Week 8.

WEEK 8 Regardless of what you think of the most recent deaths, four more people have died this week. Milla Maxwell, Angel, Susan Ashworth, and Aligula are gone now, leaving you with about a quarter of your original number. Thirty-five down to twelve - this can't keep going for much longer, can it? Is there anything you can do? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Unlike the previous weeks, however, it seems that either you've reached the end of the line or Jericho has decided to stop rewarding you for your effort; where there would usually be a stairwell to a new floor, you're met with nothing but solid wall. Perhaps it's distressing; perhaps it's a good sign. Only time will tell, and time isn't something you have a lot of around here. PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 12

[ Today's...going to be a day. A big day. Alex has some jitters, as she pops in some coins at the vending machine. Tea, hair dye, a sword, cigarettes (she doesn't smoke stop giving her these--) and- .... ]

...It's. It's. ...Is this actually made of diamonds. ...Golly. [ the butt stallion statue will fascinate Alex for some time

Later, she pops up to the second library, thinking there may be something to look for? ...Or maybe just to play with the cat, sue her, but-- Well, what she does find leaves her surprised, because it wasn't there the day before? It's this fucking thing, an old, slightly water-damaged armoire. What's inside? Well, Alex tries to open it, but lo and behold. It's locked.

She starts laughing. ] Of course it would somehow end up here. Of course I still can't open it. [ Bonk. She slumps her head against it, it's...honestly kind of funny.

...So later in the day, in the afternoon, Alex then sort of...takes over the kitchen? She's got that tea she received earlier, because even she can boil water, and it seems weeks of cooking with Sayaka have left her able to do something with the stove. She's mixing up dough, and there's chocolate chips... Is she baking cookies?

...

And, around dinner time, she'll be setting things up for something special in the music room. She's...oh, there's a blanket, and cookies, and fresh-made tea.

[...Sayaka Maizono has never gone on a date in her entire life.

Oh, sure, she's seen plenty of dates on TV--she knows how they typically go, there's banter, there's drama, there's typically friends watching in the background to make sure it goes well, there's food, and there's pretty much always something sappy attached at the end. And they were strictly forbidden in her line of work; if the paparazzi caught sight of such a thing, they'd be all over it and she'd be done for.

Sayaka can't help but be a little bit nervous. God, there's so much she should be doing--she never had the chance to ask Aligula to make her that outfit she said she'd look good in, and she doesn't have much in the way of outfits that are different? She...well, she does have a couple dresses--the one she wore for the halloween party weeks back, and a rather simple pink one she and Rin made.

She winds up picking that dress out--simple, short sleeved, and cute. Okay. She told Alex she'd be there, and it's...going to be fine, right? It'll be fine. Just calm down, get makeup on, and go and meet Alex. No pressure. Absolutely no pressure. She has got this.

Sayaka walks into the music room at the planned time, taking a breath before tapping the door lightly and entering. No turning back now.]

Alex? I'm...I'm here.

[ Unlike Sayaka, Alex doesn't have a wide variety of things to wear. The skull tank doesn't seem appropriate for a date, and the school uniforms are...eh, not the look she wants to go with. Therefore, there's not much she can really do to fancy up. Leave the brother-jacket in her room, can't have that security blanket all the time. Re-dye her hair, the other day, since her roots were starting to show. Try to do something with it, get frustrated, stick to her usual ponytail.

Focus on the preparations instead, that's what Alex settles on.

So, as she sets the tea out, gently, she's a bit surprised- is it time already, is it-- ]

Oh... Uh... Hi, Sayaka, you... You look amazing.

[ ...Promptly stunned silent. ]

Well, how could I not? I wanted to look really cute for you...it's a date, after all. Seems only fair, right?

[Ah, Sayaka flushes a bit at the compliment--she twirls a bit of her hair in her fingers, before looking around the...room...and...

...Oh no. OH NO.]

...Oh no, don't tell me I showed up too early! You aren't--I didn't even give you a chance to finish setting everything up! I thought I was right on time!

