WEEK 6.
You've lost a lot of people this week, haven't you? Katniss Everdeen and Weiss Schnee were killed for rule violations, while Chie Hori and Frank Archer were murdered by Mikoto Suoh and Yuuki Terumi. It doesn't really matter how they died, though, does it? After all, they're dead now and the only thing you can do is keep moving forward. It seems like there's no end in sight. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Changes were promised to you this week; while Sunday dawns seeming no different from the previous weeks, it seems one change is going to remain a constant - namely, a new floor has been opened up to you. Whether this is a promising sign or not is something that you're going to need to decide for yourself. The important thing, for now, is that you continue to do well. |

[ Other than this new hair which is is glancing at a lot but trying very hard not to say anything about and it's fucking killing her oh my god her long hair was nice what the fuck.
... But still! ]
Hey, as long as you like it, I'm fine with the results.

So! Here we are, in the kitchen--Ditty, you stay up on her shoulder for the time being, adults are getting to work. Let her just get some ingredients--]
Alright, the rice flour should be over here, and so's the matcha...can you grab me some hot water? There should be a measuring cup up in the cupboards--fill it up until the 200ml mark, okay?
no subject
[ She sounds somewhat worried that she can't... do that... but hey, she's got his. Where's a measure cup what was it? Probably the one with the lines, right? She spends far too long working that out before making her way to the sink.
Hot... water.
So let's wait to see the hot water come out. ]
no subject
Did you. Did you literally not have faucets...Elda...okay, Sayaka's getting the ingredients prepared, but...]
...Elda? Is everything okay over there?
no subject
[ How hot is hot... how hot does hot need to be?! She fumbles a bit, running her hand under until it burns a little, yelps, and then makes to collect that in the measuring cup. ]
no subject
Well, the hot water is what was needed, and Sayaka's got the rest of this stuff ready. Alright, she'll get a bowl out, and open up the rice flours...]
Okay, so what you're gonna want to hand mix these flours together...once that's done, then I can start adding the hot water, and we'll continue mixing. Does that sound fine to you?
no subject
[ But.
Yes, what is she hand mixing here again? ]
no subject
Ah, yes--sorry, I forgot to give you the proportions for these! I'm silly, uh...you're gonna want 160m of this flour [Sayaka points to some joshinko non-glutinous rice flour], 40m of this flour [Points to some shiratamako glutinous rice flour], and...the recipes I've had always tell me to put 60m of sugar, but personally, I go with a little more to make it sweeter.
[She thankfully got that squared away while Elda was taking care of the water.]
You're going to want to mix these all together--the dry ingredients first, and then you steadily add the hot water. You're going to want to mix it around until it has the texture of an earlobe. Does that make sense?
no subject
[ But she nods, and then after a moment, looking at this flour and her long trails of hair...
... Well, this will be the first time that Sayaka will ever see this happen, but Elda's taking a step back to try to do it up in a bun to get it out of the way. ]
no subject
[Oh! That gets Sayaka to pause a bit, when she sees her change up her hair, but...Sayaka smiles a bit? That looks super nice, actually, and she'll wait.]
All prepared, Elda? Just be careful with it.
no subject
... But yes, she smiles and will go to work!! On this!! hopefully the water didn't get too cold. ]
no subject
Sayaka watches with glee, just kind of...really happy? Like, damn. You go, Mom.]
no subject
Maybe.
It's an effort, to be sure, but this is a world she wants to at least try to understand. So she'll keep it up, pouring in the water and such - should have worn an apron. ]
no subject
[...She is actually gonna cheer a bit, and bounce in her spot, but also try not to be too hands on? She just wants to keep an eye on Elda, maybe help her if she's struggling, but...Elda seems to have a good direction already?
She's happy as a clam.]
no subject
Okay so what comes after this? ]
no subject
Okay! Now, we need to split the dough and roll it into balls...you can usually make them as small or big as you want to, but they should be able to fit on a stick. I usually go for about...nine per batch, so they'll be the perfect size. They don't have to be perfect, though.
[Split it into nine chunks, basically--Sayaka makes motions with her hands, kind of like cutting a pizza? So Elda can get the idea to cut the dough like that.]
no subject
[ But... okay, so we're using this knife? She looks a little unsure with the blade, but she can do this, right? Or no, we're doing it by hand?
No, she'll follow Sayaka's lead. Nod!
... These might be uneven in size. ]
no subject
[...how hilariously uneven are these, are they like. Super uneven or are they at least trying to be uniform...]
no subject
The big one is also more lumpy. ]
Is it? Well, I should hope-- ah, you like them sweet, should we put more sugar on them?
no subject
[That's usually the point you add the matcha, but...hrm.]
I don't think it'd be a bad idea, but you might need to roll them up again so the sugar doesn't stick out too much. The texture would be all grainy if you just rolled them in sugar...
no subject
[ And she's off to get!!!
... Brown sugar? ]
What about this stuff?
