WEEK 5.

WEEK 5

Tabitha Smith, Sigrun Eide, and Solf J Kimblee are all dead. Regardless of what you think of the trial or the events leading up to it, there's no denying that you can feel the dent in your numbers now. After all, ten people are gone now.

It may be hard, but all you can do is keep going.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

What with Jericho's excitement at the last trial, it's evident now more than ever that the new floor that's opened up to you is a gift, a reward for a job well-done. Because while surviving is something that you'll continue to try to do of your own merit...well.

Let's say that he's so, so very proud of you.

If we're to take the notes on Kimblee at face value, that means there were at least four "illegal" versions of these games.

We're looking at a potentially gigantic group behind this.

[ ... why does he keep getting caught up in shit like this. ]

'Course it has to be something like that. Knowing that there's already been four of these crappy games kinda makes me wonder how long it's been going on. This group would, of course, be pretty damn lucky they didn't get found out and forced to pay the consequences for it.

[ Because of course people would get away with staging games like this. Of course. ]

Unfooortunately, I have reason to believe this is state-sanctioned. I don't think it could be run, otherwise.

[ That'd explain everything—in regards to the people truly behind all of this having not been held accountable for these games going on. ]

Yeah, guess so.

[ And, well...since this is like in line with stuff that's been found, he'll raise his voice just a little from here. ]

Oh yeah, just in case you guys are still keeping a list of places we've looked around at, I figure I might as well say nothing's been found in the dojo.

...It doesn't sound like there's much in the way of pattern to what rooms have something of interest and what ones don't.

[personal profile] hesperos 2017-10-12 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it really doesn't.

[ He'll shrug. ]

I guess it's just whichever place will have randomly whatever.

That's how it appears. I don't know if there's a real pattern to it.

[personal profile] hesperos 2017-10-12 08:52 am (UTC)(link)
If there's a pattern or something, it looks like stuff's found in rooms that're ones a lot of people would like to use.

[ Game room, billiards, bar, library, etc...those are considered to be popular rooms to him anyway. The kitchen seems to be the outlier here. ]

I suppose that does make the most amount of sense, though I will admit I still don't understand the point of having us investigate this place to begin with.

Maybe they...want us to uncover stuff that's going on without them telling us? They're not really willing to talk at length in more details about our situation, but it doesn't mean they're not unwilling to see us figure it all out. They could think it'd help them along somehow, anyway.

It's my best guess at this point.

[personal profile] perpend 2017-10-17 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
That does sound like a possibility, doesn't it?

The big question is what they think that would accomplish. Do they want to be caught...?
hesperos: (143)

[personal profile] hesperos 2017-10-17 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
If they wanted to be caught, I'd think they'd have found a way to mess this whole thing up already.

[ He gets the feeling them being caught wouldn't end well for them. ]

Maybe us figuring stuff out is something that could help them fulfill one set of possible 'conditions' they might want to clear in the duration of this crappy game or something. I wouldn't really bank on that though since I dunno if it's something that complicated.

[ For all he knows, it could be something really simple. ]
