WEEK 6.

WEEK 6

You've lost a lot of people this week, haven't you? Katniss Everdeen and Weiss Schnee were killed for rule violations, while Chie Hori and Frank Archer were murdered by Mikoto Suoh and Yuuki Terumi. It doesn't really matter how they died, though, does it? After all, they're dead now and the only thing you can do is keep moving forward.

It seems like there's no end in sight.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Changes were promised to you this week; while Sunday dawns seeming no different from the previous weeks, it seems one change is going to remain a constant - namely, a new floor has been opened up to you. Whether this is a promising sign or not is something that you're going to need to decide for yourself.

The important thing, for now, is that you continue to do well.

[Well, Sayaka was mostly coming in to see if something interesting was in the room when she catches Kyrie--and that question. That...actually causes her to pause for a bit while Kyrie muses, before she'll knock on the door to alert her of her presense.]

Are you looking for an answer, Ushiromiya-san..? Or asking no one in particular?

[Hearing Sayaka startles Kyrie for a moment. This academy is so large, the odds someone would arrive right at this point aren't exactly sky-high. But it happened. Kyrie smiles momentarily]

It was no one in particular -- but I'd like an answer nonetheless. It's the kind of topic that requires a lot of thought, and I feel I'm not closer to the answer than before.

[Well, she has only started to think about this seriously since she woke up yesterday]

No, I think...I get you, there.

[Sayaka smiles, though, and finds a place to sit down.]

This is just my own, so take it with a grain of salt...but the best thing to do, in this situation? Is ensure that you survive by taking any and all caution you can. It's mostly in keeping yourself on a rigid schedule, enough to distract yourself with, and ways to reduce your own stress to keep your mind clear and focused. Of course, it doesn't hurt to find people that you can trust too...they can really save you from yourself, if you're having trouble with it.

Outside of this place, though? I'd say that going out of your way to avoid repeating the mistakes that caused something to happen in the first place is priority number one. Other than that...ensuring that you live your life to the fullest, with no regrets. You're still alive to create a place in the world, so...don't squander it.

[...That probably sounds far too optimistic, but it's...definitely coming from an unusual place, and seems to be said with a lot of conviction.]

Of course...for one's self, I think it's best to find one's own reason for continuing with their life as it is. You must have something, right, Ushiromiya-san?

[Kyrie listens attentively. Sayaka's definitely right, ensuring her own survival is necessary. Finding people she can trust...well that's easy enough. There are several people in this place she trusts, and who she believes wouldn't kill her. Such positive thoughts don't extend as far as doing anything like sacrificing herself for them -- hah! She wouldn't do that not even for Rudolf, Battler or Ange -- but she can't deny she has formed bonds with some of the people here.

Not repeating the same mistakes...]

I don't intend to repeat the same mistakes, that much I can promise you.

[Whether that means she's not going to kill, or if she'll kill and this time she'll get away with it...that remains to be seen]

Well, as callous as it may sound, right now my main reason to live is myself. That may change in the future, though. My memories still need to show me what happened to my husband and my son, so if they're okay, they'll be reasons to live too.

...I don't think that's callous. If you can live for yourself, that's good, but if you can live for them too, that's even better. It's certainly not wrong to want that, you know?

[Sayaka smiles when she says that.]

For your sake--your own, I mean--I hope that they'll be well, Ushiromiya-san. Your son will be happy to have his mother back in his life, I'm sure of it!

I have the feeling he will be. [He's going to be mighty pissed with Rudolf, but it's likely he wouldn't blame Kyrie] Besides, my daughter is still back at home. She'll be a reason to live, too.

...You must have a really wonderful family, Ushiromiya-san. They're so lucky to have a mom and wife like you in their lives.

[It's enviable, honestly.]

Maybe someday I could introduce them to you. I think they'll like you.

What are they like? [Sayaka leans in a bit from where she's sitting, in interest.] They must be very good children, right?

[Oh boy, where to start?]

Battler's eighteen this year. He wears his heart in his sleeve, he is friendly and can be emotional. I have heard people say it's difficult not to like him, and even though he can be a dork, he has a good heart. He also tries hard to follow logic. I taught him everything he knows about that.

[There's something different in Kyrie's way of talking about Battler. She doesn't sound fond of him because hey, eighteen years of resentment don't go away in one week, but...she sounds slightly more sincere about the praise, instead of talking about this as if it's a fact or common sense]

Ange is just six years old. She's a cute little girl, bubbly and cheery, but sometimes she turns so serious and determined she reminds me of myself. I have high hopes for her. I think she'll grow to be a smart person, she'll get far in life.

[Ahhh, hearing Kyrie talk about her kids like this...even if it's clear that maybe something happened, between her and Battler. Maybe they were estranged, for a bit...?]

Battler-san sounds like he's grown up to be someone you can be proud of...and Ange-chan sounds incredibly sweet, you know? She sounds like she's probably a joy to be around, and like she'll grow up to be a kind, but determined young lady. I think you've placed your hopes in the right girl...if there's ever a chance, I would love the chance to meet them.

[Who knows if it'll happen, but...honestly, hearing Kyrie talk about them so highly just kind of makes it seem like it'd be a wonderful idea.]
