Most of the week has come and gone in relative peace; it's an uneasy peace, but the fact is that it exists, and sometimes that's the most one can ask for. Friday dawns like the rest of the week before it – the clock chimes the hour at seven, the doors to the kitchen and the mail room unlock and swing partially ajar of their own volition, and the building is quiet. Perhaps this week has passed relatively painlessly, and no one's decided to find out what your captor means by that last rule of his; perhaps the communal lifestyle has remained undisturbed, whether due to the lack of threat to everyone's well-being from any sort of outside source or just because no one sees a reason to push their luck. Or perhaps somebody decided to be a damn overachiever and take some initiative. Only one way to find out, isn't there? >Explore?

[Well, Susan's got no reason to be more on edge this morning than any other. Let's just go to the kitchen for some coffee and maybe food!]

But Blue isn't quite hungry just yet, so she decides to wander over to the ballroom- the long way through the halls, not through the kitchen- and hums to herself along the way.]

The relative elegance of the ballroom is offset by the scene taking place on the far end of it, near the stage and the grand piano set upon it; the large chandelier nearest the stage is weighted down today, the usual attention-catching shine of the crystals being massively outdone by the other...ah, more creative decoration hanging from it right now.

That. That certainly looks like something may be decidedly really not right in here. A very definite person-sized something.

[Today is laundry day, Mordecai has decided. Feeling enough of his strength has returned, his first stop is the laundry room to prepare the washing bin.]

[Was it that late already? It was probably about time for Dio to make his way back to his room; eventually, someone was bound to further question why he was only awake at night. If he just avoided them entirely until a solution to this mess was found, it wouldn't be an issue.]

[Well. Never mind that for now. He'd make his way through the dormitories on his way back to his room.]

[Surely nothing would go on that could possibly disturb him on a completely normal day.]

[Well, today seems okay--Undyne's still tense, granted, but that's pretty much par for the course, here.

She's heading off to the laundry room first; she wants to get that out of the way before she grabs her morning tea...]

[Suddenly, sounding out from the foyer and the intercoms in the rooms, something can be heard that's usually only reserved to signal the transition from day into night:

That clock is chiming.

And once it's done, those intercoms crackle to life again; it's the first time the Conductor has addressed the entire lot of you in days.]

A course of action has been taken; a decision has been made, and one of your own has paid the price for it.

From here on out, it's you against the guilty party – whomever they may be, they're attempting to fulfill the conditions of Rule Seven. Whether you want to see the exercise terminated or not, the fact of the matter is that someone has died because of them.

You will have time to investigate as you see fit. Once you've finished, convene by the stairwell on the southwestern side of the dormitories and I'll allow you downstairs.

Find the person that did this. While there's no returning lives that have been lost, don't you think Acquiescent deserves that much?

[Despite his words, he doesn't sound angry; if anything, he sounds more interested than displeased. Either way, he won't be responding to you again for the time being, so it won't do you much good to waste time trying to get him to pay attention to you.

He still wants to get away from the source of screams, as much as gawking at a dead body sounds appealing. On his way to his room, he decides to make one last trip to the storage room for more emergency supplies. This is too terrifying to deal with right now.
