WEEK 5 Tabitha Smith, Sigrun Eide, and Solf J Kimblee are all dead. Regardless of what you think of the trial or the events leading up to it, there's no denying that you can feel the dent in your numbers now. After all, ten people are gone now. It may be hard, but all you can do is keep going. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... What with Jericho's excitement at the last trial, it's evident now more than ever that the new floor that's opened up to you is a gift, a reward for a job well-done. Because while surviving is something that you'll continue to try to do of your own merit...well. Let's say that he's so, so very proud of you. Well...I'm trying to do something that would allow plants to grow in the area. I guess I'm just kind of babbling a bit to myself about what'd work the best for that purpose.

Tch, life is enough of a pain in the ass already. If you provide some sort of energy it'll find a way to take hold one way or another.

That's probably true...but I want to make sure I get it just right, so it has the reaction that I want. It'd just be a mess if I had no control over the effects of it, and that wouldn't be beautiful at all.

[I mean her idea of beauty is FLOWERS EVERYWHERE so she's. Not a good example.]

Yeah. I want to fill the world with that beauty--I promised Kimblee-san that I would.

Heh, I've heard that one before. So he gave you a rune for it, or something?

[Sayaka will spread the notes out when he asks, nodding her head.]

They're...they're the basic alchemical symbols, from what Kimblee-san said. He explained the meaning of them, and what they can do...so I'm trying to apply what I can gather and what I know, to see what would lead to the best reaction.

[It's a lot, but she sounds determined, if nothing else?]

[ He's actually quite for a while as he looks at what she has here. It's not his alchemy, but some basic things are similar enough. ]

This all he gave you?

...He did give me something, when he asked me to go over to him.

[She's...a little hesitant to show the stones off, admittedly, because she's not sure if he'll try to snap them up. She brings one of her arms closer to her, probably giving away where they are.]

He said that they'd be helpful, and to take care of them. I...promise that I would.

[ That earns her a look. ]

I have no interest in your shit, I could make whatever I wanted back home if I cared enough.

Alright, she breathes a bit and pulls two red stones out of her sleeve--one spherical, and one faceted.]

...He told me that these would help me, once I figured everything out. They allow alchemist to do more with less materials. They were...very precious to him, I think.

A catalyst, then. Wonder if it's got souls inside...

[ There is a very good reason he says this, considering him and Kimblee's very first chat. ]

[Hi, Sayaka did not sign up for this? Sayaka just kind of shakes her head.]

No, I don't think that's it at all. It wouldn't exactly be very physical if it was, I think. It's probably some kind of jewel...I almost want to say it's a garnet, just based off of looks.

[These are just very pretty red stones made of...probably some kind of jewel, just from the way they feel in Sayaka's hand.]

[ There is a lot he could say here, but first: ]

...Souls are like ghosts, aren't they? Whispy and something you could stick your hand through, but not really be able to grasp...

They are. But you can manipulate them just like you can with fire and electricity. Same thing with how you can put fire in a lantern to light shit and all. Souls are the same thing, cept they're one of the best power sources.

And you know what's a good medium for storing souls? Jewels!

[...She stares at the stones for a little while, just kind of...considering, for a moment, with the most quirked expression.

She then, after this while, goes to roll the spherical stone in her hand a bit.]

Well, at least they'll be well taken care of, if they are.

[Sayaka has no desire to access her reaction to the possibility that this stone is made of people, but you know what, she made a promise.]

I'd be more concerned if it were made of the same stuff that came from Fern-san, but just...hardened.

Heheheheh.... don't worry Miss Idol, if there are souls in there they ceased being real people a while ago. Don't get me wrong, they can still scream and shit, but as far as remembering their sense of self? Takes a really strong soul to be able to do that, and a really good alchemist.

But there's usually no point in going through with that process.

[ He shrugs, his grin wide. ]

And a smile. She doesn't have the right to judge and apparently this is just what alchemy is about, assumedly everyone is using stones made of people here. This is fine. Just fine.]

Well, in any case, he trusted me with these. So the least I can do is see what they can do to help me.

[She does not have to like it, but there is a small possibility that these are not souls! So she will cling to it in her head. Totally.

She's totally not a terrible person for this, mmhm, nope.]

...Not having to worry about the possibility of possession is nice, though.

I wouldn't worry about that, no. But if you don't know what you're doing, you might want to be careful anyway~. Unless you wanna end up like that trash that came out of Seaweed.

Oh--oh god, no! Believe me, I have no plan of that. That seems like a one way ticket into very, very disgusting things, and no thank you!

[That gets a bit of a shocked chuckle, though, de...spite it all...in hindsight all of that bacteria was a goddamn mess of a ride and she feels bad for Fern, but god.]

Heheheh, hard to believe she fucked up that much to turn into that. Only seen something like that one other time, and that's too many already.
