Week 7.

WEEK 7 Orihime Inoue, Estellise Sidos Heurassein, and Kirei Kotomine all died this past week. One of your Coordinators died as well, leaving you with a new face but still no end to this. Several of you are finding yourselves at a crossroads: either keep moving forward, or accept the inevitability of fate. It's your own choice, your own decision; no one's going to make it for you. Over half of you are gone now. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Once again, a new floor has been opened to you; unfortunately, either this is a particularly strange reward or Jericho is starting to get downright sarcastic. Perhaps there's something in it for you despite the setup; who knows, though there's really only one way to find out. PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 16

[TO THE CHAPEL, YEAH! Never has Rin so enthusiastically entered one before. Making a beeline for the back of the room, Rin thanks Sayaka, then tries the brass key on the door.]

Let's see if this works...

[And with a fairly satisfying click, it seems that the key works!]

[This is indeed a satisfying click! Eyes lighting up, Rin shoots Sayaka a victorious grin and pushes the door open.]

[--HOLY CRAP, that worked?! Sayaka smiles and follows.]

I--I can't believe that worked, Tohsaka-san! I wonder what's here?!

You found that key weeks ago, didn't you? Maybe there's hope for those secret doors in the game room too, after all.

[But okay, let's head in here. Is it dark? If so, Rin's going to feel along the wall for a light switch.]

[It is dark! ...Thank you for having common sense and looking for the light switch, though, good lord.

That said, though, the room will light up easily enough; there doesn't seem to be much in the room, just a simple wooden table with what a box sitting on it. It's not a particularly large box; about the size of something that could reasonably contain a softball.]

[Ohhh, that's interesting...]

Tohsaka-san, look at that...maybe there's something in that box?

[Sayaka's gonna go forward and look at it--is it gonna require a key, or anything to open it up? Or is it but a simple box.]

[It's a simple box, except for the part where there's no immediately visible way to open it.

Maybe if you fiddle with it for a while? Who knows. As it is, though, it'll just kind of make an awesome paperweight.]

That's strange...it doesn't look like there's a way to open it.

[...Sayaka's first thought is to pick it up and shake it a bit. And probably gonna look underneath the box to see if there's something there, but...

Is that gonna yield favorable results, or sound like anything's going on in there?]

[There does seem to be something rattling around inside it.]

Tohsaka-san, can you take a look at this? I'm not sure if there's a way to get in this, but I hear something inside.

[I PICKED THE WRONG TIME TO EAT DINNER, hello again. Rin comes closer.]

Let me see.

[She'll accept the box when it's offered to her, and try to get an idea of what's rattling around in there. Does it sound particularly heavy, or fragile?

...also, what is the box made out of, while we're checking it out. If there's no visible way to open it, I'm assuming it's not cardboard or something they could cut with a pair of scissors.]

That said, though, it sounds neither heavy nor fragile; it seems pretty light, actually. And the box is a wooden one.]

But okay, wood you say? ...WELL, DEPENDING ON HOW THIS GOES, YOU MIGHT JUST IGNORE RIN BRINGING THE BOX TO THE LIBRARY NEXT WEEK AFTER ALL.]

Maizono-san, let's see if something in the workshop can help us open this.

[So off to the workshop she goes!

When she gets there, she's going to take a handsaw, and attempt to saw the wooden box open on one end (after making sure whatever's in it has rolled off to the other side of the box, of course).]
