Week 2.
Two people are dead. Ken Kaneki has been murdered, Reaver has been executed - and perhaps most uncomfortably, the Conductor is proud of you all for adhering to due process. (As always, by which he means that there is a process, and you all are certainly doing it.) Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, once you've shaken that off, there are new things to be looked at; the previously closed-off area near the kitchen has been unlocked, and there's a new floor to be explored - consider it your reward for a job well done. |

Well that was... a dream. A weird one. He was expecting nightmares about that or perhaps about Reaver's execution and the way the shadows moved and the darkness and-- But that didn't happen. For whatever reason his brain decided he really needed to kill Major Swift for... some reason.
Dislikes: traitors. Likes: executions.
How disgusting.
Logan doesn't leave his room in the morning, instead he exits from Reaver's. Why was he in Reaver's room? Don't ask questions. It definitely wasn't because he wanted to lie on Reaver's bed and be creepy, nope. His first stop is mail room, where he'll take a moment to examine the new box there and take the Silver Key for room 15. That will be a bit better than leaving the door open.
He'll be in Reaver's room for a good part of the day examining the items he got from the machine, but he doesn't have the door open. Reaver's room is right next to his own, so if you're looking for him you might want to try this room instead of his own, because this is apparently how badly Logan's life is sucking right now.
Eventually he'll leave Reaver's room to explore the second floor, though the only room that holds any interest for him is the library. Logan's not reading any of the books that can be found in there, though. Instead he's got something else with him, something with a interesting logo on the cover. He's going to be slouched in one of those chairs reading this book for quite some time, despite the fact that he's still wearing the chestplate and that's probably pretty uncomfortable. Occasionally he almost looks sort of happy, though the expression doesn't last for long before he's back to looking blank. This is how he's coping with losing his only friend, alright. He's going to be a mess forever.]

Logan's the only person he knows who probably owns a sword, and the stone certainly looks like something that would be fitted into a sword-- it's much too small to be a paperweight, at any rate.
He clears his throat carefully to get Logan's attention.]
I think I maaay have found something that might be of interest to you.
[He honestly has no idea if he's right or not, but it's better than just letting the thing collect dust.]
no subject
What is it?
[That... certainly looks like a stone, huh. It's kind of pretty.]
no subject
[So much for that idea.]
It looks like something you would set into the hilt of a weapon, probably as a decoration. Like a sword or somethin'.
[Or a gun.]
no subject
[Headtilt. That sounds... sort of familiar, actually.]
May I see it?
[Holding it probably won't do any good, but he's curious and he tends to think better when he's pacing or messing with something.]
no subject
[He hands the stone to Logan without hesitation.
It probably belongs to someone from a vaguely medieval world, and unfortunately he hasn't spoken extensively with everyone; but he figures this is his best be even so.]
no subject
It might be something from Albion, though I cannot say for certain. My mother owned weapons with spaces for something like this, I believe, but...
[Why would they be in the machine if he doesn't recognize them? Either they belong to someone else, or--]
Ah, I wonder if it's Reaver's? --Was Reaver's.
[Maybe someday he'll be better about the past tense.]
no subject
If it belonged to Reaver, maybe you should hold onto it.
I can't say he'd appreciate me being the one to have it.
[At.... least he's honest?!]
no subject
I'll keep it then. Thank you.
[His hands are shaking and it's impossible to hide it, but Logan's expression and voice remain composed.]
...How are you doing?
[It's an awkward question, but he's... trying. He isn't sure if he wants to talk about anything that's been happening in his head, so maybe it'll be better to focus on someone else for awhile.]
no subject
[He doesn't answer right away, because to tell the truth, he really doesn't know himself.]
I've... been holding up, I suppose.
[He'd had a bizarre stress dream, but he's not going to discuss that. Not right now, anyway, because that would just be... awkward.]
no subject
I imagine this can't be easy for any of us. I... am hardly in the best state to look after anyone else at the moment.
[That's difficult to admit and Logan runs a hand back through his hair.]
I know the others must be terrified, especially the children. Many of the people here have attempted to offer me some assistance in... dealing with this, but I'm afraid this isn't something I will ever be okay with.
[He's never going to be okay again, actually. He's fucked up literally everything in his life and that's led to his only friend dying and his country doomed to destruction.]
...I will continue to do what I can for everyone.
[That's all he has left, really.]
no subject
[It's a gentle warning, because while Cabanela doesn't mind taking charge between the two of them, but if the next person to go is someone important to him, well...
He's already lost someone he cares about.]
It's... different, I know, the circumstances are completely different, but I understand what you're going through.
If you would like, we can discuss this more in private, of course.
[Because this isn't the sort of thing he wants to talk about when children can hear it. The last thing he wants to do is upset people more.]
It's ooonly an offer, of course. I'm not gonna force you.
no subject
[He doomed his country, sacrificed his only friend, and he's still stuck here trying to stay sane and that's fighting a losing battle. It doesn't matter who dies here; nothing can be as awful as what he's already lived through. There's nothing in the words though, they're stated as a fact.]
I... I'm not sure I'm up to that now. There is a good deal I would have to explain and I... couldn't. Not then and not now.
[It would have helped, wouldn't it? If he'd just allowed Reaver to explain the situation back home, maybe... No. It won't do to think about it like that.]
My apologies. I do appreciate the offer.

[Logan marks his page with a folded piece of paper and sets the book down in his lap. He's not taking his hands off it and he's certainly not handing it over for Giovanni to examine. Sorry.]
I received this from the machine earlier today. It's Reaver's autobiography.
[...To be honest he's not sure he believes any of this book is nonfiction.]
no subject
...but wow, that timing.]
...ah, that's... well, I'm sure it's probably entertaining, at least.
But I don't know, there's a lot of things I'm willing to believe... and there are also a lot of things I'll accept are probably embellished.
no subject
[To uh. Put it nicely...]
Some of this is so ridiculous I can't help but believe it.
[REAVER WOULD MAKE UP A LOT OF SHIT but picking off the captain of a ship from really far away is totally something he could do.]
no subject
[...Giovanni you... do realize what this says about you, don't you]
no subject
[Giovanni, he's not even sure what part of Reaver you wanted to get to know. The really weird embarrassing depraved bisexual part?? The unrepentant egotistical asshole part?? The gigantic nerd part-- okay, hopefully it was that one.]
Albion will not be the same without him.
[BECAUSE WE'RE ALL GONNA BE HELLA DEAD IN ABOUT A YEAR]
no subject
...I can imagine.
[...hm. He... isn't sure if he should say something about it or not... after all, it's probably not particularly comforting coming from someone who doesn't really know the situation. But...]
I think you should have faith that there's still a chance for your country, though. I've seen more than a few potentially world-ending catastrophes stopped by the most unlikely people... although, it's really possible that my world might just be a little special.
no subject
[But that's totally not going to happen. Yep. Definitely not. IT'S NOT LIKE THERE'S A HERO IN THE GODDAMN CASTLE oh my god this game]
I suppose there's not much I can do until I return home, but perhaps the situation will have changed in my absence.
[hahahaha sister you better not have let the country burn to the ground while he's been here]

[...]
What are you wondering, exactly?
[It sounds like there's more to this.]
no subject
I think the key word there is "remember," by the way.
no subject
Or maybe Giovanni's right and maybe Logan is missing some memories. That can't be... can it?]
What... makes you believe that's even possible?
[logan you are from a world with literal magic oh my god]
