WEEK 5
Tabitha Smith, Sigrun Eide, and Solf J Kimblee are all dead. Regardless of what you think of the trial or the events leading up to it, there's no denying that you can feel the dent in your numbers now. After all, ten people are gone now.

It may be hard, but all you can do is keep going.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

What with Jericho's excitement at the last trial, it's evident now more than ever that the new floor that's opened up to you is a gift, a reward for a job well-done. Because while surviving is something that you'll continue to try to do of your own merit...well.

Let's say that he's so, so very proud of you.

[ Clearly starting to get annoyed with this questioning of her and her believes, her tone is growing colder, her eyes shifting past being merely predatory to a strange even more surreal, alien state. ]

A pairing of a human and a vampire has no future.

[ She can't take this. Elda stands now, leaping to her feet and shouting this next part, her eyes wide and fangs barred. Where does this girl get off- ]

A child between a vampire and a human is an abomination! Human most of the time and then vampire a fraction of the time, but without most of the abilities, so they can't even hunt properly. Their misbegotten bodies are often a source of endless suffering for them, but that's not the key thing- no, the key thing-

Is that without fail, a halfbreed has no reproductive capability. A pairing between a vampire and a human is a dead end, their children will simply live, suffer, and die! The family ends there!

[She takes a moment to think all of it over. As someone who knows she will want children someday, it's strange to think about. Still...]

Is Karin herself willing to accept that?

Who knows? I've been too soft on her.

[ She deflates a little, hanging her head. ] Allowed her to run around with that boy in the hopes she would see this silly little romance through to the end herself. She didn't even know about all that dead end reality until I told her recently.

And how did she react, when you told her?

[ . . . Tch. ]

That was when she admitted to me that she wasn't a normal vampire. The - the moment was tense. Her feelings are still unclear to me.

...I will hope that you recall more about the situation soon, then.

As do I. Honestly... I caused so many problems for her at the time I retreated away to the basement to research and sleep. I left her to her devices.

What sort of problems?

[ Her expression turns a lot more awkward, a lot more sheepish. She laughs a little and itches her cheek. Ah... ]

Nothing that bares repeating, but it was a hassle for her.

...I see. But - you are family. I'm sure she does not hold it against you.

[ Honestly, the optimism, when it sounds so baseless is frustrating. But... this one is based on hope. So...

[A nod, and then a pause.]

Is there more to the story, or...?

That's the end of it, for now. That's... the extent of where those dreams have taken me. That first week, I was ignorant of any of it.

[ MMMmmm. ]

Then - there is always the chance that everything has been resolved, and you simply have yet to recall it.

[ there is. There's also a chance Karin died- ] There is. Something someone mentioned made me correct my math not all that long ago. My age listed there on the profile, it's actually off by two years or so.

...How interesting. You must be missing quite a few memories, then.

[She pauses.]

Or, quite a few from my perspective, at least. I imagine two years seems like a smaller amount to you.

Two years ought to be nothing, but with no much going on with Karin, with Anju being the age she is... it's entirely possible it's been an incredibly eventful two years. I've woken up more just in the memories I do have in a year than I did in ten before it. it.

I understand. Hopefully the next thing you recall will give you a better clue of what has occurred in those two years.

Likewise, and that my memories have not been damaged before then.

[ though saying that is basically wishing for a murder tonight. ]

I... hope that they will not, but not at this cost.

[A sigh.]

I have little doubt that someone will act on this motive. You should answer your door for nobody.
