Week 8.
Regardless of what you think of the most recent deaths, four more people have died this week. Milla Maxwell, Angel, Susan Ashworth, and Aligula are gone now, leaving you with about a quarter of your original number. Thirty-five down to twelve - this can't keep going for much longer, can it? Is there anything you can do? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Unlike the previous weeks, however, it seems that either you've reached the end of the line or Jericho has decided to stop rewarding you for your effort; where there would usually be a stairwell to a new floor, you're met with nothing but solid wall. Perhaps it's distressing; perhaps it's a good sign. Only time will tell, and time isn't something you have a lot of around here. |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week eight of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!
If you'd like to get in contact with the Coordinators, you can do so through private meetings with Hilda!]
Investigation
Just like that? That's too cruel. He was right there, but she didn't even... Her cheeks feel wet, so Rin's sure she cried in her sleep, but when she wakes she feels so tired. Determined, but grim. So that's the truth about the Grail Kirei spoke of... She should probably be more torn up about her family's dream, but she isn't. She doesn't want some monkey's paw of a weapon. But destroying that weapon...
Rin slaps her face, and drags herself out of bed for the day.
So there's no new floor today, huh? That's a little foreboding, but Rin doesn't mind. She wanted to check out last week's floor a little closer anyways. Thusly, for most of the day you can find her in Library #2. She can't read shit here, but you know what reference books have? Pictures. She's just kind of browsing all over here, trying to get a feel for the subject matter, or if there's any strange ones.
But while she is investigating that, her actual main point of interest is the cat. That's right. This is Investigation: Catfriend. There's a lot of pretending to be studying these books going on, when really she's watching their feline companion to see how it behaves, or if it goes anywhere. She's prepared to stake out here all day, man. However, if it doesn't do anything interesting on its own, she did bring some things with her to see how it'll interact with them. Namely, she's brought the box she and Sayaka found last week.
While Rin burns almost all their daytime hours up there, she's going to end the night in the bar. Depending on how things go, maybe it's celebratory, or maybe she's sulking, who knows? Either way, she's trying to be a little more open, and also a little more adventurous. Brandy is her go-to drink, but she decided to try something new tonight, something she's never heard of.
And uh, weird. It doesn't look like she's been drinking a lot? She's only on her second glass here. But she's drawing kitty faces in the condensation of the glass, and generally staring into the red jewel of the pendant necklace lying in front of her on top of the bar like she's contemplating the mysteries of the universe, and well, maybe she is, given her conversation starter. Her voice is hushed in some kind of awe.]
...Do you ever look back on your experiences objectively and think about how weird your life is?
bar
[he thinks about it.]
Sort of, yes.

Y-Yeah. [Hack, cough. Oh god, how strong is this stuff? Her nose burns. Rin covers her face with one hand, looking away with a suspicious expression.] Two siblings in love with the same person is the sort of thing you'd only see in a cheap drama or a harem novel!
[Why is her voice so squeaky.]
no subject
Oh.
[look. he didn't get to be where he is now without being a little perceptive.
and without being the sort of person who can't really suppress some kind of cheshire grin when this kind of situation arises.]
I see you've got me beat in one area.
no subject
So what?? [Prickling like a cactus over here.] You probably have me beat in old lady evictions!

[Rin—she's doing something with her hand. It's not a wave, she's just slowly sweeping it through the air, like it's a broom to dismiss that thought. Under a rug it goes. Sweep it into the closet!]
My quota for relationship drama is already full for the year, thank you.

[Although Kyrie is pretty sure your life is much weirder than hers ever was, anyway]

Maybe our karma's bad. [Eyes wide, she says this slowly as if the thought just occurred to her. They should get to the bottom of this.] Say, say, Ushiromiya-san. What were your past lives like?
no subject
[She seems a bit hesitant to talk about it]
no subject
[She was apparently talking about literal past lives, as in reincarnation.]
no subject
[She almost asks if Kirei remembered past lives or something, but she refrains from doing so. The least that is said about that guy to Rin's face, the better]

[Rin's back to drawing kitty faces into the condensation of her glass again. ...She's very drunk right now, Kyrie, I'm sorry.]
The source of our bad karma will just remain a mystery forever.

I'm not drunk. [...] Am I? I do feel a little strange, but I haven't even had two glasses.

[Underage drinking is not good, Rin]

bar
[She's just going to help herself to a seat next to Rin.]
I've always known I'm a bit different, so I've never really had to.
no subject
But I like you because you're the most normal person here, Hibiki! If you've been weird this whole time, does that make me a hundred times stranger than I was before??
no subject
[Magic might be weird, but Rin isn't? But! Hibiki breaks out into a grin before pulling something out from her pocket and setting them on the bar counter. They're gloves!]
Hehe! You're gonna like me even more now! I bet you thought I forgot, huh?
no subject
Her cheeks color a deep red, and if she wasn't drunk she'd probably be doing something more tsun-worthy. Which is probably just as well, since she gets to be double-surprised by the gift!]
You knit these...? It's my present?
[Rin accepts the gloves with special awe, quick to slide them on to her hands. They feel so cozy... Rin wishes the present she made for Hibiki was here, but she needs a few days to complete it properly, she knows.]
no subject
That said, though, catfriend is here! ...Curled up in a box that Tarrlok brought it, because such is cat. It'll look up when Rin comes in, though. Hey. How's it going.]
no subject
I think I'll call you Dewey. You don't mind, right?
[Rin crouches by the cat's box. She's probably come by the library a few times now, to play with the cat or in general just sit around it. Get it comfortable with the idea of her being around, so it doesn't mind her sitting around most of the day today, watching it for an interesting reaction.]
