I dreamed of a world so far from here that's not on the map
To my Fellows,
What is "good" and what is "evil" is something that can be debated for longer than most of you will ever live, as is the nature of men. These debates are without meaning in my eyes. Despite that man's belief, men are not born to be good or evil, and what flaws they have in personality or character are things that can be overcome through their choices. Both for better and, as we've seen, for worse.
Life is not without suffering, but I should hope that every one of you is loved by someone. Loves someone. Many of you probably know that some of those loved ones are entering into an experience similar to our own. The terror of that is an undeniable sword which hangs above our heads.
Do not isolate yourselves, and hold onto what belief will best inspire you. And if you wish to join us for another one of these gatherings, meet us in the dining hall at 8PM.
Sincerely yours,
Elda Marker
PS: Those who can taste will once more provide food.
[ Well that sure is a lot of words which is being put under your doors, put on the fridge, and generally distributed around. It... uh, sure is a letter? It's in the same impossibly perfect cursive as last week, and is written with an almost angry bravado. Because even if she was vindicated at the end there, she was vindicated by a (by his own admission) evil priest. So. That feels bad.
Anyway, with some effort, the dining hall (which now has a lot of candles at Cabanela's little shrine, even with adding the two more here) is filled with food: Susan's got the booze as usual but also a big pot of mac and cheese. Adelina's done her noble best with some finger sandwiches. Yuri's brought some sweets that Estelle might've made. As for Elda, well, she still basically can't cook, so what she provides instead is:
A few board games including a Settlers of Catan, Sorry, and Candyland knock off. I guess we're playing games. Or at least she's suggesting it, who knew? ]

For most of the evening he can be found in room 18, with the door firmly closed. If anyone is bold enough to try to open it or something, they'll find that he (by way of forgetfulness) left it unlocked. ]

She doesn't make to open the door or anything. She'll slip a small note underneath, sticking around for a bit before just...walking away, if he doesn't give any sort of response.]
Yuri-san,
I'm sorry for having bugged you, both during the trial and before it. I should have simply backed off. I don't know if it's appropriate to offer, but my ears are open if you ever want to talk. Please take care of yourself.

Um. Later on, he makes it to the party. He's physically there in the dining hall, anyway. Mentally, he's... somewhere else, as he picks away at some macaroni and cheese and stares into the distance. He's got that picture from the trial at the table with him, which he... occasionally looks at.
...he's not there very long. When he finishes up his mac and cheese, he heads straight back to Room 10. He might answer people who knock, but... he's kind of checked out a bit.]

Her smile is terse but warm, doing all she can to try to be supportive. In the dining hall, her main objective is to urge people to play some game with her, be it one of the more complex ones, one of the more simple ones, or even this deck of cards (one of the scuffed ones from the vending machine) that she has on her.
But she won't linger there all night as a host, as she did last week. She actually duck out of her own celebration to go and do a few things. Namely, she plays the piano in the ballroom for a spell, like like time, and then moves on to elsewhere. She wanders around, but in her efforts to not be in the room she ends up at the chapel.
Oh, come to think of it, she won the bet, didn't she? ]

"Even knowing someone in this room is a murderer, is that worth condemnation? Consider what was at stake--and also consider that means those who did not act abandoned the ones they love the most for the sake of sparing people they have known for a matter of weeks."
"Is murder always an act which should be called 'evil'?"
She's basically damned Naegi to death, hasn't she? If they'd used Alex, or Elda instead--taken them off to a different game to do this again, what would she have done? Would she have betrayed them all? She swore she wouldn't fall this far, would she?
...But here she is. She doesn't know when she started to cry, but there she is, looking at someone so awful that she'd both frame the only person she considered her friend, and damn him to death because she saw blood and decided she didn't like it. She's a poor example of an idol, a poor example of a person, a poor example of everything. Sayaka reads over the letter that Elda leaves her. "Despite that man's belief, men are not born to be good or evil, and what flaws they have in personality or character are things that can be overcome through their choices." Is that really the truth? Can people really change, if they've been like that from the start?
Sayaka doesn't go to the party. She's not in her room if one tries to find her there, either--Sayaka sneaks off upstairs, and her destination is the art storage room. She rearranges some stuff in there, mostly making a bit of a barricade she can hide behind, before just...staying there for as long as she can. Crying softly, mostly, but one might be able to hear her talking in there if they stop by.]
...You must be super disappointed, huh? Here I told you I wasn't gonna wallow...but I don't...know. [She laughs a bit, the sound hollow.] I don't know what to do. If I'm...I've already proven that I'm just an idiot who gets herself into messes she can't handle. That's just my life, now. Now I've got people I care about, people I don't want to lose, and...I don't feel like I've changed at all. Can someone like me really change...?
[...She rolls the stones in her hand from the barricade she's made, staring down at them like they might have an answer, before holding them closer.]
...It's stupid to ask a dead man those questions, I know. I know you aren't here anymore. I wish I knew what to do...
[...Later on--closer to midnight, even, she'll finally be back in Room 2, just...drained. Tired.]
art storage room
[ That might be too harsh by half, but after not seeing the girl in her room, then the party, then the bar, she's been scouring the whole damned building only to finally, finally find her here, and she ends up sounding somewhat exasperated. Perhaps even a little bit winded by the time she comes in here.
She's got sensitive hearing, at least. She says it from outside the barrier. ]

Only...one left. Who...?
[ She's very deep in thought here.
After that, later in the night, she can be found with a beer in the music room, sitting at the drums. For a moment, she just sits there, staring at them, but then...she starts to play, though it's very clearly a beginner. She's just trying to make noise. That's okay. It's what she needs right now. ]

She grabs one of the two newest candles and she throws it at the wall as hard as she can. It breaks into several pieces immediately, the swift motion being enough to extinguish the flame before it hits the ground. She stands there for a second, eyes narrowed, shoulders shaking...before she retreats to her room without so much as an apology.]

That certainly was something.
