WEEK 5.
Tabitha Smith, Sigrun Eide, and Solf J Kimblee are all dead. Regardless of what you think of the trial or the events leading up to it, there's no denying that you can feel the dent in your numbers now. After all, ten people are gone now. It may be hard, but all you can do is keep going. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... What with Jericho's excitement at the last trial, it's evident now more than ever that the new floor that's opened up to you is a gift, a reward for a job well-done. Her past dreams she had sincerely hoped weren’t real, but this one she hopes is a reality. To have given Belius life once more—to have her powers be under control so she was no longer a poison or harming herself…? She’s not sure, but her dream made it seem like she was a danger to herself now. Still, it’s nothing to worry about any longer. Even though the trial was a shitshow, she feels… refreshed after talking to people about what happened who didn't parse words with her and this.
It doesn’t erase what happens, but it gives her strength to go on with the day despite all that’s happened. She’s learned a very hard lesson and now it’s time to own up to it. Yuri told her to talk to people, and perhaps that was his way of saying she needs to apologize.
But first, she hits up the vending machine and gets her new haul, in which nothing but one thing matters from this and that’s the plush of Undine she got. She’s looking at it for a bit and inspecting all the details—she looks exactly like the spirit she saw in her dream.
That’s enough to convince her everything was real. So unless someone wants something, she’s stashing the other items she received in the shark sleeping back and hauling it back to her room. (That’s her third one now, she thinks?)
For a good portion of the day, she’s going to seek out people she was… ah… rather rude to at the trial. Yes, that includes Elda. When she does do this, she’s taking the plush of Undine with her almost like a security blanket, so it’s kind of a hilarious sight. In any case, she won’t seem timid and her approaching people is sincere. Whether they choose to speak to her or not is not her choice, but she wants to at least say she tried. At least this time she knows when to not let her emotions take over.
Once she’s done, she’ll spend the evening in the library and it seems she’s got her nose in a book and is actually into it, meaning there’s nothing mentally distracting her right now. And yes, she still has that damn plush with her. But she seems a lot calmer. Either she put everything behind her and learned her lesson or she’s forgetting the whole fiasco happened. Or a combination. Either way, she’s almost appearing to be unnaturally calm and that’s either a good thing or a bad thing…]

Tarrlok wakes up in a cold sweat, because his memories apparently decided to take a sudden swerve into the wall and burst into flames. He definitely... leaves his room a little later than usual, and when he does, he's not looking super great. Like. He's kind of looking a little bit off kilter as he sort of... heads into the dining room, particularly that big ol' wall of secrets that's still there. Which he's just... staring at his own secret like he's just realized it was written in a different language and he's desperately trying to translate it.]

He's kind of wandering aimlessly around floor four with a bit of a hunted look to him. He's a little... obviously tense, honestly, and he might be a little jumpy if he's approached from behind. He's "investigating," but he's not really focused enough to really learn anything? He's just. He's not doing good.

When she enters the art studio and the nearby storage room, she blinks in surprise before a broad smile crosses her face. That's where she'll spend nearly the whole day, other than breaks to the kitchen for meals. Anyone who enters will find her either sketching or painting various things, lost in her work. It's clear that she's enjoying herself, from the smile that remains on her face as she goes.]

[And just like that, any lingering good mood he had from the trial was gone in a puff of smoke. Kirei awoke with a faint scowl, collecting himself into his usual impassive smile before heading to the kitchen to make coffee and consider breakfast--later on he'd move to the fifth floor, particularly the chemistry lab with some mild interest. Zouken was dead, that was certainly a positive thing to focus upon. But those words stuck in his head like a splinter of broken glass, and though he focused on what he did as the day wore on the priest didn't seem like he was paying attention to much else.]

