WEEK 6 You've lost a lot of people this week, haven't you? Katniss Everdeen and Weiss Schnee were killed for rule violations, while Chie Hori and Frank Archer were murdered by Mikoto Suoh and Yuuki Terumi. It doesn't really matter how they died, though, does it? After all, they're dead now and the only thing you can do is keep moving forward. It seems like there's no end in sight. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Changes were promised to you this week; while Sunday dawns seeming no different from the previous weeks, it seems one change is going to remain a constant - namely, a new floor has been opened up to you. Whether this is a promising sign or not is something that you're going to need to decide for yourself. The important thing, for now, is that you continue to do well. PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 19

Yes, that's right. Our castle was several miles from the sea.

[ Huh... she didn't see that coming, but she nods all the same ]

The Japan we moved to - where we live now - is also an island. It was weird to be there at first, even if we did live close to the sea back in Europe too.

[bloodbiter]

Do you at least enjoy living on an island, Elda?

[matchbreaker]

Probably! I can't say I've ever thought too hard about the island part of it all.

[bloodbiter]

It's nice to be able to visit the ocean often, though, isn't it?

[matchbreaker]

I've never done that overmuch. I mean, the sun would reduce me to ask, after all.

[ Shrug. ]

[bloodbiter]

[Oh.]

That's - really? Why?

[matchbreaker]

It's the nature of vampires? The last time I saw the sun directly on was when I was thirteen. We're creatures of the night.

[ She gestures above them, the overhead lights. ]

Even this much has been hurting my eyes.

[bloodbiter]

I see. I didn't realize... We had no such people in my world. Do you miss being able to experience it? Sunlight, I mean.

[matchbreaker]

Not once.

[ She lied. Of course it's a lie, and of course it's more complex than that. But she answers it with an easy tone and slight smile. ]

That was never my world to begin with.

[bloodbiter]

Do you normally sleep during the day, then, rather than at night?

[matchbreaker]

Yeah. Normally, if I'm not in a long rest I keep a fairly standard ten to six night. Or well, it can vary depending on the season.

[bloodbiter]

Because of how the light stays longer in some seasons? I imagine summer is inconvenient for you...

[matchbreaker]

It truly is, even if the summer night sky looks the best of any of them.

[bloodbiter]

Does it? How so?

[matchbreaker]

It's clear, for one. You can see the starts, and the cool air feels nice. Winter nights can be so cloud and frigid, I actually need to wear boots.

[ Clearly a sacrifice given her still not- shoed feet right now. ]

[bloodbiter]

I take it you don't like the snow, then?

[matchbreaker]

Mmm, I've never minded it per se, but once it's around you need to adapt to it, you know? Not that the part of Japan we're in often gets too heavy of snowfall.

[ A shrug. ]

That's more the Assembly's region in the north.
