Week 7.

WEEK 7 Orihime Inoue, Estellise Sidos Heurassein, and Kirei Kotomine all died this past week. One of your Coordinators died as well, leaving you with a new face but still no end to this. Several of you are finding yourselves at a crossroads: either keep moving forward, or accept the inevitability of fate. It's your own choice, your own decision; no one's going to make it for you. Over half of you are gone now. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Once again, a new floor has been opened to you; unfortunately, either this is a particularly strange reward or Jericho is starting to get downright sarcastic. Perhaps there's something in it for you despite the setup; who knows, though there's really only one way to find out. PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 16

[And with that, he'll beckon Yuri forward just like last time. Let's do this thing.]

You bet I will!

[ Let's rock and roll!

Yuri's going to break into a run after that beckoning, coming forth and aiming with his left fist towards the man's stomach in an attempt to land a hit as well as to start them off. ]

[evilfrenzy]

[So a similar start, is it... Rideaux smirks. Things have changed since their first sparring match, and Rideaux has been able to get his reflexes back up to snuff. Rather than jumping away, this time he waits for Yuri to get close enough before dropping down below the punch and swinging his leg out in an attempt to knock Yuri off his feet.]

[hesperos]

[ Of all of the things Yuri should've probably expected, it was the usage of new tactics. His bad, honestly, because even if he wasn't getting overconfidant here, he should've at least anticipated the idea.

Yuri notices that Rideaux's changed his position, and even though he goes to do the same in anticipation, part of him knows it's a little bit late for that. The attack connects, and Yuri's falling backwards, landing on his back with a grunt. Though, he's not going to let himself lie there and recovers by springing himself to his feet with a push forward from his legs.

He's going to also see about going in for another attack--running forward and making a round-house kick in an attempt to land a hit on the man's right side (provided if he's, you know, standing at this point.) ]

[Yes, Rideaux is back on his feet by the time Yuri comes back at him. He certainly doesn't want to take the brunt of that to his side (...force of habit, really, even though it's not really a weak spot spot for him anymore) but he doesn't quite have enough time to get out of the way either. So he's going to have to compromise a bit. He lifts his arm up to to block the kick, wincing as it collides. They are going to end up with a bunch of bruises again, aren't they?

He's not going to let up on the fast pace of this match though, and so he takes this moment to attempt to land a hit on Yuri's open side with his free arm.]

[hesperos]

[ They are, which is always fun!

... Yuri's going to be a little more on top of his game this time, moving an arm down to intercept that hit with a block of his own, and though he doesn't wince outwardly, he knows it's going to leave a mark probably. He's going to be smirking, not in an egotistical manner, but rather in the way someone does when they're very much enjoying the fight, because that is exactly what's going on here.

Even so, though, he can't help a quip of his own. ]

That all you got?

[ Yuri's going to go in for another punch, trying to land a hit with his free hand on the man's chest. ]

[evilfrenzy]

[Wow. Rideaux doesn't humor that with a response just yet, as he's forced to make a move to block a hit to his chest. He shifts back to hopefully avoid the brunt of it before making a grab at the wrist of the arm Yuri just came in with. Surely, Yuri must know what might come if it connects.]

[hesperos]

[ ... You know the funny thing about Yuri and opening his big damn mouth? It seems to be a reoccurring element that happens and ends with him thinking it bit him in the ass somehow, because that is certainly what is happening right now!!

The grabbing of the wrist is successful, but Yuri is also going to try to see about trying to give a low kick at one of Rideaux's leg in an attempt to make him let go. You know, because he's trying to avoid whatever Rideaux has in store for him...which probably might be another go at throwing him into the mats, isn't it. ]

[evilfrenzy]

[That's a good guess, honestly. It's what he was planning to do too, until Yuri came right back with a kick before he could complete his own move.

He'll take that hit though, but it has the opposite effect in that his grip only tightens on Yuri's arm as he twists he yanks Yuri forward and moves to knee him in the stomach.]

[hesperos]

[ ... That hurt like a bitch, goddamn, judging by the pained expression on his face. He's going to need a moment to recover here. But once he does, if Rideaux's still holding onto his arm, he's going to try to throw a punch at his face -- anything to make him let go, really. ]

[evilfrenzy]

[That is definitely a surefire way to get him to let go, because he's not going to let himself get punched in the face if he can help it. He swiftly leaps backward.]

I can't believe you'd go for my face. You could've given me a black eye.

[...yes that is Rideaux being mildly offended about something that was completely fair in a sparring match.]

[hesperos]

[ Wow Rideaux, pls. Yuri does not look undeterred in the slightest--he considers punches towards people's faces fair game!! ]

All's fair in a sparring match, you know. I'm sure you could handle it, or am I wrong?

[ Yuri just gives his usual confident smirk as he starts forward, with throwing what looks like to be another punch towards Rideaux's face. But in reality, it's actually a feint for something else -- an attempt for a grab at one of Rideaux's arms. ]

[evilfrenzy]

It's not a matter of being able to handle it--

[He just really doesn't want his face to be messed up. He takes pride in it, you know!!

