WEEK 6.

WEEK 6

You've lost a lot of people this week, haven't you? Katniss Everdeen and Weiss Schnee were killed for rule violations, while Chie Hori and Frank Archer were murdered by Mikoto Suoh and Yuuki Terumi. It doesn't really matter how they died, though, does it? After all, they're dead now and the only thing you can do is keep moving forward.

It seems like there's no end in sight.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Changes were promised to you this week; while Sunday dawns seeming no different from the previous weeks, it seems one change is going to remain a constant - namely, a new floor has been opened up to you. Whether this is a promising sign or not is something that you're going to need to decide for yourself.

The important thing, for now, is that you continue to do well.

PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 19

[She nods.]

It's strange. Just prior to arriving here, I had left the castle grounds for the first time and started to see the world... I was just becoming accustomed to that before I arrived here, and it's hard to become accustomed to being indoors once more.

bloodisthicker: there, i said it (your face is a huge jerk.)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2017-10-17 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh... yes, I can definitely see how that would make things worse. I don't really have that kind of relationship with the world, but... it's definitely disheartening that we haven't even seen the sun for however long.

[She gives a nod.]

These lights do still fascinate me, but they are still lackluster when compared with a more natural form of light, I think. Not to mention everything else we can’t experience while we’re locked up here.
bloodisthicker: punched any equalists lately (so how you doin')

No, I definitely agree. Besides, there are better wonders of innovation that work better outside than in a building, if you ask me.

[She tilts her head, curious.]

Are you speaking of any in particular?
bloodisthicker: it never fails. (i saw it in my coffee.)

Well, you couldn't fit cars and airships inside most buildings, for one. Cars are... well, they're like those trucks I told you about, except trucks tend to be bulkier and more utilitarian. And airships are basically exactly what they sound like, in that they're ships that fly through the air.

[Her eyes light up a little as he describes that, especially the last part.]

You have entire ships that can fly in the air? How does such a thing work?
bloodisthicker: because here is a man of wealth and taste (cue up some rolling stones)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2017-10-21 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I'm not really an engineer, so I couldn't tell you exactly how it works... but the basic gist of it is that there are actually certain gases that are lighter than air, and if you fill some kind of container with them, you can make that container float in the air. Airships control lifting off and landing by adjusting how much of that kind of gas there is in the containers versus how much actual air they have to lift.

[Something in her expression grows a little sentimental and warm.]

It sounds wonderful. I have only been flying a few times, but - every time, it is magnificent. I can't imagine how lovely it must be to have such technology readily available.
bloodisthicker: oh wait it's not an edgeworth joke (give 'em the ol' razzle dazzle)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2017-10-23 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Even if it's more common, it's definitely still an experience, that's for sure. I think pretty much everyone who's ever been on one remembers their very first time flying.
bloodbiter: (keep the seat warm for me thanks)

[personal profile] bloodbiter 2017-10-25 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
It's very rare where I come from. There are only certain people who can fly, and it was only recently one of them took me for a ride... Though I imagine that feels very different than flying inside a ship. That must be an incredible experience, too.
bloodisthicker: how you think you're getting out of this (oh that is cute)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2017-11-02 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, really? There are people basically fly by airbending, but they're pretty rare nowadays. Airbenders are strongly associated with creatures called sky bison, though, which are big enough to carry people and can fly with really no issue.
