WEEK 6.

WEEK 6

You've lost a lot of people this week, haven't you? Katniss Everdeen and Weiss Schnee were killed for rule violations, while Chie Hori and Frank Archer were murdered by Mikoto Suoh and Yuuki Terumi. It doesn't really matter how they died, though, does it? After all, they're dead now and the only thing you can do is keep moving forward.

It seems like there's no end in sight.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Changes were promised to you this week; while Sunday dawns seeming no different from the previous weeks, it seems one change is going to remain a constant - namely, a new floor has been opened up to you. Whether this is a promising sign or not is something that you're going to need to decide for yourself.

The important thing, for now, is that you continue to do well.

PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 19

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week six of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Coordinators, you can do so through private meetings with Alena Hilda!]

INCENTIVE

[personal profile] trustbound 2017-10-15 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[Jericho hasn't addressed the lot of you since the personnel change on Sunday, and your new Coordinator has generally been keeping to herself; however, shortly after noon on Tuesday, he can be heard over the public-address system, and he seems to have settled back into the usual one.]

Hey! Hope things are going better for you since Sunday; I'm sure you're all disappointed that I'm not just as dead as Alena ended up – I heard at least some of you asking – but nah, I'm still around.

And while we're all being not-dead over here, I've got something for you guys today. As always, foyer in ten; it shouldn't take too long this time.

[Whether you go or not hardly matters, but it's probably in your best interests to go; while it's probably worth noting that the profiles have been updated, there's something more immediately pressing in the middle of the room. Once again, it seems a table with several red envelopes – one for each living Participant – has been set up; Hilda is standing next to it, looking as stonefaced and cold-eyed as ever, her stance confident and her arms folded across her chest.

After those ten minutes you were given have passed, Hilda will pass out those envelopes to whomever's in here; once she's done that, she'll disappear back into the office without saying anything to anyone as Jericho addresses everyone again.]

So you guys did a really good job last week – and really, you owe a lot to the ones that died. They got rid of one of those particularly unpleasant people for you, after all, and they also ensured that all those memories of the people that matter to you stayed safely in your heads, where they belong.

Which, you know, is probably for the best, otherwise you probably wouldn't recognize the people in those envelopes, and wouldn't
that just be a fucking waste?

[He does sound genuinely pleased with this, too – which means that whatever's in those envelopes probably isn't good.]

I'm not going to keep you too long today, because I think whatever's in those envelopes for you will speak for itself – just know that they've probably got no idea what they did to deserve this shit, and if you manage to complete Rule Seven, I'll let them go.

And they're the only ones I'm going to let go. All of the others?

They start next week.

As always, have a good week, guys.

[While the words themselves are less than promising, what's in the envelope is possibly even more jarring – it's a small set of photographs, five of them. All depicting the person most important to your character, living or dead, in a setup similar to this one. The rooms they may be in are similar to the ones here, but not the same; there may be vague views of things in the rooms that look similar to the bulletproof casing containing the rules, or a glimpse of a wall behind them obviously displaying profiles like the ones in this room here. Either way, the meaning is very, very obvious - they're in a game exactly like this one, and given what Jericho mentioned about theirs starting in a week, that's probably not something you want to see right now.]

[...That...

"Are you okay?"
"Ow, ow, ow..."

They...were sealing off the school? But how--there's no way?

No, that isn't something she remembers at all, and yet it feels so real, it feels so...it feels so separated from what she knows, that can't be real. That can't be real, that can't be real, that can't be real, that can't be real, that can't be real--]

WHAT THE HELL!?

[Sayaka wakes up screaming.

...She's...pretty effectively gonna be in Room 2 for most of the day, screaming her lungs out and frightened as hell. What was that. What was that. There's no way that could be real, there's no way, they didn't seal off that school, what the hell.]

['If that thing has emotions like those of humans and agonizes over its doings, it is evil. But if it has no doubt about its existence, it is good. Everyone wished for him to be that way, after all. If it has no doubt about its function, it can not be evil.']

[Kirei awoke with a sharp pain in his chest he was certain was entirely imagined, pressing a hand to his heart. Or at least where his heart would have been. The answer to his question, within reach after all these long years. So close at hand, and yet...]

