WEEK 5 Tabitha Smith, Sigrun Eide, and Solf J Kimblee are all dead. Regardless of what you think of the trial or the events leading up to it, there's no denying that you can feel the dent in your numbers now. After all, ten people are gone now. It may be hard, but all you can do is keep going. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... What with Jericho's excitement at the last trial, it's evident now more than ever that the new floor that's opened up to you is a gift, a reward for a job well-done. Because while surviving is something that you'll continue to try to do of your own merit...well. Let's say that he's so, so very proud of you. That sounds fun. We could make a game out of what months are most represented among the birthdays. Though if we do something like that, you have to pick your new birthday in advance.

February... Valentine's Day is there, but I've totally already had that as my birthday before...! [ Hm. Hm hm hm. ] Maybe the day after it? That's when you can discount chocolates and stuff anyway!

Yeah! Usually there's a three day window where you can get all of the good Valentine's candy and supplies on discount. Any later than that, and you just get the decorations nobody wants.

A three day window, soo... Hmmm... February 16th sounds good! It's right in the middle of that!

When's your birthday?

February 3rd. [She grins.] From my perspective, it was about five days before we all woke up here, though who knows how long it's really been.

[So she's only newly seventeen! Though as she said, she didn't get to celebrate it at all.]

Time does sort of have a funny feel here, huh? I mean, if my first dream-memory is right, then it was super near Halloween, which obviously isn't anywhere near February... and even my first waking up here was like... I dunno, summer or something?

I'll count it! [She beams with her hands on her hips.] But you're right, it is strange. Given we're not just from different worlds but years, I imagine none of our times sync up properly, but it does make you wonder what date it's supposed to be here.

I bet the Coordinators would just say it's not important too if we asked...

And I guess it sort of isn't? But like... It's still totally nice to know, right?

I'd take a season. If the windows weren't sealed off, I bet we could measure the length of daylight to at least make an educated guess.

I wonder why they are, anyway? I mean, there's ways of keeping people in without, like, totally getting rid of a pretty view.

They probably just don't want us to guess where we are, or deal with the questions.

Well, I guess I could totally tell if we're in Hellsalem's Lot or not, buuut... I mean for like, more normal people, like... Attentive or Submerged, I guess?

Hey, for all we know we're right next to a government building with the name of the town we're in emblazoned on a sign!

If our luck's bad enough to get dragged into a dumb-dumb game like this, do you think it's gonna be good enough for something as totally convenient as that?

I don't know. Alena made it sound like they had unlimited funding, and since Sigrun seemed to think we're in a city, I've wondered if this nonsense is somehow funded by their government.
