Week 8.

WEEK 8 Regardless of what you think of the most recent deaths, four more people have died this week. Milla Maxwell, Angel, Susan Ashworth, and Aligula are gone now, leaving you with about a quarter of your original number. Thirty-five down to twelve - this can't keep going for much longer, can it? Is there anything you can do? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Unlike the previous weeks, however, it seems that either you've reached the end of the line or Jericho has decided to stop rewarding you for your effort; where there would usually be a stairwell to a new floor, you're met with nothing but solid wall. Perhaps it's distressing; perhaps it's a good sign. Only time will tell, and time isn't something you have a lot of around here. PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 12

Wow, I think I've actually heard of all of those? Those are some pretty staple dishes, back home...I wish I'd asked her about that sooner. [Her smile is a bit sad.] But sweets make sense, honestly. Sweet girls like sweet things!

...The talk of deserving gets a bit of a pause, but she smiles, an arm wrapping around Alex. And...a free hand grabbing for another cookie.]

Yes, it is. I don't really think destiny cares how old you are when it decides to throw you curveballs like that, though, even when you're not the Avatar. All you can do is learn to deal with it.

...But even though you have made that decision, you still don't like it and that's the thing bothering you.

[ Yuri has purposefully written off the motive as Jericho being full of shit. He has good reason to disbelieve it and even for the part of him that thought of it as plausible, he had faith in himself and his friends that, according to memory, it'd be resolved.

It's not the same for everyone, however. ]

Do you have people back home who'd be able to handle the world being in trouble?

The fact that we can still fight is...proof enough, I think, that this place is still better than whatever it could be, and I'm glad for that.

So...what you're saying is that they'd end up becoming akin to those small flying ships in the novels around here?

That's what the books seems to think back in the day.

...yes, of course. It'd be nice if the world would just slow down for everyone.

Honestly, though, to have someone decided from birth to be basically a god is a little it... the whole thing is a little absurd, isn't it?

[Rideaux watches, observing the contents if it's a clear jug. He makes some kind of amused noise at the mention of a silly straw.]

Oh, now that would certainly make any potential ill effects worth it.

Of course. I'm not going to stop fighting as long as I'm still breathing.
