Week 8.
Regardless of what you think of the most recent deaths, four more people have died this week. Milla Maxwell, Angel, Susan Ashworth, and Aligula are gone now, leaving you with about a quarter of your original number. Thirty-five down to twelve - this can't keep going for much longer, can it? Is there anything you can do? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Unlike the previous weeks, however, it seems that either you've reached the end of the line or Jericho has decided to stop rewarding you for your effort; where there would usually be a stairwell to a new floor, you're met with nothing but solid wall. Perhaps it's distressing; perhaps it's a good sign. Only time will tell, and time isn't something you have a lot of around here. |

[Kyrie passes her hand over the wall where a staircase would have appeared. The wall is completely solid, it doesn't budge. Knocking on it hints there's nothing beyond. Thoughtful, she steps back and returns downstairs. Breakfasts need to be made.
Besides, there are other matters to think about, like her latest memory. Looks like Rudolf and she got rather far in their improvised plan. And then she died. A gunshot. She had missed a shot and accidentally spared one of her in-laws. How embarrassing! Rudolf was dead too. The plan failed.
What was more, she had no idea what happened to Battler. Maybe he was killed too, maybe not. She had no way to know. It was strange...she actually felt sorrow for Battler's potential death. Rudolf's death was...well it was troublesome. That's unfortunate. Her daughter, Ange...well it seemed she was an orphan now. Who knows what'd happen to her.
All in all, Kyrie was by herself again, with no ties at all, and by being in this hellish place, she has a chance to restart her life.
It's no surprise she appears quite cold this morning]

You know, Sayaka actually wakes up in a genuinely good mood, for once. Maybe it's everything she talked about last night, or just...finally coming to terms with something or other? But you know what, she's here for it.
Sayaka's actually going to be spending a portion of the day in the Art Studio, and it looks like she's playing with some stuff in here--it actually looks like she's got some pipe cleaners out, and tissue paper, and she appears to be cutting the paper into shapes that look similar enough to petals. And with a bit of messing around and tying them up (or gluing, there's probably some glue here), she's...making a little garden of her own, here.
Later on, though? Sayaka seems to be making Dinner...or, at least, looking for suggestions, if the way she beams when someone comes into the kitchen is any indication.]
Hey! I don't suppose you have any recipes you can think of? I could use something new to try and make.

Well, start the day once more in an outfit that people have seen Aligula in before. Specifically, the witch-y dress/costume she made for the Halloween party.
So... first things first, let's just go to the vending machine. Having no idea how to face anyone, she's just going to put in coins and accept the results. She doesn't see anything immediately interesting to her, though some of it... is neat? The drawing sees her focusing on it a little too hard before she just makes to cart this all back to her room over a few trips. When she comes back out, Ditty is in her hands, and he'll be there the rest of the day.
Next she goes to Milla's Room (Room 12) ... more on a hunch than anything. Susan left notes and she found for herself Aligula didn't when she stole the clothes. Elda has no special attachment to Angel, but she's curious if the god left anything. And it seems, well, she did. "Win" "I have high hopes for your abilities." ]
... Every single one of them, huh.
[ She mutters that to herself before taking the note which was addressed to everyone and taping it on the fridge in the kitchen. Her only venture there of the day, but hey, everyone else eats. They'll see it there. She'll deliver Sayaka's little letter personally later.
She said she would be better (indomitable, as they saw fit to call her) today, but she's still not necessarily feeling her social best. In the end, after (with Ditty in hand) Elda makes it to the top floor to see if it goes any further (and then it doesn't) she settles into Library #2 for a lot of the rest of the day, playing with Ditty and possibly the cat. Anyone can run into her there until she tires of it, collects some blood in the infirmary, and heads on back to her room. ]

So he... ends up reading Susan's letter at breakfast in the dining hall, pondering a bit. His breakfast isn't gonna get too cold, but he's eating it more slowly than usual.]

TIME TO THROW SOME DARTS. He's not going with any of the petty stuff as he does some dart throwin' in the billiards room, because quite frankly, he's just looking to have some fun and work off steam. He's definitely up to play anyone if they wanna give it a go, but... looking at how close a lot of his hits are to the bullseye, it looks like he's actually pretty good, accuracy-wise. So hey, maybe he'll steamroll you... or maybe he'll be a fun challenge. Who knows?]

