trustfell | WEEK 3.

WEEK 3
You all got to witness Yosuke Hanamura's death earlier this past week. You know what the punishment for breaking the rules is. With Chitoge Kirisaki and Blue's deaths, you're painfully aware of just how little trust this group really has. How long until someone kills again? What about that time limit the Coordinators imposed? Will there be another incentive?

There are so many questions, but not a whole lot of answers.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

And when you wake up, you'll discover that a pattern seems to be emerging, at least as far as the building itself goes; a new floor is available to you, a stairwell across a short hallway from the one on the second floor having unlocked itself. There's not too much of a question about it as a result - at least, as far as what it means.

It's definitely a reward.

Do you think they'll really reveal our secrets?

I see no reason why they wouldn't. I imagine several of us have things worth killing for, but I also think a few more may have things worth being killed over, if you follow.

I do. That's what I was thinking as well.

[Still, he kind of hoped Kimblee would disagree...]

I suppose there isn't really much to be done about it.

[Which is the worst part, really. It's either kill someone or wait and see what happens and Archer's never been good at leaving things in someone else's hands.]

I can think of a few things to do about it, really.

[It isn't worth killing over is what he wants to say, but that's absolutely not true. His secret is absolutely worth killing someone over and who knows just how bad Kimblee's is.

Instead he falls silent, staring at his notes in irritation for a moment before he finishes folding them up and shoving them in his pocket.]

They certainly aren't taking it easy on us this week.

In what way is yours going to provide an inconvenience?

[It's sudden, really, but it isn't without thought behind it. Like, is this going to suck for you here, is it going to suck back in Amestris, is it an unholy combination of both, is it the sort of thing that's going to get you killed, what are we looking at.]

It's going to be dreadful for me both here and back home. It will most likely be career-ending back home.

[And now that he's said that... the reality of the situation really begins to sink in.]

...As for here... I assume the others will take it poorly. I'm not sure just how true it is, but that will do little to change their minds after they've heard it.

[All right. That's one thing.]

And if you decide you want to act on it, do you want me to try to stop you, or do you want me to leave you to your attempt?

Everything he's worked so hard for could be over in a flash. But does he really want to play this game? Does he want to try killing someone when he's never done anything like that before?

Does he want Kimblee to stop him if he attempts?]

...I'm not sure. I need some time to think about it.

[He absently moves to check the sleeves of his uniform, even though they're already perfect. He needs to do something with his hands.]

[It doesn't settle him, but that seems genuine enough. You need time, that's fine.]

We have an agreement to work toward mutual benefit. Should you want me to prevent you from doing anything, I will.

If you decide to act, however, I will vote you out with the others. I'd expect you to do the same to me, of course.

Of course. I don't expect you to go that far.

[It would be stupid to think Kimblee would vote for anyone other than the culprit and if he really did try to kill someone... well, he'd probably be caught, right? They've managed it twice before.]

I'll give you my answer as soon as I have it. I appreciate it.

I can't guarantee that I won't act on it myself, but I suppose I can cross that bridge when I come to it.

That's understandable. The same goes for you as well; I won't hesitate to vote for you, but if you'd like me to leave you to your attempt, I will.

If I get it into my head that I want to kill someone over this, I don't want to be stopped, no.

[So there's his answer on that; he seems...very firm on that matter, honestly.]

You seem remarkably calm about all of this.

[That...just gets a bit of an odd look, really.]

It's for the best that you are, but given the situation it would be understandable if you were upset.

[...Okay. That seems to settle him a little, at least.]

I don't see any sense in upsetting myself over it, I suppose. It won't improve the situation any, and I doubt I can afford to be compromised this week. That's all.

You're very lucky you can control it to that extent. To be honest, I'll most likely be something of a mess for at least the rest of the day.
