It's time for an after party!

[About an hour after the trial and subsequent execution, Cabanela makes a decision.

They need to do something, keep the morale up, however little it may be.

Under each occupied room door people will find the following note written:


In difficult times such as this, it is important to carry on.
Don't give into despair; we must preservere.
If you don't want to be alone this evening, meet me in the dining hall.

[Upon entering the dinning hall, you will find Cabanela sitting at one of the tables; he has lit two candles that are placed at the center of the table, but there's nothing else to note.

You'll have to supply your own food, since he doesn't have much of an appetite.]

[Elise is required to come, of course, just as with any invitation. There's no way she's supplying any food, not after that disaster with the cream puffs, but she'll show up in the dining hall and sit down.]

We're still here, it seems.

Yeah.

[Elise is probably in her situation, too. A farm manager. An idol. They aren't kings or cops or heroes, they're just normal people.

So she'll try to make herself useful.]

Do you want me to make you some tea again?

It would be nice. All of this going on... And I was just thinking we ought to just sit and talk before anyone moved.

[From a statement like that, Elise must not want to be left alone...]

Well, we can go together. C'mon, let's get movin'! I'll have somethin' to drink in no time.

I suppose. [She gets up from her place.] You do this a lot, then? Well, I suppose someone has to make the tea at your house if you don't have anyone else to help.

[nankurunaisa]

Yeah! Every mornin', I make food from scratch for all of my pets before the sun rises.

[And then she's pushing into the kitchen, holding the door open for Elise.]

And then I have to take a train to work...I'm always makin' everything myself unless I buy something while I'm at work.

[Elise trails after.] I couldn't imagine it. How do you get the time to learn this?

[nankurunaisa]

Where did I get the time? I guess it's more like I made the time for it. When I lived in Okinawa, it was somethin' I really wanted to learn! And every time I get a new pet, I do all sorts of research...it's a lot of work, but it's really rewarding.

[And that gives her a small idea. She's getting things down so she can make tea, but.]

Do you wanna learn how I make tea?

...I suppose it couldn't hurt. I mean. It isn't as if we'll.

[Be out right away.]

We'll be fine!

[She cuts in quickly, filling a teapot with water. She's sure Elise knows how to that much, at least.]

We'll be fine, but it'll still be fun to learn anyways, right? But first the water has to boil.

Ah-- yes! Right. We'll have to switch on the stove, then. [She's learned that over the week, at least...] Does it matter which burner?

We're gonna need to turn on the front two!

[Why two? Hibiki has a tea-making secret!]

We have green tea leaves, so we'll work with those, okay?

Two? Well, all right... [She turns the stove on and nods.] Okay, and fill the kettle with water. Then what?

Uh huh. [Rakka was here too, of course. Being in a place with other people was preferable to staying alone in her book. Safer too, possibly.]

Would you like anything? [She's already gotten herself something to drink, by the looks of it.]

Ah, if you've got anything. [Not going to bring up the disaster that was her own attempt at baking...] We do have to eat.

[Just let her dig through the fridge. There was something.... aha!

she pulls out... a little container of red-colored ice and a spoon.]

I got this from the vending machine a little while ago?

Shaved ice? From the vending machine -- and it kept cool in there?

[charcoalfeather]

Well.... uh huh.

[SHE DIDN'T QUESTION IT.]

If they could make a vending machine impossibly preserve that sort of thing, they could very well have gotten us a washer.

Hmm, maybe that's the point?

The point is making us use washboards?

I was thinking more about getting us to work?

That's got nothing to do with the object of the game either.

No, no! It's about... well...

[Augh, she's lost now. Maybe there was a good answer in there somewhere, but she's lost track of it.]
