WEEK 6 You've lost a lot of people this week, haven't you? Katniss Everdeen and Weiss Schnee were killed for rule violations, while Chie Hori and Frank Archer were murdered by Mikoto Suoh and Yuuki Terumi. It doesn't really matter how they died, though, does it? After all, they're dead now and the only thing you can do is keep moving forward. It seems like there's no end in sight. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Changes were promised to you this week; while Sunday dawns seeming no different from the previous weeks, it seems one change is going to remain a constant - namely, a new floor has been opened up to you. Whether this is a promising sign or not is something that you're going to need to decide for yourself. The important thing, for now, is that you continue to do well. PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 19

[Pfft, she feels like she's dealing with a mage from the Association when he bows like that, so properly formal. It's a little different from the pledges Archer would show her.

...And speak (or think, rather) or the devil. Rin blinks at his question, then turns to look back at the painting in question.]

Mm. I supposed I'll have to, won't I? I went to all that trouble, so I might as well hang it up.

[Rideaux takes another look at it too, studying it for a moment.]

It's not bad. I'd say it's worth hanging up. So, is that your exception? [...to elaborate:] Someone from your world?

[Oh, the praise is going to make her preen a little. It's not museum quality art, she knows, but she thought it turned out alright.]

That would be my exception, yes... Though where exactly he's from could be right or wrong, depending on how you look at it.

Why do you say that?

[Rideaux honestly knows pretty much jack about Rin's world. Of course, that'll end up changing, but for now...]

...Mm. Your expertise lies in dimensions, doesn't it? So I can explain this plainly.

The man in the picture is a future incarnation of someone I know, but from another timeline.

[Sure enough, he understands that easily.]

I see. And he has made his way to your own timeline for whatever reason?

[heritrix]

It's a temporary thing. He fought by my side for a little while as a partner, but...

[She trails off, briefly. While the words flow together nicely when she speaks again, it somehow seems she's skipping over a lot too.]

Eventually, he'll disappear back to where he came from. This hill is his world.

[If it's overly-technical stuff, he totally gets the desire to skip over it. He nods along, forming his own thoughts from what Rin has told him.]

Does he have some sort of control over time and space?

[heritrix]

[Rin shakes her head.]

No. He exists completely outside of time and space, actually. [Her face is a little sadder at that, regarding the painting.] But you could say his manager does. He made a contract with them, and... They provide the means for him to carry it out, essentially.