Rudolf really meant that. So Battler was her son. The young man she loathed so much was actually her son, the one she was supposed to have. Rudolf's explanation was like a bucket of cold water to her.
When she left her room, she was feeling empty. What was she supposed to do now with her life, when something as big as that crumbles away?
Kitchen
Feeling hollow doesn't change Kyrie's breakfast cooking skills. She does it as normal, as if nothing was wrong, but she doesn't say a word, and seems to be deep in thought, almost absent. It's very unusual for her, as she always used to at least have a greeting or a friendly word for those who came for breakfast.

Kyrie wasn't really in mood to do much. She went to the new places and confirmed they didn't seem like anything special. She wandered around, her mind kind of blank, until she finds herself at the Conference Room. Deep in thought, she sits on one end of the table. It feels like she's at the Ushiromiya mansion dining room, sitting near the end, where her seat was because she's the last person in the inheritance row. After a moment she puts her head in her hands, staring at the wooden surface of the table]

The morning sees Sayaka...in a surprisingly focused sort of state--she makes a quick trip to the foyer, going into Alena's office for a moment before returning with a key, and unlocking the door to Room 26, mostly...well, for her own sake, admittedly. It feels a bit somber, after all of this, to be in here. But she does...look around a bit, and seem to find some notes, and...
...Woah. She...she needs a moment to just kind of sit down and take this all in. It's detailed as hell, and Sayaka can't help but be in utter awe of everything she's reading. So many symbols, and their meanings--ones that can help her, and help make her alchemy work. It's so wonderful, really--the door is open for anyone else who wants to come in, though Sayaka will be keeping an eye out for anyone who tries to do something she won't like. She's just...gonna be a while, in here, reading the notes mainly.
Of course, Sayaka's gonna explore the new floor a bit as well later in the day--the art studio gets most of Sayaka attention today, and she's gonna be there with a large pad of paper, her notes, and a multitude of pencils. One can hear her babbling to herself as well--]
So I definitely want to use terra as my centerpiece, here--if I use air and water, maybe that would grant the sort of effect I want? With terra in the center, air infusing the ground with terra's power, and...hmm. Would I need water, though? I wouldn't be manipulating a liquid, but maybe it would purify the ground...but maybe that would mess with the soil? Hmm. Or maybe that creation symbol, with terra in the middle--it would probably need more of the raw materials, probably the seeds...

She's not subdued when she comes out of her room—she's a little late in coming out, something like eleven compared to her usual ten or so, but subdued? No, she's ever the bundle of energy she ever is, though she stops at Alena's office first. After that, she's bouncing up the stairs to their new floor!! The workshop gets a peek into but ultimately passed over, because it's boring; the chemistry lab is a little more interesting, but she's more medical than chemical, so she doesn't stay long.
The art studio, though. This is where she'll be spending a lot of time... though she'll be investigating the art storage specifically. There's a lot of junk there; maybe something in it's interesting.
Regardless, she's psyched as hell about the fact she has colors now. Just in time too, in a way.
Afterwards, you can find her either in the kitchen, working on her cooking skills like she's been doing, or in the sewing room, where she seems to have a list of measurements for people (or guesstimates for those she didn't get to actually measure) and a lot of red fabric. ...This certainly can't be anything ominous, right? ]

which is why she's going to keep herself busy and investigate the art studio. she enters, and she's impressed with how large it is! let's take a look at the kiln first.
when she's not investigating, orihime will be sketching something in the art studio, canvas up on the easel as she works away at her art piece. it appears to be....a giant alien of some sort? who even knows.
later on, she can be seen in the sewing room making something with her hands with some of the thread. the colors here are white and brown. it looks like they're being braided together...what could it be? ]

Susan seems in decent spirits today, especially when you consider everything that happened over the weekend. She takes a quick breakfast in the kitchen, and for once she actually keeps going after she's made enough for herself. Does anybody else want any blueberry pancakes?
After that, she goes up to explore the new floor, and gravitates quickly to the art room. For a while she examines the painting materials with interest, but when she finally takes a canvas and puts it on an easel, it appears that it's only to...measure it several times with a long piece of coiled wire? She draws a mark on the wire that measures up to a few canvas-lengths long, about her own armspan.
For the rest of the afternoon, you can find her out and about, using her wire to measure out all of the hallways and rooms that she can access. She's noting it all down on a pad, and in the evening she settles down in the conference room to sketch out a proper set of maps. It's helpful to visualize everything, all together like that. And...

