Week 8.

WEEK 8 Regardless of what you think of the most recent deaths, four more people have died this week. Milla Maxwell, Angel, Susan Ashworth, and Aligula are gone now, leaving you with about a quarter of your original number. Thirty-five down to twelve - this can't keep going for much longer, can it? Is there anything you can do? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Unlike the previous weeks, however, it seems that either you've reached the end of the line or Jericho has decided to stop rewarding you for your effort; where there would usually be a stairwell to a new floor, you're met with nothing but solid wall. Perhaps it's distressing; perhaps it's a good sign. Only time will tell, and time isn't something you have a lot of around here. PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 12

Oh please, please! I know my way around things and I can defend myself, but don't make that seem like I'm some brawler or anything. I am a lady.

[ She laughs at this, evil old lady style. ]

Heh, alright.

[ There goes his image of brawler Elda! ]

Good. But don't think I'm a slouch either.

[ She says this with her laugh... intensifying a little. ]

[hesperos]

You ever get a few people who think you are?

[ You know what they say about books and covers... ]

Hopefully not! Do you?

[hesperos]

Oh yeah -- they've totally ended up regretting it, though.

[matchbreaker]

I meant underestimating me. Whoever thought less of one with such obvious muscles as your own really was foolhardy.

[hesperos]

Right.

But for the record, I don't think I've ever underestimated you, probably because even if someone's appearance is what it is, you never know if they can kick your ass or not. Might as well assume people are skilled until proven otherwise.

[matchbreaker]

Oh.

... That's an interesting way to look at it.

[ She says with mild surprise. ]

[hesperos]

It is?

[ Hm ... he'll shrug with a smile. ]

Well, guess so.

[matchbreaker]

Yes, it means you're always on guard. But then, I suppose that you did say Estelle was more capable than she looks.

[ She frowns the moment she said that though. That might've been too much. ]

[hesperos]

[ She's right--it does mean he's always on guard. Sometimes he's imagined that he'd be less so if Estelle hadn't been brought in here with him, but now it's stuck even though she's dead. ]

You remembered when I said that from a few weeks back, huh?

[ The cheeriness is absent, but he doesn't sound angry she brought it up or anything. ]

Well, it is true.

My memory isn't a sieve, you know.

[ that said, more to test than anything, Elda, in one incredibly quick but oddly languid looking movement thrusts forward, bringing one of her claws long lady fingernails up towards Yuri's eye. She intends to stop just short of it, reaching up to close the height difference as best she can.

But mostly she's just seeing hos quick his reaction time is. ]

[hesperos]

[ Yuri's stepping back swiftly - he has enough time to do at least one step. Though if she had pursued he would've likely been on the defensive. Still, his reaction time is pretty good. ]

You feeling suddenly up to a spar or something?

[matchbreaker]

Nope!

[ She pulls back her hands with a smile, clapping them together! ]
