust anyone--no one showed any sort of sympathy for that, and even tried to deny it, even if it's the truth. And now everyone's going to see why she said that.

[Great, that's just making her anger again. She's screwing up.]

What can I do?! Nothing! I can't do a single thing! It's the same as it ever was, that the only ones in control are on the top and all you can do is follow along and take it with a smile!

...I didn't think you'd be the type to roll over and let that happen. Even in the unlikely event they actually say a word about whatever you're hiding, you really are going to accept what'll come just because you're not on top?

[Kyrie, what the hell, this isn't the time for this]
destage: (SONG ♡ This one goes out to my life)

[personal profile] destage 2017-09-27 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Of course. It's not like I have a choice in the matter. I never did, and...honestly, I never will. That's just the way the world works.

[...it probably isn't but uh. Whoops.]

[Kyrie sighs, thinking what to say next. After a moment...]

Dealing with a scandal is all about not showing how it affects you. There are three rules:

One is to never admit fault. The moment you admit anything is the moment it's all over for you.

The second is to always remember there'll be someone supporting you no matter what, no matter who you are or what you did. Look for those who support you.

And third is that scandals don't last forever. The public is fickle, they're not going to focus on it forever. No matter how bad it is, it'll be forgotten.

That's all you have to remember.

[It sounds like Kyrie's speaking from experience]
destage: (SOLEMN ♡ no really I deserve the void)

[personal profile] destage 2017-09-27 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
[...Congratulations, Kyrie.

That actually manages to throw her entirely. The sad part is, that's a part of her secret, or at least a piece of it. Usually she's...not someone to get caught in the crossfires of these, because people can be bribed, paid off, or generally tipped off to something more interesting.

That second point in particular is just...well, she's not sure if it'll work here, but the first and third at least do a good job of kind of...supporting it? It's nice, actually.

It...takes a couple of seconds, on Sayaka's end, but...she's going to bow her head deep.]

I apologize for reacting so irrationally, Ushiromiya-san. You didn't deserve that, and it was completely out of line of me. I'll be certain to remember your words.

[granted the first point's gonna be moot as shit because she told Elda but]

I can't blame you for lashing out. You're under a lot of stress, it's natural to do that.
destage: (HMM ♡ That doe eyed anime look)

[personal profile] destage 2017-09-27 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
...It's still incredibly cruel.

[She'll...lift her head up, though, a small smile trying to find it's way back on her face.]

Um...thank you, truly. I'm used to having...well, I suppose a little more control of a given situation, I suppose I could say.

[Kyrie plays with a lock of her short hair, looking away]

...I can relate to that. I'm not a controlling person by any means, but I can understand that. [She smiles fondly] That's where success comes from, from having control of your situation.

destage: (DAZED ♡ What day is it again)

[personal profile] destage 2017-09-27 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
...It's a bit much, sometimes. Being here, and in this situation. It can really get to someone's head in an instant. It sure got to mine...

[...She's gonna take a sip of tea. Poor thing's probably gone cold at this point, but she doesn't like the idea of wasting anything.]

Between you and me, I think there's nobody here who isn't affected by anything happening here. It's just that some people are better at hiding their feelings.