After his investigation attempts, Yuri can be found in the game room, setting up what appears to be the D&D knockoff game because Monday's the day he discussed with Aligula and Tarrlok to play the game.
By the end of the day, he can be found in room 18, lounging around on his bed, content to at least be a little relaxed about things. ]

She starts her morning in the gym. She'd really prefer to jog, but zooming down the hallways seems sort of like a bad idea. She starts on the mats, stretching and practicing some of her dance moves. Pirouettes, spins, leaps. If someone comes in at the right time, they'll see her attempt a standing backflip—and nail it. The crowd goes wild? She's mostly keeping to herself, but she'll smile at anyone who comes in, ready to strike up a conversation.]

[From there, it's back to her room to shower, but she heads to the art supply room next. She finds some colored pencils and a sketchbook and leaves, though she doesn't return to her room. She heads to the library where it's nice and quiet to do some sketching and drawing. Even better if she can find some books with wildlife in it.
In the evening, she heads to the workshop with her heart racing a little. With all the time she's spent listening to Rin, she feels like she really needs to nail this. It's her first attempt at an investigation. Anyone noticing her will notice she looks uncharacteristically nervous. Being the smart person in the group isn't really her strong point.]

But next things next, you might find the vampire anywhere around the building as she's planting... Bat Jerky in the far corners of it. Various rooms, different hallways. You might have gotten some of the bat jerky from the vending machine yourself. It doesn't smell that great. But she's sure planting it everywhere, this time with Ditty beside her, wiggling along after her.
But at the tail end of the day she makes it up to the fourth floor. To the art room specifically. Once there, she seems to be ... painting? She's much more used to being a sketch artist, but she seem to be painting - people? She's making a painting of some various people (Adelina, Sayaka, Rin, and Susan, among some others which are less clear) albeit - with some slight differences. All of them seem to have somewhere between brown and red eyes, pointed ears, and fangs.
... Yes, she is painting her favorites as vampires fucking sue her. ]

She uses today to do a little more looking around the new floor. Notably, the chemistry lab, where she's investigating. She's not a science girl, but like...well, you don't have to know science to investigate a science place, right? ...Right. Feel free to come across her also poking around the chemicals. Not sniffing or anything just trying to see if she can tell which ones are...not...good. Gold star, Alex.
Outside of that? Well she's actually going to be in the woodworking room with a knife and a block of wood. She tried carving when she was younger so maybe this could be a fun thing to do to pass the time? ...Eh, she can try it, at least.
She disappears for awhile after this, but in the evening she'll be just around the foyer, with a towel over her shoulders and wet hair, which is not in its signature ponytail. Her roots, which have started to show this last week, are now that nice color of teal! Looks like she did some touch up. She's looking over the letters she received from Sayaka last week, kind of...thoughtfully, a gentle frown on her face. Doesn't seem like she's opposed to company, though. ]