He was about to start rushing at Yuri, but Yuri gets to him first. He actually looks kind of pissed when he realizes Yuri is going for his face again, but he does exactly what Yuri expects and moves to dodge just like before. It gives Yuri the perfect opportunity to grab him.

Shit.

He'll make an attempt to twist out of this, but changes are Yuri's got him for whatever he's planning to do.]

[hesperos]

[ That just probably continues to amuse Yuri more than anything--and as he grabs a hold of him, his own grip is tight as hell, so Rideaux's definitely not getting out of this one. ]

Looks like you fell for it again.

[ Right after that very mature comment, he'll be using all his strength to... guess what? Throw Rideaux straight into the mats (which is technically just the floor.) It's exactly the same way Rideaux had did it to him back then too. ]

[evilfrenzy]

[Rideaux almost yells something back, but his words audibly catch in his throat as he gets flung to the ground and the wind gets completely knocked out of him.]

Hrgh-! [Okay, words are still not happening yet. He wheezes and tries to get air back into his lungs first.] You little shit!

[Oh boy. He's actually mad, isn't he. Sure enough, he's going to do everything he can to drag Yuri down too. He moves into a position on the ground where he can sweep his leg out in an attempt to knock Yuri down once more.]

[hesperos]

Wow, I don't think I've seen you that mad befo--

[ Yuri running his mouth gets him knocked off of his feet, and he grunts as it ends up being round #2 of him getting knocked straight onto his ass. But he's picking himself up with a grin on his face because he's still actually kind of amused.

He still has enough energy to come at him again, this time with a sliding kick attempt at the man's legs because apparently Yuri does what he wants. ]

[evilfrenzy]

[By the time Yuri gets back to his feet, Rideaux is already back up as well and ready to take whatever Yuri throws at him next.]

Because you went for my face again!

[When Yuri comes in with the kick, Rideaux rushes forward and leaps to dodge it. But he doesn't just jump out of the way, he literally jumps over Yuri. He's not done being Extra, it seems. Maybe it's his anger fueling him now.

When he lands, he twists to attempt to do a spinning kick to Yuri's side.]

[hesperos]

Of course I did. How bold of me, right?

[ Yuri's still smirking--one of these days he's going to resist the calling to act like a little shit. This is definitely not one of those days.

Though, if there's anything he is sure of, he's not going to want to have something like that hit, so don't mind him just stepping swiftly out of the range of (and around) that kick. This time, he's going to go for a punch at Rideaux's left side, since that's where he ended up being at, anyway. ]

[evilfrenzy]

[There isn't much time for Rideaux to block that punch considering he's still mid-kick without a way to stop himself on a dime, so he takes the full brunt of it. It causes him to recoil a little more than one might expect. Apparently he really is that accustomed to defending his midsection well, so getting a hit there would normally be pretty bad for him.

Once he recovers, he utters a growl before just coming right at Yuri's face with a punch. It's kind of sloppy, though. He's probably running out of steam at this point and is just fighting angrily without thinking as much.]

[hesperos]

[ It kind of is, and while Yuri can see it coming, he didn't expect the man's anger to affect his ability in battle--though it does make sense. He'll be able to raise an arm to block that punch that's been aimed at his face--the same arm he's used to block an earlier hit. He also finds it kind of hilarious that Rideaux went for his face, considering the current discussion. ]

Man, didn't think I'd manage to piss you off that much. You sure you still ready to go like this?

[evilfrenzy]

[Yuri did it first, so it's totally fair for him to do it back!!

With that punch blocked, Rideaux just sighs and withdraws his arm to take a deep breath.]

I take pride in my appearance, you know that. I take attempts to mar my face seriously. Do you know how much makeup it would take to cover up bruises there?

[hesperos]

[ Looks like they came to a standstill--that's fine with Yuri. He's...definitely going to be feeling this in the morning, though. ]

... More than a drop? Probably?

[ Guess who knows little about makeup other than 'it exists' and 'people put it on themselves'. Well, he does know what it looks like too, but still. ]

[evilfrenzy]

[What is he going to do with you, Yuri.]

...Obviously? Honestly, it would probably take more than I even have access to here. So, that is why I was angry about it.

[hesperos]

[ Party with him clearly. ]

I dunno how makeup works since I don't really wear it. I didn't even know you wore it until now, to be honest. But, alright I guess I get it.

[ ... ]

Still, I don't think I have many regrets even though you kinda whooped my ass in the beginning there. It felt nice getting a good spar in again.

[ Maybe he'll just try and see what happens if he makes an attempt to flick at him in the face in another spar. Though what happens might be that he gets his ass kicked for it. ]

[evilfrenzy]

[...Yes. Clearly.]

Not that much, but I would occasionally use some back home.

[In the end though, he shrugs and waves a hand dismissively. Whatever. He'll let it go for now, but if Yuri tries it again at some point...yeah, there will definitely be no holding back.

Rideaux starts straightening his clothes out and brushing dust off of himself. He seems to have cooled enough to return to a small smirk.]

Having access to this dojo and the gym did wonders for getting me back on my A-game. [...] I agree, though. It felt good...for the most part.

[And Yuri knows what part he'll be getting a Look for.]
