Week 8.

WEEK 8 Regardless of what you think of the most recent deaths, four more people have died this week. Milla Maxwell, Angel, Susan Ashworth, and Aligula are gone now, leaving you with about a quarter of your original number. Thirty-five down to twelve - this can't keep going for much longer, can it? Is there anything you can do? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Unlike the previous weeks, however, it seems that either you've reached the end of the line or Jericho has decided to stop rewarding you for your effort; where there would usually be a stairwell to a new floor, you're met with nothing but solid wall. Perhaps it's distressing; perhaps it's a good sign. Only time will tell, and time isn't something you have a lot of around here. PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 12

...It's probably for the best. They're incredibly easy to abuse.

Isn't any weapon, though, when you think about it? Honestly, I've always assumed that the only reason they never took off was because bending could circumvent them fairly easily, so it was more beneficial to look into other kinds of weapons.

It's certainly possible-- though, in a lot of ways, guns are still quicker than people can react.

[He shakes his head.]

Though even without guns and bending, there's no short supply of people getting horrifically violent here.

Well, it's not all that difficult to kill or incapacitate someone to begin with. Once you've managed that, you can do practically anything you like to the body.

You're right, of course.

[He sighs.]

We need to stop this. With the way things are going...

[They're nearly down to a third of their original number, if it gets much lower...]

It's not stopping unless we get out of here before Friday. Everything about this situation is designed to get a body count of at least two every week, with no means of stopping it other than escape.

The one thing we can really hope for is that no one left decides that they absolutely need to kill more than one person for whatever reason.

I know.

And even know no one in our group does act, well... we still have the ticking clock to worry about.

It... doesn't leave much room for error.

Right. I'd prefer if we could keep losses as low as possible, as opposed to, say, someone deciding it's a wonderful idea to kill three people in one night.

Understandable.

We need to put a stop to this, somehow.

[bloodisthicker]

Somehow, yes. But that's a lot easier said than done.

...It is. It's not very realistic to be thinking of ways to stop this, when we don't even know where Jericho is, but I don't want to give up.

It's possible he'll get cocky and give us an opening.

Thaaat would be incredibly convenient!

[He smirks.]

Wouldn't it just. It's a little convenient to just hope for, but...

He's been a little too confident so far, to be sure. I'm not about to give up the chase.

Me either. I mean, granted, he seems to have the power to back it up, but there's got to be something he's overlooking.

Who can say-- he's clearly used to being in charge, but that doesn't mean he's not unstoppable. We'll get the opportunity.

We absolutely will.

....I'm sure he thinks he's untouchable.

I'd prefer he to be as taken by surprise as possible.
