Week 8.

WEEK 8 Regardless of what you think of the most recent deaths, four more people have died this week. Milla Maxwell, Angel, Susan Ashworth, and Aligula are gone now, leaving you with about a quarter of your original number. Thirty-five down to twelve - this can't keep going for much longer, can it? Is there anything you can do? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Unlike the previous weeks, however, it seems that either you've reached the end of the line or Jericho has decided to stop rewarding you for your effort; where there would usually be a stairwell to a new floor, you're met with nothing but solid wall. Perhaps it's distressing; perhaps it's a good sign. Only time will tell, and time isn't something you have a lot of around here. PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 12

Ohhh, so it's like a book for all of you! That makes sense--did they all write a little something in this, too? What did they like?

[Color her curious about the people the book was made for!]

Hmm...it'd kind of depend on who. How about I start with Estelle?

[ He smiles, and yeah it's tough about him to talk about Estelle again. But, he doesn't want to keep from mentioning her again or feel like it's a bad thing to bring her up. It doesn't seem fair. ]

She liked stuff like Udon Noodles, Sushi, Tempura, and a lot of other stuff in that similar category. She also liked a few sweets too.

[...She was about to tell him he didn't have to, but...well, she'll let Yuri when he does. It makes sense to her, at least, though she has to admit...]

Wow, I think I've actually heard of all of those? Those are some pretty staple dishes, back home...I wish I'd asked her about that sooner. [Her smile is a bit sad.] But sweets make sense, honestly. Sweet girls like sweet things!

You have, huh? You sure your world's not just an alternate version of ours?

[ By ours, he means himself and Estelle, anyway. He doesn't exactly know what to say about the part there, about her not having the chance so he'll leave it for now. ]

But yeah, that's about right.

...You know, I actually didn't think of that? [H u h] I don't believe I've heard anything about it, but I don't doubt that where you come from could share similarities to Japan...can you tell me a bit about it?

Well, our world's called Terca Lumireis.

[ Hmmm.... u h. Where else does he start here -- ]

There's this stuff called 'aer' that allows people to cast magic, and when it's refined it's called mana. So if there's anything like that in your world, that'd be another similarity.

There's also monsters, ships, Entelexia...stuff like that. Any of that sounds like it'd be a similarity shared with Japan?

[...Well, for starters--]

Not...not a lot--we do have ships, but there are multiple kinds. Ones that travel across water, and ones that travel into space, but...honestly, we don't even have anything like 'aer' or 'mana', or anything like the Entelexia. Maybe gods and goddesses...?

[She remembers Estelle talking about people worshiping them...]

...Perhaps the food really is all we share. We live without most of the things you've described.

Probably. Well, that's not too unusual considering everything.

[ Oh well. He did mostly mean it as a joke in the first place, anyway. ]

... Say, you mentioned something about ships traveling into space. Is that sort of thing difficult to manage back on your world or is it as easy as using ships on water?

[ Also, what is space. ]

It is, actually. Considering that you have to be able to have enough power in the ship itself to leave the Earth entirely, and you have to have so many preparations...well, I've only heard about this stuff from the internet, but you really have to be prepared, or else you'll wind up getting really hurt.

[...dead, you'll wind up dead is what she means.]

That sounds kinda like a pain in the ass.

I'm also guessing if you screw up, then people might be getting more than just really injured.

[ As in, he figures the whole 'leave Earth' means 'leaving the planet' and 'venturing into the unknown' which he can at least assume that there's a higher chance of dying away from the planet in a ship then sailing on the planet in a ship. ]

...I was trying not to be morbid, but. Yeah. You'll...you'll likely die if you screw something up, either during liftoff or in orbit...

[she has never looked up space death and quite frankly she does not want to]

Wow, sounds pretty scary.

[ Except, he doesn't sound scary, probably because he's Yuri and he can't really comprehend this thing very well due to technology limits (tm). ]

So, I'd ask you how space works with the whole 'liftoff' and 'orbit' thing but I think that'd take forever to explain. And that's why I'll just leave it at that.

For now I'm just gonna thank you for getting all of this stuff so I can get this recipe book again, and I'll remember to drop that list of recipes for you sometime later. Sound like a good takeaway from all of that?