She wakes up with tears in her eyes again, and she stays that way for a while. It's not... It isn't what she thought, not at all, but it's a far cry from what she wanted. It carries a sting with it once more, and it takes her a while to collect herself enough to leave her room.
When she does come out, she‘s holding a few sheets of paper in her hands, and it’ll become clear why once she reaches the dining hall. She’s setting up portraits of the deceased (except for Susan; she leaves that task to someone else) in the same spot that Susan used to put them. They aren’t drawn in the same style, but... Some things can’t be replaced. They can only be carried on by different hands.
Most of the day after that is spent in the sewing room, though she’s embroidering rather than making any kind of clothing. She seems distracted when compared to her usual manner, a fact made clear by the noise of discomfort she makes when she accidentally pricks her finger with a needle.]

Just like that? That's too cruel. He was right there, but she didn't even... Her cheeks feel wet, so Rin's sure she cried in her sleep, but when she wakes she feels so tired. Determined, but grim. So that's the truth about the Grail Kirei spoke of... She should probably be more torn up about her family's dream, but she isn't. She doesn't want some monkey's paw of a weapon. But destroying that weapon...
Rin slaps her face, and drags herself out of bed for the day.
So there's no new floor today, huh? That's a little foreboding, but Rin doesn't mind. She wanted to check out last week's floor a little closer anyways. Thusly, for most of the day you can find her in Library #2. She can't read shit here, but you know what reference books have? Pictures. She's just kind of browsing all over here, trying to get a feel for the subject matter, or if there's any strange ones.
But while she is investigating that, her actual main point of interest is the cat. That's right. This is Investigation: Catfriend. There's a lot of pretending to be studying these books going on, when really she's watching their feline companion to see how it behaves, or if it goes anywhere. She's prepared to stake out here all day, man. However, if it doesn't do anything interesting on its own, she did bring some things with her to see how it'll interact with them. Namely, she's brought the box she and Sayaka found last week.
While Rin burns almost all their daytime hours up there, she's going to end the night in the bar. Depending on how things go, maybe it's celebratory, or maybe she's sulking, who knows? Either way, she's trying to be a little more open, and also a little more adventurous. Brandy is her go-to drink, but she decided to try something new tonight, something she's never heard of.
And uh, weird. It doesn't look like she's been drinking a lot? She's only on her second glass here. But she's drawing kitty faces in the condensation of the glass, and generally staring into the red jewel of the pendant necklace lying in front of her on top of the bar like she's contemplating the mysteries of the universe, and well, maybe she is, given her conversation starter. Her voice is hushed in some kind of awe.]

Well. That certainly was a memory.
Luca is normally an early riser, but he doesn't come out of his room until well after lunchtime on Sunday. When he does appear, he goes up the stairs to look for a new floor, only to find...nothing? Huh.
Luca will spend at least an hour exploring the seventh floor, looking to see if the stairs up are in another location. When that proves to be fruitless, he instead heads down to the billiard room to mess around with the pool stuff for a bit. And later, he can be found in the laundry room cleaning his clothes. It's that time again, he's got to stay fresh and clean.
If anyone looks for him at night, he can be found in the bar. It seems as though he has taken up drinking again. And while he has held together pretty well for most of the day, by the nighttime he has started to get a little saltier than he usually is. Watch out for that.]

It's why she's kind of wandering around, today. It's mostly just to get some energy out of the way, but she's probably around every single place she can get into, just walking around with seemingly endless energy. Maybe eavesdropping, just the slightest bit, if she sees something interesting going on in a room? But mostly wandering. It's nice to do so, for once.
After the meeting, though, she's gonna put the scope on and check out the first floor hallway, outside of the ballroom, and...well, see what happens for the most part. Color her at least somewhat curious about what this is gonna entail.
...Later in the evening, though, Sayaka can actually be found in the first library, and she seems to be cleaning up around the room? She's scrubbing down the paint in here, and mostly just trying to reorganize it a bit. Why? Personal reasons, perhaps. She doesn't seem too put out by it, seeming to hum a tune and clean dutifully.]

