Week 8.

WEEK 8 Regardless of what you think of the most recent deaths, four more people have died this week. Milla Maxwell, Angel, Susan Ashworth, and Aligula are gone now, leaving you with about a quarter of your original number. Thirty-five down to twelve - this can't keep going for much longer, can it? Is there anything you can do? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Unlike the previous weeks, however, it seems that either you've reached the end of the line or Jericho has decided to stop rewarding you for your effort; where there would usually be a stairwell to a new floor, you're met with nothing but solid wall. Perhaps it's distressing; perhaps it's a good sign. Only time will tell, and time isn't something you have a lot of around here. PARTICIPANTS REMAINING: 12

[ Elda... smirks? She says this with a smile, seemingly a little carefree despite the fact that she's still clearly doing some sort of mourning in that she's wearing one of Aligula's dresses.

For Alex, especially, she's not about to show weakness. ]

[ Alex replies with a smile as well. There's being honest and then there's being emotionally honest and she's pretty sure they're only at the first one. ]

Yeah, you don't? No Dungeons and Dragons fans in your social circle?

... What, is that some fetish thing? No?

[ Look. Dungeons. ]

No!! It's a board game, 'bout adventuring! Like...how Adelina does!

Going on magical healing quests put out by some ghost you beat up? That sort of stuff? What's that go to do with a fetish dungeon?

This has nothing to do with fetish dungeons! Elda, there are other kinds of dungeons!!

Yeah but those are hardly adventurous! They're just there to torture people!

It's 'cause they're associated with castles, it's just supposed to be something you loot!

Oh, so it's about warfare after all?

It's about exploration? I've never really played a game, but... It all depends on what the Dungeon Master sets up.

...You're sure this isn't fetish stuff?

It's just the person in charge of the campaign!

Then why not call them the general!

[ Elda laughs, her laugh turning to... ah. She stops part way through it. She was doing a more giggly laugh than her evil old lady one there, and in her outfit (one of Aligula's lolita ones) it... it felt weird, so she stops short. ]

'Cause it's not always...fighting... [ ...Ah... Ah, that... ] It's not always a fighting story. Sometimes it's...other stuff.

[ . . . Bah, that was her fault. Elda huffs, and then pulls out a chair snd sits next to the girl. ]

Yeah? So it's a making up an adventure story, one person runs it, and the others... what, are the characters?

[ Okay, we are continuing and that was not awkward! ]

Um, yeah, exactly. You make a character and...plug in a lot of numbers? And the DM gives you a story.

[matchbreaker]

Numbers. So now it's got math. I guess that explains all the numbers in the books with the tables and such.

[ She did flip through some of those.

She shifts in the seat. She gets into a frog crouch here in the chair instead of sitting. ]

[ Old lady crouch... ]

Yeah. Stats, and stuff. The DM's supposed to help with that, I think? I could never run one, it's...a lot to keep track of.

[matchbreaker]

Yeah? Makes sense.

[ Wew ]

I probably wouldn't have the head for it either.

If we had anyone who could do it, might be a...fun distraction, though.

[matchbreaker]

.... I mean, Rin could, but I'd fear the results.

... She'd probably make it some kind of Pyrrhic tragedy.

Precisely. That girl's personality is morbid sometimes.

She'd over-level everything, and we wouldn't make it past the first dungeon.

Oh, but she's more fair than that - there would be a solution, but we'd need to have worked that out through some narrow escape.