[ Oh- oh no, GIRLFRIEND CALMING MODE ACTIVATED...!!!

Alex swoops over, hands up in placation. ]

No, no, you are, I just lost track a bit! Look, all I need to do is pour the tea, promise!

[Wahhh, but she still feels so rude...!

Sayaka winds up looking down a bit, but...okay. Breathe Sayaka, breathe, you...marginally got this.]

Sorry...I just felt so rude, and I don't want to mess this up for us...! But...okay. Okay. Um, should I step out of the room for that and re-enter, or...?

[ This is Elda. This is Elda with a somewhat spooky looking syringe in hand? But she's got a smile on her fact as she sort of just appears from behind a bookshelf. Her freakishly silent footsteps allow her to do that, you know. ]

[ ELDA JESUS Alex shrieks and bonks her head harder against the armoire, with a wince. ]

Where'd you come from?!

Behind that bookshelf.

[ See? She points to it with the syringe? ]

[ She said with a smile!! SMILE!! ]

[ Alex shrugs, exaggerated, and makes a noise like grumbling mixed with...a scream, probably. ]

Just 'cause?! [ Slump. Against the armoire. ] I guess they thought it matched the decor.

[ Yuri strides into the kitchen, because he's up relatively late today.

... Hm. ]

Baking something over there, huh? What's the occasion?

[ For making the cookies, he means. ]

Hey, Yuri. They're for Sayaka.

[ Here she is, SUPER FOCUSED on her baking, making sure they don't burn, therefore just defaulting to truth. ]

They are, huh?

[ He'll lean against the counter, and... well. ]

They don't smell bad at all. If this is for Sayaka, I'm guessing it's because you two are going to be having some kind of girls' night or something?

Uhh... Something like that, you could say.

[ She... Oh jeez, it's written all over her face, honestly. A dopey, doofy grin, even with her attention to baking. ]

It's a little more...you know, special.

[Rin's been scarce since Tuesday. Ever since the incentive was announced, she's mostly kept to her room, the kitchen and dining area, and strangely enough the sewing room, which is where she can also be spotted until around lunch time on Thursday. She's working on...

Is that a stuffed animal? It looks like some sort of cute mouse thing. Seems she's putting the finishing touches on it. She takes her lunch in this room, too. They're fancy little finger sandwiches. She's nomming on them with some tea, and would probably look quite fancy if she wasn't surrounded in batting fluff. It looks like there's a cloud swarming by her ankles here.

Eventually the bulk of that project is finished, and Rin feels somewhat satisfied. There's a little more hand-stitching to be done as a special touch, but she can do that in her room. ...She doesn't really feel like going back there now, and it's this thought which sees her going up to the sixth floor.

Thusly on Thursday evening, you can find Rin in the chapel, of all places. Sitting to the far side of one pew in the middle of the room, her head isn't bowed in prayer, however. Feet drawn up onto the bench with her and hugging her knees close to her chest, she's staring contemplatively at the back of the pew in front of hers, thoughts far away. Churches are a common refuge for those who need space to think. Those who use them are known for doing so quietly, but Rin isn't such a person. Once or twice, she can be heard muttering to herself.]

...There's no way we lost. [Color bleeds back into her fingers, as she forces them to relax.] No way.

[ The chapel isn't somewhere Yuri comes often - he doesn't really find much of an interest in it, but he does make a pass by it and he decides to peek in to see if anyone's currently within. He finds Rin in that position of hers, and he decides to draw nearer. ]

Hey, Rin. Something bothering you?

[heritrix]

[It takes a moment, to process someone's speaking to her. Rin lifts her head, tilting it in the general direction of where Yuri's voice came from, but doesn't turn to face him head on.]

It's Thursday. Everyone should be bothered.

[hesperos]

Yeah, I know that.

[ He shrugs. ]

I kind of was wondering if you were bothered by something non-Thursday related.

No, they're connected. [She shrugs her shoulders.] It's the motive. This is the first one in a while that I've had to take seriously.