Later in the day you might encounter her in various places, though unless spoken to she doesn't stay in them for long. Namely, she pops into the kitchen and art studio for different kinds of supplies. Those get taken with her to the chemistry lab, aka Rin's new favorite place and where she'll be spending most of her day.
Among things like salt and ammonia, there's a lot of thick construction paper, which has been cut up and gotten everywhere around the room. Those cut-outs are getting folded up so that they stand on their own inside the lab's petri dishes, and what they look like will depend on how early you encounter her into the project.
Early on? There's probably just one or two, and the craft projects might resemble barren trees. Given time, however, there'll be a few more that look like that, but the "trees" that have sat the longest appear to be growing foliage. Close inspection will reveal these leaves to be crystals, some puffy and spiky, and blooming in various colors.
The best looking among the crystal garden resembles a sakura tree. It gets set a little bit aside from the others. Anyone who tries it or the other trees will get a gentle warning.]
Careful. It was tricky getting them in the dishes, so they're fragile.
[This is a project with a lot of waiting time, so as the hours pass by Rin also occupies herself with an investigation. She was already in here yesterday, marveling over the various supplies and glassware on hand, so now that she's gotten it out of her system maybe she can... focus. Let's start on this table in the center of the room! It has drawers like in the picture, right?]

[...It's probably a bad sign, honestly, given how his "discussions" with the group tend to go.
That said, whether you go to the foyer or not seems to be largely a formality, given that he can be heard throughout the building. Being obnoxiousness incarnate, as usual.]
So it looks like a lot of you have been busy, which is a good sign! Some of you are trying to keep yourselves together, some of you are trying to find ways to get back home, it's actually really cute? Keep up the cute work.
Hopefully you'll have everything you came here with if you manage to leave. Because that'd probably be really bad otherwise.
I mean, I probably don't have to remind you that you've seen what we can do – and I'm sure most, if not all, of you have figured out what's going on after everything that happened to Observant. He had perfect recall but he apparently didn't even remember something as fucking important as getting himself killed.
Kind of makes you wonder what else you could forget here.
What if I told you that if no one acts on Rule Seven by the time the timer goes off, you'll start losing things again? Maybe it wouldn't bother you, maybe you'd all be here for the eternal sunshine of the spotless mind thing. But just think about all the things that could involve – maybe you'd blank out on the fact that you haven't always been here, for example. That this isn't just your lot in life. Maybe you'd start forgetting home.
Alena'd be said about it, but that's something I could arrange.
But in all honesty, I'd probably start out going lighter on you guys, for a given degree of "lighter." I'll just take your memories of the people it's most important for you to remember, instead. Good and bad alike. One by one, until you've got no one left.
Either way, it's something you're gambling with this week; hope you're ready for it, if nobody jumps.

So Sayaka's gonna be spending most of her day in the art studio again. Anyway, he's poking through the various chemicals though he... has no idea what he's looking at here. Kimbley's the chemist, not him. Still, this seems to have relaxed him a bit even though he's not finding anything.
After the meeting you can find him in the shooting range, where he'll once again have a target set up to practice his archery. He's a bit distracted today so he's not quite as good of a shot as usual, which only makes him even more determined to hit the center of the target.

WEDNESDAY
Retaliation.
The first is that the library is occupied.
The second is that Alena's office is not.
Anyone in the general vicinity of the library this morning will actually notice Alena moving toward it at a quick pace; not like she's in a particularly urgent hurry, mind – more like she's on a mission of some sort, and she's not in the mood to be stopped or questioned by anyone. Her expression is hard, and anyone who tries to catch her physically will be shoved off with a surprising amount of strength and no answers to speak of, just the notion that she should be left alone.
She's still got Caren's pendant on, and her hair is noticeably tied up in a braid today; she's been wearing it like that since the past weekend was over. But that's probably not important.
She draws up short when she gets to the room she's looking for, pausing in a way that seems almost awkward in manner; she shifts a little, trying clearly to not fidget with her hands, before she enters and finds the person she's looking for.
Katniss is sitting in a chair near the shelves, tucked off in a corner by herself; she's got her head propped up, but she appears to be, for all intents and purposes, asleep. Alena moves to sit next to her, taking one of those chairs for herself and reaching out to stroke Katniss' hair a little; the motion is gentle, but it seems that she's rather focused on doing...something, mentally, it's just difficult to say what.
Her left hand continues to run through Katniss' hair; her right reaches out toward open air again, the way that it usually does when she's in the pit and looking for a weapon.
After a moment she seems to find one, a large firearm that sits heavy in her hand. Before she can be stopped – or maybe just before she can second-guess herself, it's hard to tell with how blank her expression is – she's got the muzzle of it jammed up into that soft area beneath Katniss' jaw, angled toward the back of her head; given Katniss' utter lack of reaction to anything – Alena's touch, the hard metal of the gun being shoved against her head - it's likely clear by now that whatever she was focusing on earlier was probably a means to make sure that Katniss remained asleep.
Alena pulls her left hand away, and the trigger is pulled quickly and without hesitation.
Katniss' skull shatters.
Katniss Everdeen is dead.
Alena doesn't move from where she's sitting, nor does she pull the gun away from where she's got it pressed up against Katniss' head; she just goes very still.
After a moment, Jericho's voice can be heard over the loudspeaker; he sounds...odd, like he did the last time someone was punished. Sort of detached from the whole thing.]
Guys, we mean it when we say don't break the rules around here. Rule Three was broken this morning. She paid for it, but I'm sure you guys aren't too happy about it.
As usual, we'll deal with the body. For now you can just get out of there.

