Week 8.

WEEK 8 Regardless of what you think of the most recent deaths, four more people have died this week. Milla Maxwell, Angel, Susan Ashworth, and Aligula are gone now, leaving you with about a quarter of your original number. Thirty-five down to twelve - this can't keep going for much longer, can it? Is there anything you can do? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Unlike the previous weeks, however, it seems that either you've reached the end of the line or Jericho has decided to stop rewarding you for your effort; where there would usually be a stairwell to a new floor, you're met with nothing but solid wall. Perhaps it's distressing; perhaps it's a good sign. Only time will tell, and time isn't something you have a lot of around here. PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 12

Whoa, look at all this stuff... You hit the jackpot!

[Honestly, how did all of this even fit in the vending machine in the first place? Rin tries not to step on anything as she approaches.]

Y-yeah, I'd sure say I did...

[Sayaka seems to laugh a bit, though, good natured--if anything, she just seems highly amused by this.]

I don't suppose there's anything of yours in here, Tohsaka-san? I don't think I plan to keep all of this, but I've seen people get stuff from home in here. With how many things I have, I'd be surprised if I didn't get something!

I haven't seen anything of mine come out of this in a while...

[She kind of decided to take a break from using the vending machine, after one run she got a present her father made her, and then her pendant immediately after that. But she does tend to glance at what others got from time to time, out of curiosity. Looking over what Sayaka has here, she doesn't see anything of hers either.]

I'll take the ribbons though, if you don't want them.

[Sayaka waves her hand a bit, dismissively, while she...continues to look around at all of this mess, jesus christ.]

Gosh, this is...gonna be quite a few trips though. I don't suppose I could ask you for a little bit of assistance?

[Rin collects them, then! Well, all but two... the pink ones that already look like they were tied into a bow, as compared to the plain ribbons. Crouched down, she looks back Sayaka's way as she picks them up.]

Don't you think you should work out those muscles? I'm sure you could do it in one go if you tried.

[...Rin, oh my god. Sayaka's look goes utterly deadpan and she waves her limbs a bit.]

Tohsaka-san, I do not have that many muscles to speak of, you know! I'm pretty sure my limbs would just snap if I tried to carry all of this back at once!

[By the grin that cracks across Rin's face, like she's all too pleased with herself, it's clear she was just teasing Sayaka. Absolutely worth it.]

Weeelllll~ If you're not willing to even try, I suppose there's nothing left but to assist you. I'll get my sleeping bag.

[...Rin, that's just gonna make her obstinate--]

Fine, fine! I'll give it a try, then, and maybe I'll surprise myself!

[Please stop her, oh dear god, she's trying to stack it all up so she can get it off the ground and she is terrible at stacking.]

[—oh no, it backfired. Oh no, Rin's bratty enough to not intervene right away. I mean, she's thinking about it, but Sayaka said she couldn't on her own and she knows she was just teasing her, right??? Or maybe she really will be good at it???]

Hey, that stack job has zero structural integrity. [Watches a little more, and oh no—] Come on, Sayaka, you can't hold weapons like that.

[Why this, Rin, what the hell did she do--]

It's not like I'm ever gonna use half of this, you know, how the heck am I suppose to make this look! Like one of those block towers you pull out brick by brick?

[GESTURES AT ALL OF THIS?!]

It won't be sturdy if it doesn't fit together at least a little, it'll go every which way in your arms. Just leave behind the stuff you don't want.

...That's more than half of this, you know. That just seems like it's absolutely unfair to the challenge if I do this.

[Mumble mumble, grumble grumble, let her mess around with shit--]

Come on, I was just teasing you before. [Huff.] Don't take it so seriously!

[destage]

[Sayaka's cheeks promptly puff a bit.]

How am I not supposed to? I don't exactly like to back down, you know!

[heritrix]

No one does, but knowing when to do so is good tactics. Ask any general.

[destage]

This isn't a war! [HUFFS...but...] Then why did you challenge me?

[heritrix]

Because it was amusing, of course.

[...Rin, you little shit.

It takes a couple of seconds, but have some paperwork chucked at your head for that, Rin.]

[heritrix]

[...Man, even if she dodges or tries to catch, it's paper, so it's going to go everywhere. Spsh, spsh, spsh, paper fluttering all around! Dodge she does, though, weaving behind the wall for protection, with a smile and a placating tone of voice.]

Come on, I couldn't have known you'd take it so seriously.

Sayaka sees a Life Preserver and throws that instead!]

[With what hands??? That kind of like bounces off Rin's shoulder with a little oof, but she laughs and catches it before it can fall on the floor, coming back in the doorway.]

We're learning some interesting things about you now, though! I should have expected an idol would have great balance.

[She's going to put that life preserver on top of Sayaka's head, like a crown.]
