WEEK 4 Walter White and Fern Green have joined the deceased. Their losses will be felt, just like all the deaths before them. While you might be tempted to put that mess of a trial out of your heads, it's hard to forget what happened. It's even harder to ignore the secrets that have been revealed, still burned into the wall of the dining room. You all have a lot to discuss, don't you? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... The past week's trial seemed to be hard on everyone, including your captors, it seems that you're still being rewarded for your work; a new floor has been opened up to you, and along with it the return of the uneasy sense that they approve of what you're doing here: killing each other, picking one another off, singling each other out in the trials. It's likely not a pleasant feeling, knowing you're giving them what they want. But what else is there to be done? PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 28

About five seconds ago. Regrettably for you, I've been well trained to detect both vampires and a potential sneak attack.

[ Five seconds... so that's even before she came around that last shelf? She wonders if it was her footsteps? She's always prided herself on them being light...? Maybe it's just a sixth sense.

She exhales. ]

I learned that on the first day, but I had hoped this setting might make it easier.

Nothing, really. It's pure chance - I happened to notice you were in here, so I opted to test my skills.

[ . . . a beat ]

What's your relation to the mage girl?

The Tohsaka family is a close friend of my own. Her parents passed about a decade ago, and she has been in my guardianship ever since.

[matchbreaker]

[ That... is not at all what she was expecting, and it shows on her face for a moment before she presses her lips together and nods. ]

So that makes you her... what, father? Steward, I suppose is more the case.

Steward is close enough, effectively. Why do you ask?

Circumstances [ Some of which might be what came up mid last trial, based on her expression going a bit more awkward ] forced me to consider what greater connection there might be between you two. It had me curious.

That's all it is.

That's hardly a mere "all," it's a unique relationship compared to what most everyone else here has. Even with your apparent circumstances.

And your point is? I can hardly say I have any influence over whatever choices were made in those that were brought here. I can call it no more than 'coincidence' with the limited information we have.

Oh I agree, at least as far as Jericho and the like's side of things.

[ She rests her chin on her palm. ]

I'm more curious about what that means for your ability to cooperate.

We coexist reasonably well. Though I doubt she would be the first to shed a tear were I to turn up dead.

[matchbreaker]

Yeah? [ She hums ] I can't say I know one way or the other. I'm just thinking about how you make for being natural allies.

[blackmass]

'Allies' is surely a term she would take issue with, but you have a point.

Okay, so let's define terms. What terms would you or her use?

[ She asks, leaning against a bookshelf. Wow. ]

She is the daughter of my former teacher, and I am effectively her legal guardian. That is the black and white reality of it, no more or less.

[ . . . Wow. Okay, whatever. She nods, because it's not like she'll get much more out of a guy like this. She sort of shrugs it off and... ]

[ Exhale. She'll just crouch down here then. She seems to be expecting return questions from him. ]
