WEEK 6.

WEEK 6

You've lost a lot of people this week, haven't you? Katniss Everdeen and Weiss Schnee were killed for rule violations, while Chie Hori and Frank Archer were murdered by Mikoto Suoh and Yuuki Terumi. It doesn't really matter how they died, though, does it? After all, they're dead now and the only thing you can do is keep moving forward.

It seems like there's no end in sight.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Changes were promised to you this week; while Sunday dawns seeming no different from the previous weeks, it seems one change is going to remain a constant - namely, a new floor has been opened up to you. Whether this is a promising sign or not is something that you're going to need to decide for yourself.

The important thing, for now, is that you continue to do well.

PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 19

Um.]

Holy shit.

[Sayaka has very decidedly stunned Rideaux with that, good fucking lord. What- What else does he say to this? Absolutely nothing tactful, that's for sure:]

Nothing quite on the level of the trainwreck you've just described, for starters.

[...Maybe she'll actually apologize for that in a bit, but Sayaka just...takes a bit of a breath at that, plopping herself on the ground. Still kind of lowkey vibrating a bit, but...]

...Small mercy, I imagine. You've probably dealt with a lot of stupid things yourself, but I'd certainly hope it's not that bad.

[...]

Sorry, by the way. It's been a rather bad week, and it's only Monday.

[His life may be something of a trainwreck, but at least he knows it. He can't imagine how disorienting something like what Sayaka described would be to find out through dreams.]

I don't believe it can get much worse than discovering your own death, no. I imagine that is a long story, so I won't force you to go further.

[That's definitely not the sort of topic he'd like to focus on anyway, because of reasons.

Shaking his head, he chooses to take a seat nearby. He still needs to finish calming down from the flips anyway.]

No need to apologize. I can very clearly tell. [...but since he didn't indulge her in her question, he will now.] I find myself struggling with the monotony lately- the frustrating reality that this is our life now. It has been at least a month at this point, and it has become increasingly apparent that the only way they're going to give us an alternative exit is if we keep playing for however long it takes. Who even knows how many of us will be left by then?
destage: (HMM ♡ Observing intensifies)

[personal profile] destage 2017-10-18 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
...Thanks, actually.

[It's quickly said, though, and she shakes her head a bit. She could explain, but she doesn't...well, honestly, have the proper memory of her death back. It's just a delayed conclusion, at this point.

...Still, Sayaka listens to Rideaux when he sits nearby, just kind of observing him for a bit. That's an interesting thing she didn't really think about--they really have been living a monotonous life since they got here, haven't they? Sure, it's been jolted just the slightest bit sometimes, but...well...

Huh.]

It really is a crummy reality, isn't it? That we're basically going to be playing this game until we screw up a trial, or there's just two left to kill each other. [Sayaka tilts her head a bit.] Because I doubt that they'll just give us an alternative that easily. We still have the time limit hanging over our heads, if we get the idea to stay pacifistic...

[Sayaka's eyes wander for a second, squinting at...nothing in particular, before her look comes back to Rideaux.]

We'd have 152 hours, with everyone we have here. And with Alena-san gone, and that other girl in charge, now? I sincerely believe that they aren't going to give us another way out. They've screwed up enough as it is.

evilfrenzy: (♟ are you kidding me)

Oh. [...] It gets even worse when you point out the actual remaining hours as well. And that's not even considering the possibility of more multiple victim and culprit situations.

[Because a body pileup is clearly what they need right now.]

You're probably right, though. Unless alternative exits are within their "rulebook" [he puts on a different tone for a moment there with motioned airquotes, unimpressed] or they need a specific number of us at the end, I don't see why they wouldn't just continue to let us off each other until an end is forced.

It's infuriating to be forced to deal with it though, with hardly any information to go off of apart from the cryptic bullshit Jericho keeps giving us about "a certain four".
destage: (SWEAT ♡ I'm scared...)

[personal profile] destage 2017-10-22 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
...Yeah. I imagine it's not.

[And yet she said it anyway. Go her, the master of tact. She'll nod her head in agreement at that, though, until the end...until something happens. There's a lot of different ways someone could go about murdering someone, and she hates thinking like that.

...So she won't. Sayaka sighs a bit.]

You'll get no disagreement, honestly. If we had more luck with finding stuff, I'd say that our time was being used wisely, but...I have to wonder if they're getting crafty, now. They obviously have more access to the place than we do, right? So if they make us restless...

[Who knows what'll happen? Maybe someone'll be shoved in the incinerator.]

...We've already got two of them down, though. He just...seems so happy, every time they die. Like they're the intended targets of this, and we're just...here for the sake of it.
