WEEK 5 Tabitha Smith, Sigrun Eide, and Solf J Kimblee are all dead. Regardless of what you think of the trial or the events leading up to it, there's no denying that you can feel the dent in your numbers now. After all, ten people are gone now. It may be hard, but all you can do is keep going. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... What with Jericho's excitement at the last trial, it's evident now more than ever that the new floor that's opened up to you is a gift, a reward for a job well-done. Because while surviving is something that you'll continue to try to do of your own merit...well. Let's say that he's so, so very proud of you. Ah, sorry. [Rin folds her hands, taking a mental step back to look over her painting.] This close to Friday, at probably sounded accusatory.

You're fine. It's naturally to be worried about... all this.

I'm not too worried. Despite the difficulties, we've kept a good track record so far.

[didntgetdadslooks]

I guess so. We haven't all died horribly yet.

[heritrix]

[Ahhh...]

At the trials, anyways.

[Her brush hand moves again, adding a little more definition and shading to one of the gears in her painting.]

Yeah.

What would it take? For you to want to forget someone.

[heritrix]

I can't think of anything, but that might reflect my current perspective. If I lived forever, after hundreds and hundreds of years, that might change, right?

I guess so. But then it seems more like... being able to afford losing your memories. Since you have so many.

[heritrix]

Would you? Sometimes when you live that long, you lose memories the old-fashioned way. Everything fades or disappears, until all that's left is your daily routine and what stands out strongest. You hit a point where you can't afford to lose anymore, you're so unhappy you no longer care.

[She's stopped painting at some point.]

I guess. It's... not a perspective I've been able to afford to think about for a while.

[Heh.] I wish I could get it out of my head.

Don't go the "I've accepted I'm going to die" route, it's not great. And hard to work yourself out of.