[And likewise as always, it doesn't particularly matter if you go or not; he can be heard over the system regardless of wherever you are in the building. More of a formality than anything today, it seems.
Either way, though, it seems he's got a fair amount on his mind.]
From the sound of it, it seems like a bunch of you are determined to see this as some kind of redemption game. Maybe if you don't kill anyone here, that'll get rid of all those things you've done in the past; maybe if you don't give in to temptation, that'll magically make you a better person. Maybe it'll make you a good person. Or at least a person that's worth surviving this entire exercise.
Maybe I want to see how good a person you really are.
What if I were to tell you that your worlds are all at the brink of some sort of cataclysm? That there's something going on here that's larger than all of you combined – that the common thread among you guys is impending complete global annihilation? And sure, maybe you hate your worlds and wouldn't care if they went tits-up. But can you really decide that several billion lives are worth losing because you wanted to spare eleven?
I mean, shit. My world's a crapsack and I'm more of a fuckup than you guys, and I don't know if I could make that decision. So I'm not too sure that anyone looking to call this a fucking redemption could, either. But I've got the power to fix whatever the hell happened in your timeline. To spare your world, if you ask me to. But I'm only willing to do it once you've proven you're willing to sacrifice something.
I'm asking for a handful of lives that are entirely aware of the threat they're under, in exchange for billions who don't even know what's coming.
Kind of an easy choice, if you ask me.

Once she emerges, she’s heading pretty quickly to the dojo. She can’t deny that in addition to all the stress, she feels angry. She’ll spend a while in this room, trying to get all of her energy out so she can at least think calmly, though her preferred means of exercise isn’t available here.
Then, after the meeting, she heads to the lower library. While before she’s only perused the books that were within reach, today she’s using one of the ladders to climb to the higher shelves and see if there’s anything different to read. She doubts there will be anything particularly useful to their situation, even up here, but... There’s a certain level of desperation here. She’s looking over the volumes contained here with clear focus, flipping through anything she comes across before setting it back into the shelf with a sigh.]

But... For the rest of the day? A part of her wants to throw a party, but she had no ideas and that would be tacky after that motive and... the only reason she did was to honor the memory of a woman who had told her it was too short since to miss. Caught up in that emotion and frustrated for it, she ends up going to the Billiards Room where she's ... trying and failing to really break effectively? It's clear she has played before a little but it's also not something she's at all skilled at and it's frustrating her. She huffs as this goes on, and puts her hand on her hip, glaring at the set up as if that'll help.
So... eventually she ends up back the Dining Room, playing with Ditty by way of rolling one of the glass eyes from the vending machine back and forth with the blob. But whenever someone comes in, glancing either at the secrets or the candles, ]

After making breakfast for himself, he returns to training in the gym and dojo. He does a bit of everything here: lifting weights, doing pull-ups and flips, punches and kicks... It actually feels pretty good to get a workout in after being too mentally exhausted to do it for a few days.
Once he's done in there and does some cleaning up, he goes to get Yuri (who should finally be up by now...he hopes) so they can investigate the art storage room. Specifically, they want to look into the secret room with the file cabinets to see if anything has changed in recent weeks.
Sometime in the evening, Rideaux's back in the bar, just kind of mixing up random things. He's seeing if he can put together some Elympion specialties (or something close to them...) today. So come on down if you want a free mixed drink made for you. Otherwise, he can also occasionally be found taking a selfie with the drinks he makes, using the instant camera he got from the vending machine. Sure, it's a limited roll, but it's better than using his phone's battery on way less important selfies.]

Later, she pops up to the second library, thinking there may be something to look for? ...Or maybe just to play with the cat, sue her, but-- Well, what she does find leaves her surprised, because it wasn't there the day before? It's this fucking thing, an old, slightly water-damaged armoire. What's inside? Well, Alex tries to open it, but lo and behold. It's locked.

Is that a stuffed animal? It looks like some sort of cute mouse thing. Seems she's putting the finishing touches on it. She takes her lunch in this room, too. They're fancy little finger sandwiches. She's nomming on them with some tea, and would probably look quite fancy if she wasn't surrounded in batting fluff. It looks like there's a cloud swarming by her ankles here.
Eventually the bulk of that project is finished, and Rin feels somewhat satisfied. There's a little more hand-stitching to be done as a special touch, but she can do that in her room. ...She doesn't really feel like going back there now, and it's this thought which sees her going up to the sixth floor.
Thusly on Thursday evening, you can find Rin in the chapel, of all places. Sitting to the far side of one pew in the middle of the room, her head isn't bowed in prayer, however. Feet drawn up onto the bench with her and hugging her knees close to her chest, she's staring contemplatively at the back of the pew in front of hers, thoughts far away. Churches are a common refuge for those who need space to think. Those who use them are known for doing so quietly, but Rin isn't such a person. Once or twice, she can be heard muttering to herself.]
