Final Investigation.

You've all done very well to make it this far, but it's not over yet. The Conductor has been silent for the past few days. An uneasy peace has fallen. No one else has died, but does that really mean we're getting close to the end? But then, perhaps it's time to take some initiative of your own - to hold someone accountable for things they actually did, rather than punishing your own for acting out in a situation none of you asked to be in. A couple of you have some unused keys that you might want to try to use on the seventh floor. There's a room along the southern wall that hasn't been opened yet; that might be a good place to start. Are you ready for the final investigation? [OOC: Once you've gotten the western wing of the building open, the floors you'll be working with will look like this, with rooms A and B on each floor open for investigation; the red area in the southwestern corner of the floorplan contains a spiral staircase that leads between floors, though after the fourth floor down, the door leading into the building proper will be locked. Those four floors are yours to explore, though!]

[After feeding and petting the chickens and promising to come back for them, Elise is there with a bundle of things in a pillowcase. (You may have seen her this morning attempting to drag her entire trunk with her before just giving up and leaving it in the doorway.]

Is everybody prepared?

[Susan's wearing her new scarf and pin. The rest of the things she deemed most important are in a pillowcase of her own, except for the...rather questionable-looking sword that she's now got strapped at her hip.

I'm as ready as I'll ever be.

[Weiss doesn't have much with her. She has the butterfly pin in her hair, and her back pouch contains the glow stick from Hibiki and the hats from Ashley. The letters are tucked into her jacket.

No weapons, nothing she doesn't think she's going to need.]

[ Sol has TO BACKTAG TO GET HER PURSE but she will have gotten that along with anything terribly important to her. Typically of her, she hasn't brought any weaponry - has she ever carried any? - though she's wearing her sports wear and seems determined. ]

[Blue's got her usual red skirt and a freshly sewn monstrosity of a shirt on (thanks Chie,) and it looks like she too is going the pillowcase route; there's not too much she needs to take with her, and what she does fits in that just fine.

Wiggly and Ditty are both out and about today, too. They're impeccable helpers.]

I'm prepared, but what about you, Elise?

[She's gotta look out for her fellow ex-mole.]

I'm doing fine enough, even if I haven't got anyone to carry my -- what on earth are you wearing?

Everyone, I've got a request.

[ Jean looks ready for business, at least. Every last bit of his Survey Corps uniform is freshly laundered. He's also got a small silver key in hand. It looks too little to be a door key. ]

I found this key in the office a couple weeks ago, but I don't think it goes to any doors. If anyone finds a jewelry box or something like that then let me know. Maybe this can open it.

[ ... and even though he just said he doesn't think it goes to any of the doors, he's going to... casually try opening one of the many locked doors with it. He feels a little silly but after two weeks with no answers he's gotten a little desperate. ]

[It's a nice attempt, but unfortunately the key doesn't work.]

[...Well, Blue still has those keys from the dead guy, so she's going to try those out instead.]

[ Always the very pinnacle of maturity, Jean gives the door a frustrated kick hard enough to rattle it in its frame. ]

I'm on it. I'll keep it safe, and I will look for what it unlocks.

[Weiss pauses, then squares her shoulders and stands at her full height.]

There's one last thing I need to do before we go, just in case. It never seemed like the right time, but we might not get another chance.

[She walks up to him and kisses him full on the lips.]

[As much as it might be a terrible idea to send all the teenagers off on their own, Susan's glad to have Giovanni with her. He's one of her last friends left standing, after all. Best to keep an eye on him...people have been dying so suddenly lately.]

Elise did mention these floors were up here. Apparently he didn't think whatever was in them concerned her...

[She creeps towards the doorway of room A, peering in with one hand tucked in the pocket of her jacket.]
