Week 8.

WEEK 8 Regardless of what you think of the most recent deaths, four more people have died this week. Milla Maxwell, Angel, Susan Ashworth, and Aligula are gone now, leaving you with about a quarter of your original number. Thirty-five down to twelve - this can't keep going for much longer, can it? Is there anything you can do? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Unlike the previous weeks, however, it seems that either you've reached the end of the line or Jericho has decided to stop rewarding you for your effort; where there would usually be a stairwell to a new floor, you're met with nothing but solid wall. Perhaps it's distressing; perhaps it's a good sign. Only time will tell, and time isn't something you have a lot of around here. PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 12

He did? Damn, I don't think I've ever heard of that even from back at home.

[ Though, he does furrow his brows. ]

You think it's because... he blames himself for it?

That's possible-- it was a contraption his young daughter had created, and it... didn't work as expected, to put it mildly.

I knew he was innocent, we all did, but that's the problem of being a police officer, I needed to prove it. According to the memories I've gotten back, I did, I think...

But it took an incredibly long time.

So he probably thought it was his fault for not being vigilant enough, then. Or something I'd guess anyway.

[ ... That sounds like it sucks majorly, though. ]

How long did it take?

Ten years.

We very nearly ran out of time.

[hesperos]

[ ...Holy crap. ]

If you ran out of time, would your friend have...?

[ He doesn't finish, but... yeah. ]

....Yeah, he would have.

He escaped, actually, before it happened. I'm not sure how it happened? But I brought him to the Justice Minister to stall for time.

Well, good on you for being able to pull something like that off. Ten years is one hell of a long time to keep even trying for that sort of thing.

[ Cabanela has earned some respect from Yuri for his dedication in trying to help out his friend. Not many would still keep trying. ]

I'd do it all over again, if I needed to. I don't regret a moment.