['I want to know if-']

[The priest was not hard to locate; he spent the entire day in the chapel once he found it early in the morning, ignoring the locked door in favor of simply lingering around the room as if that was the only natural place for him to be right now.]

firstaid: (Books!)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-10-15 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
You seem rather comfortable in here.

[Well, looking in the new areas and she sees Kirei almost looking like he's at home.]

Does a place like this have meaning to you?

[Sorry, her world actually doesn't have gods, churches, or priests...]
blackmass: (and run away from here)

[personal profile] blackmass 2017-10-15 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[oh look it's just the person he didn't want to deal with today, too bad kirei]

You could say that. It's similar to something from back home.

[what is it with you people and your lack of churches, it's weird]
firstaid: (Eh?)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-10-15 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[Poor Kirei probably didn't want this bundle of resilience at all. But too bad. She had a good dream so she's trying to keep her spirits up.]

What's it similar to, if I may ask?
blackmass: (wish i could fly as angels can fly)

[personal profile] blackmass 2017-10-15 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
...You've really never seen something like this before?

[please don't make him explain catholicism he's having a bad enough day already]

Call it a place of worship, if that makes it understandable. A location to offer prayer to a higher power.
firstaid: (think; princess; ponder)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-10-15 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[She shakes her head.]

I'm afraid I haven't. Though a place of worship-- like for a deity of some sort?

[She makes a fist as she bumps it against her lower lip like she's thinking.]

It's been a long time since my world worshiped anything, so I'm afraid it's a foreign concept to me. Gods and goddesses are things of myth now.
blackmass: (all your love will be exorcised)

[personal profile] blackmass 2017-10-15 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly the case, yes.

[...your world is weird, estelle]

There are countless myths and legends about the divine for us as well--as many as there are people who choose to accept them as fact.

firstaid: (calm; clastped hands; acceptance)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-10-15 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Accept as fact...

[She has a hard time with this because, well, while there are beings of powers like Enetelexeia and Spirits, they aren't gods.]

...do you accept something like that, Kirei?
blackmass: (show you a world you can understand)

[personal profile] blackmass 2017-10-15 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm a priest, Estellise. That means my entire life and career is based solely around the idea that I do.
firstaid: (eh heheheheh)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-10-15 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[Estelle's expression looks as if something clicks...]

So that's what a priest does...!

[Yeah, she had no idea, I'm so sorry, Kirei.]

I thought it was something like a mage or something academic. I've never heard the term before.

blackmass: (all your love will be exorcised)

[personal profile] blackmass 2017-10-15 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[why this]

Essentially, yes. In my case there is some overlap with magic, but I am not exactly the standard for most things.
firstaid: (relief)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-10-15 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[Because she's curious and she's still not determined that Kirei is an awful person.

Then again, unless someone does something like Mikoto did as well as their other remorseless killers, she won't even accept they're a bad person. Her life is full of naivete.]

What kind of magic do you do? Is it natural magic you can use or do you need a catalyst of sorts?
blackmass: (say one word I'll laugh and bury you)

[personal profile] blackmass 2017-10-15 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
It varies; I've studied most fields of magecraft at some point or another, most of which require materials or at least magic circles. My innate skills revolve around healing and purification.
firstaid: (smile; adoring; appreciative)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-10-15 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
That's my natural ability as well-- healing. Though people usually can't use magic innately in my world. They need a catalyst known as a Blastia and then study spells and magic to use it. For me, with a Blastia I can enhance my healing as well as use light based spells.

In theory, anyone in possession of a Blastia is capable of magic.
blackmass: (it's a battle cry; it's a symphony)

[personal profile] blackmass 2017-10-15 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm afraid I've never heard of something like that before. Elemental affinities are common for mages, but one needs to be born with the circuits to use magecraft. Rin would be able to explain in more detail than I would.
firstaid: (Happy)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-10-15 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I have spoken with her a little bit about that.

[Hmm...]

It's rather intriguing, however. Though, those of us born with the natural ability, unfortunately, we're also harmful to our world.

[She's referring to her secret here.]

Luckily, that seems to have been fixed thanks to a Spirit.
blackmass: (all your love will be exorcised)

[personal profile] blackmass 2017-10-15 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
...Sorry, what.

[you can't just say shit like that with no context, estelle]
firstaid: (Clueless)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-10-15 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm? I said I'm harmful to the world at large, but a Spirit named Undine now resides within me and is controlling my powers. Well, obviously not here, but back home she is!
