Week 7.

WEEK 7

Orihime Inoue, Estellise Sidos Heurassein, and Kirei Kotomine all died this past week. One of your Coordinators died as well, leaving you with a new face but still no end to this. Several of you are finding yourselves at a crossroads: either keep moving forward, or accept the inevitability of fate. It's your own choice, your own decision; no one's going to make it for you.

Over half of you are gone now.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Once again, a new floor has been opened to you; unfortunately, either this is a particularly strange reward or Jericho is starting to get downright sarcastic. Perhaps there's something in it for you despite the setup; who knows, though there's really only one way to find out.

PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 16

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week seven of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Coordinators, you can do so through private meetings with Hilda!]
heritrix: (don't follow)

[Well, it wasn't even that, but she doesn't want to give herself away more than necessary, depending on how much or little he's guessed.]

If you stopped by to insult me, you needn't bother. I know more than anyone still alive in this building exactly how reckless it was.
evilfrenzy: (♟ can we not)

[personal profile] evilfrenzy 2017-10-25 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[He did tune out a decent amount, so that's a very fair plan on Rin's part.]

I did not. If I did, that would have been the first thing that I said. [He's blunt like that.] I simply heard you practicing and came in to investigate.
heritrix: (just a normal high school girl)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-10-25 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[Honestly, she believes that. It even puts her a little at ease. Comments like climb into the incinerator aside, blunt people are so much easier to deal with.

Rin shrugs as if to say "fair enough", before turning aside from him to reach for her water bottle. She was definitely at things for too long in here, because she's feeling dehydrated now. There are two empty ones besides it, but this one is fresh; she cracks it open and takes a long, long drink, downing a third of its contents in one go.]
evilfrenzy: (♟ let me tell you a thing)

[personal profile] evilfrenzy 2017-10-26 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
[Hey now, he didn't say climb into it...! But that would be him forgetting that the incinerator isn't as accessible to Rin compared to himself because of their heights.

He watches Rin do that for a moment, then launches into something Rin probably expects now that he's seen her going to town on the punching bag.]

Have you been training in combat for long? Your movement suggests you at least have a fair bit of experience.
heritrix: (elegance)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-10-26 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
[What about the part where there used to be a person she kind of liked inside of it? D8]

...It hasn't been all my life, but it's been several years at least. [She wipes her mouth, and screws the lid to her water bottle back on.] I can't remember when we started.

[Read: She got a lot of combat training in very quickly.]
evilfrenzy: (♟ hmm)

[personal profile] evilfrenzy 2017-10-26 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[Obviously an afterthought on Rideaux's part.]

You and Kirei, I assume. [That part he did catch. It was kind of hard not to.] Is it a basic part of training as a mage in your world?

[A lot of spirit arte users in Rideaux's world tend to be on the squishy side, hence the question.]
heritrix: (step on the little people)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-10-26 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Just the opposite. A mage who can defend themselves in hand-to-hand combat is unorthodox, and that's what we were counting on.

[We Fate mages are also typically on the soft and squishy side.]
evilfrenzy: (♟ you're gonna suffer a lot)

[personal profile] evilfrenzy 2017-10-26 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I see. So you wanted to give yourself a hidden advantage to catch your cocky enemies by surprise. Not a bad plan.

[It's something that he can get behind, at the very least. He knows he loves it when he gets to do it.]
heritrix: (sounds like something a bitch would say)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-10-27 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
It's worked out in my favor at least once, but self-defense is just as critical. That's my trump card here, too.
evilfrenzy: (♟ oh here's a neutral one)

[personal profile] evilfrenzy 2017-10-27 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I imagine not many hypothetical killers are going to expect you to fight back as hard as I just saw you going. And since we don't have access to magic here, it's a good thing that combat experience cannot be turned off so easily.
heritrix: (behold such generosity)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-10-27 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
And that they give us weapons. I'm sure you have your ace in the hole as well.
evilfrenzy: (♟ hey ludger get this)

[personal profile] evilfrenzy 2017-10-27 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, anyone can handle a weapon. The difference is, some can handle them well.

[That said-]

I suppose I might. Or perhaps not. I am a simple doctor and Director, after all.

[He knows he's not fooling Rin with that, but he just wants to see how she'll react.]
heritrix: (bored now)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-10-28 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
[He's getting this face, then, and without missing a beat:]

A man's only as simple as his laundry routine.
Edited 2017-10-28 02:05 (UTC)
evilfrenzy: (♟ eyeroll)

[personal profile] evilfrenzy 2017-10-28 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
[...pfft-]

Oh, ouch. You got me there, then. Cleaning this suit is anything but simple.
heritrix: (you're the one with a warrant in ohio)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-10-28 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Let me guess: it's dry clean only?

[That would be so much worse, in murder school.]
evilfrenzy: (♟ are you kidding me)

[personal profile] evilfrenzy 2017-10-28 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
Got it in one. [With a sigh,] I have been able to wash it here, but the process is very tedious and I have had to be extremely careful. I would hate for it to get ruined.

[He has his school uniforms that he wears on occasion and while his suit is drying on laundry days, but they're just...not the same.]
heritrix: (mrrrrr)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-10-28 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
We only have the one change of clothes, too. [Sigh.] I'm sorry Friday inevitably had to be tedious for you.
evilfrenzy: (♟ time to plan a murder!!)

[personal profile] evilfrenzy 2017-10-29 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
[...]

It is what it is. Fridays are tedious for everyone, honestly. Wouldn't you say?
heritrix: (step on the little people)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-10-29 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure if that's the word I'd use, but if I wanted an adrenaline rush I'd bungee jump from the top of the stairs.

[She's going to take another drink of her water bottle, and go back in front of the punching bag now. Her muscles feel like they're tensing up, her shoulders drawn up with it, but she's tempted to go another round.]
evilfrenzy: (♟ are you kidding me)

[personal profile] evilfrenzy 2017-10-29 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm. I do enjoy a good adrenaline rush, but not like these trials. You do have to admit that some of these people have gone out of their way to make them irritating and exhausting to get through.
heritrix: (yakuza)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-10-29 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[One name immediately springs to mind.]

Quite. Even those who say you shouldn't speak ill of the dead would make an exception for Kimblee.
evilfrenzy: (♟ shit got my ass kicked)

[personal profile] evilfrenzy 2017-10-29 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you for understanding completely.

[G o d.]

I thought he was reasonable enough when we first met, but...how wrong I was.
heritrix: (mrrrrr)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-11-02 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
[Slightly damp at the roots, she pulls back a strand of hair behind her ear.]

Yeah. Well, "competent" and "reasonable" aren't always the same thing. [...] Honestly, Kimblee got on my nerves from the beginning. It just took me until Blue's trial and seeing how well he got along with Kirei to figure out the reason.

[This was before the whole crazypants reveal and whatnot, she just found them both aggravating.]