Retaliation.
Alena. Why aren't you answering me? You know I don't like using this thing to get in contact with you, you're going to wake everyone up.
[He sounds...strange, in comparison to how he usually does; usually when things happen involving the other Coordinator his tone is somewhere between disinterested and detached, but this is different. Not quite concerned, but getting there.]
What's going on down there? Your readings are high, are you okay?
[If there's any response, it isn't audible over the intercom; there's another pause, before - ]
Come on, you're going to wake everyone up, they're going to be mad -
[That actually does sound mildly alarmed, in an odd sort of way that's clearly not intended to be; he cuts off then, however, and it's hard to say why until he speaks again.]
It's because of the one that's out there, yeah? Do you think it's Rule Five?
[Silence.]
Alena, I need you to confirm it's Rule Five for me.
[After a brief moment, she can be heard over the public-address system as well; it's faint and clearly, intensely distressed, but it's very much Alena's voice.
"Yes. Yes, I...I think so."
And when he speaks next, Jericho sounds almost relieved at that.]
All right. I've got it, don't worry about it - Rule Five's been broken.
[Anyone who's been making their way to the foyer by now to see what the hell is going on will realize that something is likely heavily amiss – Weiss is the only one there, and while she very much does seem to have been trying to break into Alena's office, given the tools on the floor, the fact remains that the damn tools are on the floor, and at the sound of the confirmation her hand comes up to strike the door, flat-palmed but clearly ineffectual, and she sounds alarmed when she speaks.
"No! No, I promise I'm not trying to – "
She doesn't get any further than that, however, before her body seems to buckle somehow; her back immediately arches forward as though she's in pain, her hands immediately finding her midsection as she staggers a bit. It's difficult to say what caused it at first, but when she tries to straighten up it becomes immediately obvious that something has happened – namely, her body wasn't full of knives, but quite suddenly it is, at least six of them piercing her abdomen just below her ribs, sending blood blossoming across the white of her dress and spilling out against her fingers.
The breath she draws is jagged, labored, and the exhale dissolves into a cough that's thick with blood, a trail of crimson trickling down from her mouth before she drops to the floor, curling tightly in on herself before she passes out hard.
It doesn't take long; she's gone quickly. A small mercy, probably.
Weiss Schnee is dead.
The door to Alena's office remains closed and locked; normally she's present for the deaths, but not tonight, for whatever reason – however, it's obvious that something has gone wrong, whether she's present ot not, just from the situation.
Jericho speaks again eventually; he sounds odd again, but it's in a vague, lost sort of way, like he's trying to work out exactly what should be said here.]
...Fuck. All right, this is a shitshow - we'll deal with the body like we always do, obviously you're not going to have a trial for this. Just...get back to sleep if you're able.
